Pros: For the price you pay works like a charm only problem is I got to a point where I had to upgrade but still works great as a backup

4 out of 5 eggsLousy software, nice adapter

This review is from: ASUS (USB-N10) wireless-N USB Adapter (150Mbps Transmit / 150Mbps Receive) with fast USB2.0 Interface, software WPS Button Support

Pros: Nice, small form factor. Reliable.

Cons: ASUS software has no option to select Windows to configure the adapter and when it fires up, it operates too late to handle things like network logins properly. ASUS software prompts on login for admin privs to execute. Don't load the software, see if you can load just the drivers (haven't tried uninstalling and re-adding, just disabled the startup and let Windows handle configuration).

Speed also seems a little lower than the 150Mb/s, despite having 99% signal strength. But, it meets my needs.

Other Thoughts: Don't load the software. See if you can load just the drivers. ASUS should have followed the fifteen year old convention to let customer select whether Windows or ASUS manages Adapter.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great on Linux

This review is from: ASUS (USB-N10) wireless-N USB Adapter (150Mbps Transmit / 150Mbps Receive) with fast USB2.0 Interface, software WPS Button Support

Pros: ~100% plug and play on Linux Mint 17 with MATE desktop (Ubuntu based). This is more than you can say for Win 7; for windoze you need to install drivers first. Just like everything with windoze.

~Very compact, fast, cheap, reliable for the last 6 months anyway.

Cons: ~Was not plug and play with Lucid Puppy Linux.

2 out of 5 eggsIt works but...

This review is from: ASUS (USB-N10) wireless-N USB Adapter (150Mbps Transmit / 150Mbps Receive) with fast USB2.0 Interface, software WPS Button Support

Pros: It does wifi, once connected, see below.

Cons: I'm using this with OSX. The wifi won't connect until the 'helper' program is open, so no pre login connection which is what I need to remote to that box as it sits without keyboard or mouse connected to the TV.
You have to type the network password/key twice before being able to connect, if you got one wrong start again. This is stupidly frustrating on a random 16 character key.
When I sleep the computer it does not resume the connection when waking up most of the time.

Other Thoughts: I should have gone for a more expensive PCI card. Instead of saving money now it has cost more. Lesson learned!

2 out of 5 eggsWorks great, with one major problem.

This review is from: ASUS (USB-N10) wireless-N USB Adapter (150Mbps Transmit / 150Mbps Receive) with fast USB2.0 Interface, software WPS Button Support

Pros: Works great, never disconnects, connection speed never drops. However, there's one MAJOR problem...

Cons: ...with the latest drivers, and tested on three computers, this adapter has a constant 6% packet loss. Browsing the internet, and playing most games works fine, however, with Battlefield 4, it's almost unplayable online. BF4 requires a flawless connection, and this packet loss causes major rubberbanding.

Other Thoughts: For casual use, I would recommend it, as it's cheap.

5 out of 5 eggsUSB-N10 Wireless simple easy USB

This review is from: ASUS (USB-N10) wireless-N USB Adapter (150Mbps Transmit / 150Mbps Receive) with fast USB2.0 Interface, software WPS Button Support

Pros: -Wireless b/g/n support;
-USB plug and play;
-Compact;
-Cheap;

Cons: -Single band only 2.4Ghz;
-N only up to 150Mbps link speed;
-The cover protector for the USB connector easy to lose;
-None;

Other Thoughts: I only wanted a cheap USB card that at least supported 2.4Ghz b/g/n and I did not care it was only up to 150Mbps link speed.

HTPC setup using my MOBOs on board 1Gbps wired, and wanted this USB Wireless to move the HTPC around the house or at a friends if needed.

HTPC build Windows 8,1 Pro 64bit with XBMC.

1 out of 5 eggsJunk

This review is from: ASUS (USB-N10) wireless-N USB Adapter (150Mbps Transmit / 150Mbps Receive) with fast USB2.0 Interface, software WPS Button Support

Pros: Small

Cons: Everything else. Got it to work one time right after I bought it and never again. It wasn't really fast but it worked, once. Tried on 2 different computers and still hasn't worked since the first time. Called customer support to try to get a replacement and they won't even look at it without a serial number which was worn off and illegible. Wasted $20 and about an hour on the phone. The worst rating I can give is 1 egg, would've left a 0 egg if I was able to.
