2 out of 5 eggsworked great while it worked

Pros: worked like a champ while it worked.

Cons: Worked for almost exactly 13 months before it died. Guess it was the disposable version.

5 out of 5 eggsGot 2 of these free after rebates!

Pros: VERY quick for store+forward.
Low power consumption! 1watt :)
Small, lightweight, mounting holes on bottom.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Allowed me to shutdown my 24-port 3com Superstack II switch which used around 55 watts idle. Going through 2 of these didn't increase latency by any noticeable amount. The way I feel about a switch is that you shouldn't know you are going through a switch, this one meets that requirement. I wish it were Fast Forward but some people would probably prefer Store & Forward, I just like things to go as fast as possible. (Hey, the original data was coming over the wire in the same chunks that Fast Forward would be using.)

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I actually received the presumably better V4 version.
http://www.asus.com/Networks/Wired_Routers_Switches/GX1005B_V4/

•The V4 version is a power saving switch. It says power saving up to 70% on the package (the website says 40% saving). "The switches can detect when a computer is turned off and will respond accordingly by powering down into standby mode and reducing power used for that port."
•Buffer Memory is 384Kbits, not 384bits.
•MAC Address Table is 2K, not 1K.
•Power supply is 5.5V, not 9V.
•Mine did not come with mounting screws.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great.

Pros: Much smaller than I expected. Also, it was very cheap (free after MIR). It does exactly what it's supposed to with no noticeable degradation in speed. I've got one long ethernet cable going to this thing from my router so that I can just plug my computer, laptop, etc. into this instead of running more ethernet cables between rooms.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: It's not gigabit speeds, but that doesn't matter for internet access. The only time gigabit really matters is if you want to transfer a lot of stuff between devices within your home network. Besides, you can't beat the price on this thing.

5 out of 5 eggsAwsome

Pros: I just got it out of the box and it is all plug and play no configuration to mess with. It is instant compatibility with all systems, small, and can fit in tight spaces, definitely wise purchase.

Cons: None So far

5 out of 5 eggsASUS GX1005B Review

Pros: -Small in size
-No speed slow down

Cons: I find the lights to be annoying.

Other Thoughts: One port is used to connect to a network, so you get 4 ports to connect devices.
Great product, recommended buy.
Bought a second one today for 73 cents after MIR, coupon code, and Shoprunner.
