3 out of 5 eggsCheap card

Pros: Cheap, works

Cons: -2 eggs for fit. RMA'ed the first one, the second one didnt fit any better. It barely makes contact with the PCIe socket in my thermaltake chaser case. Somehow it still works though.

Other Thoughts: Good enough for cheap wireless N solution. I feel like this card may have been designed to fit a micro ATX case. I had to change the mounting bracket on the first one to fit in my full tower case. The bracket for mid-large cases may not have been designed very well to fit in these cases.

5 out of 5 eggsI bought it NEW, but I suggest staying away...

Pros: - well-packaged
- external antennas
- Asus' site is easy to navigate

Cons: - it barely works

Other Thoughts: As I said in the title, I purchased this new, however it seems to be discontinued. Maybe the PCE-N15 is better, but I don't see myself giving Asus another shot.

When I first got the card, the installation went as smoothly as the other $10k+ worth of components I've bought in the past. It was installed on a Win7 x64 computer. I typically stick with Linksys-Cisco, however I couldn't find an 802.11n PCI-E card from them, so decided to give Asus a try, oops!

It FREQUENTLY dropped connection, and when it did have a connection it was slow, although at times would peak up to 1MB/s (I get up to 3MB/s on other computers). I updated to the latest drivers, and now it stays connected, but speeds are still HORRIBLE. Steam is going 1-50KB/s.

Asus, I had so much faith in your products. I've never been the brand-loyal type, but I will not buy any more of your hardware. I'm willing to give their support a shot, but for now I will take the Linksys WMP54Gv1 out of my server (10 years old?) to us

4 out of 5 eggsWorks, but oddly...

Pros: -Fast connection speeds

Cons: -Antennas are useless and cause packet loss

Other Thoughts: I removed the antennas and my packet loss problem disappeared. The antennas were causing about 10 to 15 percent packet loss. Latency, DL/UL speeds were totally unaffected.
