4 out of 5 eggsI was almost mad.

This review is from: Edimax EW-7722In 300Mbps 11n Wireless PCI adapter with 2 x 3dBi Detachable Antennas

Pros: Its solid and reliable. I literally just aimed the antennae at a 90 degree angle and had 94% signal strength. Its fast.

Cons: Bit hard to get in the PCI port, so be careful or you'll snap it.

Other Thoughts: I bought it expecting to have plenty of room, ended up having to take the slave end of my sound card out for it to fit. So I have fast reliable wireless internet, but I can't use my microphone when I'm in groups on SWTOR, so I have to type everything.

5 out of 5 eggsEdimax 300Mbps adapter

This review is from: Edimax EW-7722In 300Mbps 11n Wireless PCI adapter with 2 x 3dBi Detachable Antennas

Pros: Reliable card. I don't have issues with internet dropping. Downloads fast and uploads fast. It's cheap. Antenna feel sturdy. Smaller antenna lead to fewer size limitations. I can't vouch for intensive games, but this card works for lighter gaming such as Minecraft, League of Legends, World of Tanks, and etc.

Cons: It's pretty big, although I'd rather have quality over size. It will cover about half of your GPU fan if it sits directly beneath it. I haven't had heat issues, but still something to consider. I like the small antennas, but others might prefer big antennas. It is mean, green, and ugly. If you have a side panel, I hope green is your theme because this thing will draw some attention if you're trying to coordinate colors.

Other Thoughts: I don't know what these legacy PCI slots can be utilized for nowadays, but this isn't a bad way to spend them. Save the gen 2&3 slots for GPUs and put this card in your unused PCI slot. It works beautifully and I would make the purchase again. Please note that I am running 64-bit Windows 7.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks fine

This review is from: Edimax EW-7722In 300Mbps 11n Wireless PCI adapter with 2 x 3dBi Detachable Antennas

Pros: It does it's job well; if you're looking to get online without a cord this will get it done. For everyday tasks such as e-mail and video streaming I can't tell a difference between running from this card or a cord.

Cons: None for the price.

Other Thoughts: Maybe not the greatest for gaming although it's possible and really not that bad depending on the game, but we all know that.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Connection!

This review is from: Edimax EW-7722In 300Mbps 11n Wireless PCI adapter with 2 x 3dBi Detachable Antennas

Pros: My system is in the basement and the router is upstairs in the bedroom.. I get a full 4 bars out of 5. I had a D-Link DWA-552 Xtreme, and it never registered over 3 bars and constantly lost connection with the router.. So far I've not had a single connection loss, and a steady 4 bar connection with this Edimax EW-7722In

Cons: It wasn't free

Other Thoughts: Great Wireless adapter at a very reasonable price point.. If you are looking for a Wireless PCI card, then look no further.. This thing is all you will need..

4 out of 5 eggsIt's good for the price

This review is from: Edimax EW-7722In 300Mbps 11n Wireless PCI adapter with 2 x 3dBi Detachable Antennas

Pros: It's not expensive and it works well. I can connect from the basement to upstairs in my room. I can upload videos fast and play other HD videos on other tabs. Can peak the MBPS around 130 usually, but mostly at 117. I really like it and if you're looking for average, cheap, and decently reliable then get this.

Cons: The software for checking the MPBS Status is finnicky. Sometimes it tells me that it I have good connection but still can't connect to the internet. When I adjust the antennas it tells me that I have the same good connection, the same MBPS, but the antennas are positioned differently. You really have to be tedious when adjusting it to min-max MBPS.

Other Thoughts: I'm sure this commonly happens, but if multiple users are using the same WiFi then I cannot connect but yet other people can still use it. It's not that bad but just a pain to figure out.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome value

This review is from: Edimax EW-7722In 300Mbps 11n Wireless PCI adapter with 2 x 3dBi Detachable Antennas

Pros: Wireless is a must & this unit has been a bully on my network of wireless device. It is overkill for web browsing but for downloading it has been amazing, Almost double the speed of my laptops

Cons: It take up more space compared to other Wi-Fi adapters. I still have room for crossfireX so I'm good

Other Thoughts: I got this on sale for around $15 so it was a steal for me & I would recommend this as 1 of the better Wi-Fi solutions.

5 out of 5 eggsEasy Install, Plenty Fast

This review is from: Edimax EW-7722In 300Mbps 11n Wireless PCI adapter with 2 x 3dBi Detachable Antennas

Pros: No complaints here: uninstalled the old card/driver, popped this in, and let Windows find the right drivers - didn't even need the CD.

Quite the speed boost over a 54Mbps adapter - 1080p video and Steam game streaming are now smooth as butter!

Cons: For the price paid, absolutely none.

1 out of 5 eggsRandom lag spikes and dropouts

This review is from: Edimax EW-7722In 300Mbps 11n Wireless PCI adapter with 2 x 3dBi Detachable Antennas

Pros: Decent signal strength.

Cons: Random lag spikes every few minutes. Ping goes from double digits to triple + until finally timing out completely. The timeouts last a few minutes before it all goes back to normal. I tried the Ralink drivers, updated software (newest version on their site is from 2009), used their software, didn't use their software. Nothing improved these random ping spikes.

I purchased this card because it listed Linux support and can't even speak to that since I will be returning it before trying.

This sort of problem is not something worth dealing with despite the fact that you could do simple web browsing with super high ping. These problems are something to be expected years ago, not today.

I HIGHLY recommend going with a different card unless you don't mind a ping over 1000.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear customer,

We apologize for the lag issue you are experiencing with our EW-7722In Wireless PCI adapter.

If you use it in a Windows PC, you may enable the “MultiMedia/Gaming Environment” settings in Device Manager. This may help out the lag issue.

This adapter uses Ralink RT3062 chipset. Attached is the installation instruction for Linux users. The instruction is for the EW-7128G 150mbps wireless adapter. EW-7722In and EW-7128Gn use the same Linux driver and can share the same Linux installation instruction.

If you need any further assistance on our products, please feel free to contact our tech support at (408)988-6092 or write an email to " support@edimax.us " directly.

Best regards,
Edimax Customer Service Team

3 out of 5 eggsCard works good, was unlucky.

This review is from: Edimax EW-7722In 300Mbps 11n Wireless PCI adapter with 2 x 3dBi Detachable Antennas

Pros: Worked as it should, did what it was supposed to. Easy to install, gets a nice run for its money. (cheap)

Cons: After 6-7 months of getting it, it bricked and my computer did not know what the hell a wifi connection was. Had a good run, but I was unlucky.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear customer,
