This thing rocks
- Pros: - Great range and penetration
- Share a printer, USB mass storage device (HD, flash), webcam
- Can serve files from the HD via FTP to the world.
- Supports WPA/WPA2 TKIP + AES
- Cool look w/ mellow orange glow
- Works out of the box (unsecured) with wireless B/G/N
- Security configuration is easier than some routers, but you still need to understand what you are doing.
- Cons: -Web management interface has some funny translations to english, but you can still understand everything
- Can't use download manager unless the connected hard drive is formatted with FAT32 or EXT2
- Other Thoughts: I have been waiting for a product like this for SO long. It replaces a Linksys WRT54AB (dual wireless A + B). I have been using this for about a month and it has not crashed or had any problems at all. It hosts my USB external HD and Canon i560 printer with no issues. Transfers are obviously not as fast as connecting it directly to your computer via USB, but the convient always on access to my files from anywhere w/ low power consumption outweighs that.
Great Router
- Pros: provides hardware based bit torrent, the usb ports share with samba so the file sharing works with windows and lunix. plug in a USB Hdd and its built in download manager takes care of large torrents. wireless N support works nicely, and in unison with B and G wireless hardware. extremely stable router it has been 2 weeks still no need for a reset without needing a reset. it also has exceptional range.
- Cons: only a 4 port switch I would like 8 or more, but thats nitpicking.
- Other Thoughts: is fully (including the extra functions) lunix compatible.
the router is serving 4 geeks 3 of which are computer engineering majors. we each have 2 computers each and a media center PC so we have a rather large home network. the router replaced a linksys wireless g router, needless to say its a huge upgrade. overall impression is awesome highly impressed. not to mention the price i haven't found anything comparable for the same price .
