3 out of 5 eggssomething just not right

Pros: Seemed powerful with big external antenna I added and I was able to download some of the updates I needed, big downloads like video drivers no way tried for days thought it was a cable or something else? Really like ASUS to bad I waited more than 30 days newegg says to bad no RMA! was cheap, Rosewill cheaper! beter we will see?MIGHT BUY ANOTHER 1 too ASUS is my first choice! usally???

Cons: just like other reviews drops for no reason over and over again sure I have a bad one. added a 500 mw booster did nothing to increase signal or help with dropping signal(STRANGE signal stayed EXACTLY the same). NO new driver from ASUS either same as included.

Other Thoughts: windows 7 64 bit
Asus motherboard thought it would match up good
ordered a Rosewill to replace this 1 with they seem to work good with boosters never tried an Asus wifi card before

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great!

Pros: Fast
Reliable

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Replaced a PCI based card with this one in ASUS 1155 mobo, its mush faster, getting almost twice the speed.
Have been using this for more than 1 year, its runs flawlessly, never dropped connection. Its great!

1 out of 5 eggsHorrible, horrible device.

Pros: It occasionally stays connected to the internet for about 10 minutes at a time.

Cons: I have never written a review before, and the only reason I am doing so now is because this product has frustrated me to no end. It CONSTANTLY drops signal. I mean, right now it just dropped signal. When I disconnect and reconnect to Wifi, it will probably last for another 30 seconds to 3 minutes. This is a horrible device, and I cannot stand it anymore. My laptop has no trouble staying online all day, in the same room as this thing. WHY DO YOU SHIP PRODUCTS THAT CLEARLY DON'T WORK.

Other Thoughts: Please refund me for this device. No, I DON'T want another one. I want my money so I can go buy one from a company that might actually work.

3 out of 5 eggsShort Life span

Pros: Great speed and reliability...until...1 year and 3 months from date of purchase. I buy Asus frequently, their boards are fantastic. Unfortunately this card didn't have the life I had hoped.

Cons: Longevity

1 out of 5 eggsSucks

Pros: None

Cons: It's just not good at all. It has terrible connection and is much lower quality than the white USB adapter with all of the reviews.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks perfectly

Pros: Never drops connection, fast, great for getting rid of unnecessary ethernet cables all over the house.

Cons: Absolutely nothing wrong with this thing.

Other Thoughts: Glad I could finally find a use for my PCI Express X1 slot.

Don't trust USPS with rebates. I taped the address to the front of the envelope (as instructed by Asus), and a mail sorting machine tore it off. I went on vacation for Christmas and they returned it to my mailbox. When I returned and found the envelope, the rebate period had already expired. Had to pay full price instead of $5. This happened to all five of my black friday rebates in 2011.

5 out of 5 eggsASUS Drivers - Junk

Pros: Price, and low profile. Stability after new drivers.

Cons: Drivers. Speed would not exceed .5 mbps even right next to my router before new drivers.

Other Thoughts: Got onto the Realtek website, got their driver (RTL8188CE), and things have been great ever since. Consider the HP Driver if the Realtek one does not work out for you.

1 out of 5 eggsVery Poor speeds

Pros: -......

Cons: -speed is not what is advertised. 3mbps

Other Thoughts: I have a usb wireless adapter but wanted one that was straight to the motherboard. After installation of Asus card, speed was 3mbps down, compared to 23mbps from the usb adapter. Uninstalled/installed Asus pci-e adapter along with updating drivers from website from Asus website. No change. 3mbps. Would not recommend this card.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: - Great connectivity
- Consistent fast speeds
- Small

Cons: - Cumbersome hardware installation that required some tweaking and modification (see other thoughts)
- Included Wireless Utility is terrible

Other Thoughts: The metal bracket has a slight inward curve to it. You can even see it in the photos. Because of that curve, the card would not install correctly. When I would lock in the metal brackets by screwing it back on the card would come out of the PCI slot. To rectify that, I took the top screw out of the metal bracket of the card and pushed the card down inward (to the right) and the bracket outward (to the left).

The card is just held in place to the bracket by the one sole bottom screw now but it at least works.

The software utility that comes with it is junk. Just install the drivers and use the Windows stock network utility.
