Put fast and compatible dual band internet performance in the palm of your hand with the powerful USB-N53 wireless adapter. Better than most built-in notebook Wi-Fi, other external adapters, and rivaling the speed of many dedicated PCI Express cards, this wireless adapter features an intuitive, easy-to-use interface to get the best signal strength and customize settings. Setup is also made easy with plug-and-play, CD-free installation. Other adapters make you choose from either 2.4GHz or 5GHz, so if you want fast speed of the 5GHz stream you have to sacrifice the compatibility that the 2.4GHz offers. But the USB-N53 dual-band capability allows for concurrent, simultaneously 2.4GHz and 5GHz streams to give you the best of both worlds.

Beautiful, light, and equipped with ASUS' exclusive networking features, the USB-N53 eliminates the need for a PCIe network card or on-board Wi-Fi only requiring a single free USB port. With the included mini USB extension cord, adjust the antenna to receive the strongest signal. This wireless adapter lets you wireless connect other devices to it as an Internet access point with the Software AP. The graphical user interface, EZ UI, centralizes all wireless information into one place with useful real-time information on signal strength and data throughput. The WPS Push Button simplifies secure connections with a single push of a button that detects even hidden routers and internet access points and prompts for passcode access. Additionally, the WPS push button effortlessly syncs to another device with the USB-N53 if both buttons are pressed together.

  • newegg Flexible Dual-Band Connection The ASUS USB-N53 is a wireless-N dual-band adapter allowing you to connect to 2.4GHz for basic Internet applications or 5GHz for lag-free streaming and high performance networking (with speeds up to 300Mbps) through dual-band wireless router.
  • newegg Software AP USB-N53 is not only a USB wireless adapter, but also a small AP. Its Software AP function can easily turn your computer into a wireless access point.
  • newegg USB Extension cable Included Included USB extension cable lets you easily adjust the antenna for the best signal strength.
  • newegg WPS button No need to remember Wi-Fi setting parameter (SSID, Encryption key...) - just press the WPS button to complete the secure connection setting.
  • newegg Intuitive graphical user interface The easy-to-use centralized EZ UI graphical user interface provides useful connection information in real time.

5 out of 5 eggsWOW!

Pros: I also got this to go along with the ASUS RT-AC66U Dual-Band router. Both turned out to be valuable and worthwhile. My laptop with the factory-equipped WiFi adapter only gave me the standard 65Mbps on the 2.4GHz band. I disabled it and plugged this puppy in. I created a 2.4 GHz band network and a 5 GHz band network on the RT-N66U router and now I get 216 Mbps on the 2.4 GHz band network and 300 Mbps on the 5GHz band network! With a Plextor SSD and this wireless adapter, new life was bred into this 4 year old laptop. VERY happy! BTW, Tech support from Asus on the router was first rate the first week I got it. Firmware setup was somewhat daunting at first after having been used to 2 D-Link Dir655 routers for a few years but, after tinkering a bit, nothing but stability so far.

Cons: A little expensive for the router but the included adapter was a bonus! All in all, there is a premium for the latest innovation in routers and wifi adapters. Since an Ethernet cable in one of my network PCs is almost impossible, I do a lot of GB transfers via wireless. This combo is a fine welcome to Paradise finally.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic!

Pros: -Ability to get 2.4 and 5ghz bands
-Easy installation
-Looks pretty
-Easy to use software

Cons: Size. It is pretty fat WITHOUT the extension cable.

Other Thoughts: Such an improvement over my old netgear adapter! Went from 54down and 8up to just about 70down and 11up!

Paired with an ASUS N-750 dual band router

4 out of 5 eggsOver a year of use

Pros: This device uses both 2.4ghz and 5ghz bandwidths. It also comes with a cool usb cable that allows it to be plugged into a port without covering up it's neighboring port and has some sort of stiff wire that allows you to point or position it in the air.

Cons: Microsoft update will attempt to have you use a driver that will only run it in 2.4ghz mode. You have to manually go download the most current version from Asus.

Other Thoughts: I won this device at a raffle and it has surprised me greatly on well it works for a wifi device internal antennas.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks well

Pros: My HP Laptop could not connect to my recent router ASUS N66 the "Dark Knight" 5ghz and only 2.4ghz. I decided to buy this and I was able to connect to the 5ghz as I frequently stream and game.

The setup was easy and fast.

Cons: The USB Adapter is quite big in my opinion. The signal spikes sometimes and I'm not sure why. My router is fairly new so it would not be the router.

Other Thoughts: If the signal did not spike, It would have been a good 5 egg buy.

5 out of 5 eggsPERFECT

Pros: -reliable signal
-no lag
-nice stiff usb connection
-cheap
-N600 dual band
-as good as wired connection from 30 feet through 2 walls

Cons: -didn't buy from newegg

Other Thoughts: well I bought this from a local computer shop after returning the N300 PCIE wifi adapter from ASUS since it didn't get a great signal(literally the signal was 10% to 0%). I also bought a cheap $2 dollar usb extension cord to get it out in the open for a better signal.

3 out of 5 eggsGood?

Pros: I can notice a difference in my wireless network speed when using the adapter rather than my laptop's pre-installed wi-fi card.

Cons: I don't know why, but when I look at all the wireless networks that my laptop can see, whether coming from my the internal wi-fi card or the asus adapter, I can see so many more networks than the adapter. Like I said, I do not know why I can only see so few networks with the adapter.
