5 out of 5 eggsOutstanding Product/Price

Pros: great value, lots of features

Cons: none that I can think of, this product reminds me of how back in the day technology was as available cheaply, I mean real cheap from most everyone, but good products/good engineering. but now only places like Newegg.com are still keepin it real

4 out of 5 eggsso far so good

Pros: Fast
Cheap
N-Spec
Not Hot

Cons: Takes some fiddling

Had problems with latest firmware went back one

Any changes will require a reboot of the router.. however this can be done at anytime.. or so it says.

Took me a few hours to get this thing to produce.

Other Thoughts: Good router. Had i just left it alone in the beginning and not touched it it probably would've been fine. But I upgraded the firmware and then messed with all the settings. Resulted in the router giving me very slow internet access. However once I reflashed it to a lower version. Everything seemed fine. N-spec seems pretty strong. For twenty something dollars i'm impressed. Not sure how long it's gonna last though.

4 out of 5 eggsOutstanding Edimax customer service

Pros: Works as described. Easy to use management interface. Runs cool. Other reviewers seemed concerned about the fire hazard warning in the user manual. This is just a safety notice like the suffocation warning on plastic bags. Anything that plugs in can catch on fire.

Cons: One of three I bought last April failed during update flash even though I used the supplied Ethernet cable for the flash and I had the router and the computer plugged into the same UPS unit.

Other Thoughts: Edimax customer service replied to my first email within one hour. When their suggestion failed to revive the router they issued an RMA. I mailed the defective router to them on a Friday. They sent me a tracking number for the replacement and I got the replacement from them on the following Wednesday. Excellent, prompt, and courteous communication.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for home networking

Pros: Perfect for your basic home networks
Easy setup. (Software included or use your browser)
Lot's of options
Open NAT options for gaming (xbox live included)

Can handle my ISP's speeds just fine (25-55 Mbps dwn. 4 Mbps up). I currently have 10 devices in my house that access the internet through this router, and they all connect perfectly.

Cons: The bright white! agh!
The wifi range. Not good, not bad...just average.

Other Thoughts: Those having trouble with this router dropping connections...Try changing DNS.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Router

Pros: Good Range and Great Stock Software with lots of features.

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: I am using this in a environment where there are other routers/access points covering alot of the US 2.4 GHZ Wifi Spectrum. This router has a range consistent if not a little better than the other 4 devices I have installed.

5 out of 5 eggsWorking Great!

Pros: Works great. Has been on for almost 14 days with between 4 and 10 wireless devices and one wired PS3 and has yet to have a problem. The wireless G coverage from this router is a little weaker than the linksys it replaced, however the wireless N coverage is far better than the G coverage anyway. WRT54G speedtest.net speed was 8Mbps download upstairs on wireless G. This router is 18Mbps upstairs on the same laptop with wireless G. My internet tops out around 23Mbps with wireless N on this router.

Cons: Administration interface isn't the easiest because they try to make it too easy.

Other Thoughts: Great buy for less than 30 dollars. Don't regret upgrading at all.

5 out of 5 eggsListened to wife...

Pros: Fast and easy to set-up.

Cons: No complaints!

Other Thoughts: We were having trouble with our older router. I thought the internet was slow at our house, because we live out in the country. I bought this router even though it cost half what the old router cost. Now, we can even get online on the weekends and actually do stuff!!! Thanks Newegg and Edimax! We are extremely pleased.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Product!!

Pros: Fast and easy to set up in my opinion. Was online in minutes. Great price. I get speeds of up to 177Mbps. My modem is old and limits my speed.

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: Edimax Customer service is great. I had a minor issue where the router was dropping signal intermittently. Emailed Edimax and I got a response within 24hrs with instruction on how to fix it. Fix was real simple and worked. Will highly recommend this router.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Value and Good Performance

Pros: Extremely great value. I bought this thinking it might be a bad idea to buy a cheap router. This thing works great. My old wrt54g did about 2mbps ftp transfers over the wireless network from a server on the LAN. This router does an average of 6mbps from LAN to a wireless device. Awesome value and eggsaver shipping was free and arrived in 3 days.

Cons: None yet. Have had it on for 2 days and transferred over 20gb in ftp transfers and it hasn't dropped out or reset at all.

Other Thoughts: Only time will tell if the life of this router will have made it a great buy. At this point it works great and if you are knowledgeable you will have no problem using the administration console. Upgrade the firmware first it was really old when it arrived. If this router lasts me 7yrs like my wrt54g did then im pretty happy. I don't see 6mbps being too slow for me for a while.
