1 out of 5 eggsPoor Choice

Pros: None that I can see

Cons: It reboots all the time and locks up as well. I had to fix several problems with a firmware upgrade out of the box, and it still it bearly working. AND the company doesnt offer any real support. This is a very poor choice for a print server..

3 out of 5 eggsDidn't Work With Lexmark. Worked without a hitch with HP.

Pros: Went off without a hitch with an HP Multi-Function [using TCP/IP Protocal]

Cons: Will not work with Lexmark, but I'm under the impression that Lexmark is pretty particular in general with print servers.

Other Thoughts: Bottom-line, it worked with the HP, but wouldn't work at all with the Lexmark [Lexmark would stop at 99% printing - would print, but you'd have to reboot to send another print job]

1 out of 5 eggsNot Compatible With All Printers

Pros: compact design, easy to hookup

Cons: Not compatible with Epson CS7800 multifunction printers. ggrrrr...

Other Thoughts: I have spent hours on my own, and some with their support trying to get this to work with my printer without success. v7.9 flash wouldn't open the ports to the printer, but that was fixed in v8.0. Still can not seem to get this device to print more than 2" of a test page, and the only advice EdiMax support can give now is its not compatable with my printer.

4 out of 5 eggsNice for the price

Pros: It works in many environments (I use Ubuntu Linux) and has lots of nice options. HTTP configuration is easy enough.

Cons: Manual is geared toward Windows users and doesn't even describe the easiest way to set the print server up. Default IP is, which isn't valid on my router, so I had to change some things in order to be able to run the admin to change the IP and other settings.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: cheap, small, fairly good instructions. it does what its supposed to.

Cons: setup took several hours, though i am not the most experienced with networking. hp printers are difficult to network.

Other Thoughts: be sure to reboot the print server once you have made all the intital changes. also, with an hp psc1610, the instructions on setting up client side don't work. have to intall printer software/drivers with usb connection first and make sure it prints , then change it over to ethernet/network.

3 out of 5 eggsslow printing

Pros: it is small so it doesn't take up a lot of space on your desk or on top of your pc, does what it is designed to do.

Cons: takes a long time to print most documents, not easy to set up unless you know a little bit about networking.

Other Thoughts: this print server is okay if you are just looking for something that allows you to print without having to leave one pc on all the time. However, if you are trying to print file that is anymore than a few mb's then be prepared to have to wait at least 5-10 minutes after you hit the print button for your doc to actually start printing.

1 out of 5 eggsJunk

Pros: Easy to install and plug in

Cons: Doesn't work. Not with the Officjet 6110 all in one from HP, or the HP Laserjet 3015.

Other Thoughts: You get what you pay for.
