5 out of 5 eggsExcellent for Price

Pros: Easy to install, works out of box

Cons: none at the moment

Other Thoughts: Replaced a D-Link DFE 916, that was noisy the GX1008B worked as fast and without noise. The power used reductions was good. When computers are off it closes the line.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great!

Pros: Bought 3 of these for a networking project in 2010 but never opened them. This morning my D-Link GbE switch went out and I didn't panic. I opened one of these bad boys and I'm back in busisness until I can order another GbE switch. NETWORK CRISIS AVERTED!

Cons: None so far

5 out of 5 eggsDiggin' it!

Pros: No brainer here- worked like a champ! The hardest part was taking it out of the box! Plugged it in and away she goes.

This, by the way, replaced my D-Link 8 port switch that started failing on me. First a port died and then it started dropping packets. I'll still keep it though to simulate network failures in my training curriculum!

Cons: No cons.

Other Thoughts: 1. Thank Asus for having a high-quality product.
2. Thanks Newegg for having this product.
3. Thanks Newegg for having the product discounted, on sale, and a rebate.
4. Thanks Newegg for delivering an undamaged product with free shipping which arrived in two days!
5. Thanks Newegg as everything I've bought from you is 100% perfect.

5 out of 5 eggsport

Pros: It works great behind my wireless router. 8 ports to use and priority on port 1 is a plus for when im gaming on the PS2 and the wife is using the PC.

Cons: Didn't realize you had to run it behind a Modem router/cable box. Was planing on using it straight from a slipstream modem but "unmanaged" means No IP assigned. My mistake not the companies.

Other Thoughts: Bought in 2011 and still using it with no problems. Play on PS3 more then anything now but have 3 PS2 hooked into this so I can play over a LAN connection.

5 out of 5 eggs8 ports solved my problem

Pros: Powered on and it worked.
Bought it with a rebate.

Cons: Can't find any.

Other Thoughts: My new house has one RJ45 port in almost every room so theoretically I can get wired internet connection in each room. I have more than 5 rooms so a 4-port router is not enough. That's why I got this 8-port switch. Connected it to the control board in the master bedroom panel and tested the speed in each room, wired connection 16M down and 1.5M up, the same as without the switch. Perfect. No need for a gigabyte switch yet. Why pay more?
