3 out of 5 eggsOkay

Pros: Pretty decent speeds. 4/5 bars - 5/5 bars. About 30 feet away with a wall between.

Cons: Lose connection. Have to go in and disable the device and enable it again from device settings. This is usually fairly random but happens more so after long use.

Other Thoughts: This is the only one I've had as far as a wireless card goes so I can't really compare it other things in my setup but it happens on all networks i connect through the wireless card.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

Please make sure that you don't have your OS turn off the device on its own. In Windows, go to the device manager, find the PCE-N13 in Network adapters, right-click it, and go to the properties. Under the Power Management tab, uncheck the box labeled "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".

If this does not help or if you are using a different OS, please contact me at cl-jeremy@asus.com so that I may help you get your card working for you.

Regards,
Jeremy

5 out of 5 eggsWell worth the money

Pros: I have had this adapter for over 2 years now and I have not had to mess with it other than the original install, which did not take long at all, 10 minutes tops. When I reinstall Windows occasionally, I don't have to reinstall the drivers, it picks up the adapter right off the bat. I have never lost connection due to the adapter.

Cons: I have no qualms with the adapter as of now, and don't plan on any given the way it has perform thus far.

Other Thoughts: Awesome adapter that is highly recommended.

1 out of 5 eggsHorrible

Pros: Returnable

Cons: Weak reception
Constant interruption
slow slow slow!

Other Thoughts: Bought this so I could go wireless with a desktop located about 30 feet away(PC located upstairs, router located downstairs) and had nothing but trouble out of this model. I was losing connection, getting MAYBE 2 bars of strength. and experiencing super slow speeds. Impossible to play ANY online game with it. I returned it and bought a Rosewill RNX-N300X, and have not had a problem since.

1 out of 5 eggsHorrible

Pros: Works fine if you have NOTHING blocking the reception.

Cons: Well this thing basically never gives a strong connection . It's very touchy. EXTREMELY touchy. Would not recommend this to anyone ever.

3 out of 5 eggsWorks well most of the time

Pros: Good price for a fairly fast wireless connection. Don't have any latency issues gaming with this thing. Setup was a piece of cake with Windows 7.

Cons: Roughly once a day it will drop my network connection. Running Windows 7 troubleshooter says it's a router/modem issue, but we have 6 other wireless devices and two wired devices on the same connection that have no issues.

Other Thoughts: I have not attempted to benchmark it to test the wireless transfer speeds. The rated bandwidth for this device exceeds that of my router, so it is not an issue for me.

As for network connection drops, it is likely a driver issue. I have this problem with the Ralink drivers Windows 7 installed, but I have also read the Ralink driver is better than the one from Asus. I will be trying the ones from Asus anyways to see if it fixes the problem.

1 out of 5 eggsFrustration

Pros: Worked fine for about a year

Cons: Card now runs slow, and disconnects, reconnects etc. Can no longer watch streaming video. Looks like I'll have to replace. Connection shows 3 and sometimes 4 bars? My wife's laptop gets decent speed at two bars. Updated to latest drivers with no difference.

Other Thoughts: Utilities software won't start. Message states that it will start after card is installed? Card is installed?

Manufacturer Response:
