1 out of 5 eggsConstant disconnects, poor reception

Pros: It worked just fine when I first bought it. Got a decent signal and worked with windows wireless zero without any issues.

Cons: After a month or so, the card suddenly began getting poor reception and while close to the wireless router, the signal is on at times and off other times. I tried all the different channels on the router and increasing the broadcast power to no avail. After reading the reviews on here about the card, it seems like its not all that uncommon to happen

5 out of 5 eggsNice card

Pros: Got it yesterday, heck alot better than my laptop dell D610 internal card,, powerful card, Runs just fine, can't wait to test it out a Reno Hotels, very happy
Works great with my Dell Latitude D610, will buy another soon

Cons: takes it awhile to connect

Other Thoughts: Don'T use the disk that came with it, google Ralink RT2500 for the current driver 3.2.0.0 the one that comes with it is I think 2.0.0.0 verison I think?

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Inexpensive and functional. Good for older laptops.

Cons: None really but I wouldn't use the software package that comes with it.

Other Thoughts: I can't recommend installing the software package but found it better to go get the latest Ralink driver and set it up using the "have disk" option. Use Windows wireless zero to make and manage the connection. We put 8 of these into older laptops in a school to replace the 802.11a devices in them and have had no problems with any of them. They jump right to the AP. No encryption beyond WPA is supported but that's no big deal here.

5 out of 5 eggsWOW

Pros: Awsume little card, I bought a ***** pcmcia wifi card, constantly over heated and constant disconnects. It was a few $$ cheaper but trust me, get This Asus, it has good range, and worth the money if you dont have an internal wifi.

Cons: I didn't buy it first.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat card, worthless bundled utility

Pros: Great coverage, great speeds, quick installation. Once the card has connected to the router, it hasn't dropped out -- not once.

Installation is painless: Pop the card in, let the New Hardware Dialog come up, and point it to the included CD to find the driver.

Alternatively, google Ralink RT2500 driver (this is the card's chipset). This way you won't have to deal with the autoplay of the CD and can save the driver somewhere on your hard drive in case you lose (or throw away) the CD.

Cons: The bundled Asus utility on the CD is horrible, do NOT even install it. It definitely caused way more trouble than you would expect from a wireless networking card.

When using the Asus utility with my router and WEP security, the connection would drop out every 3-5 minutes (at the most), and would require disabling and re-enabling the card, and reconnecting to the network. It would then disconnect again....

On the other hand, using WPA, it would connect to the router just fine, but could not browse the internet, check email (Thunderbird to my work account), etc.

(I checked connectivity throughout with my Wifi enabled phone)

After uninstalling the utility, rebooting, then reinstalling the card, everything worked perfectly (the first time). I did a sanity check and switched between WEP and WPA afterward -- everything went without a hitch and has worked flawlessly ever since.

Other Thoughts: Bottom line: get this if you're in the market for a solid b/g card that won't break your budget, but avoid the utility on the CD

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: works with linux!

Cons: very poor reception. Even when in the same room as the wireless router it only get 60some percent signal. This could be due to faulty software I guess but who knows. It seems MUCH slower than other cards I have used.

2 out of 5 eggsI concur.

Pros: It did work for the first few days.

Cons: After a week or so, the connection started dropping around the house. Only worked in the room the router was in.

Other Thoughts: Agree with below poster.

2 out of 5 eggsNot too good

Pros: It had a life of about 3 month

Cons: it cuts on me almost every 2 to 3 minutes. It's annoying as hell, when I'm watching videos or listening to music on my home network (desktop hard-drive) it cuts off. That is a huge con.

Other Thoughts: When i first bought the card i thought it was a good deal, but now i realize that Asus is not a networking company, so if you want a card to lasts go with Linksys or similar known products. good luck

5 out of 5 eggsA Good Buy

Pros: This is a reasonably priced wireless card and it works very well.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: If you got the product and it did not work then something went wrong during shipping. Perhaps some people should take that into consideration when rating a product.
