Wired to Wireless without Compromise

The ASUS EA-N66 enables an Ethernet-ready device to wirelessly connect to a router with up to an incredible 450 Mbps of data throughput-one of the highest speeds for a Wi-Fi signal. With its patented 3-point orthogonal design, get a more robust and larger wireless signal range.

The Future is Wireless

Do away with unsightly wired Ethernet cables that could limit where you place your device and go wireless with the freedom to place your smart TV, desktop PC, or other Ethernet-enabled device where you want with the high performance and stability you desire.

Specialized Antenna Design

The patented 3-point orthogonal design is unique and modern in appearance but also delivers a substantial increase in wireless connectivity enabling faster data throughput and an expanded signal range. While most routers have a flat linear line for optimal signal, the EA-N66 antenna shape delivers more of an arc-shaped area of signal coverage giving you an increased optimal range of connectivity for devices throughout your network.

Ultra-High-Speed Dual-Band Performance

Get data throughput up to an incredible 450 Mbps with the EA-N66 - one of the highest wireless speeds available today. What's more, it's IPv6 ready meaning you're ready for future-proofed Web surfing as soon as the networking standard is changed.

3 Selectable Modes

The EA-N66 is exceptionally versatile with 3 different modes you can select from. Ethernet Adapter mode connects your Ethernet-enabled device to a wireless network. Access Point mode establishes a new wireless network. Repeater mode extends an existing wireless network.

Expand Your Coverage

Far surpassing the range of conventional wireless adapters, the EA-N66 gives you a wireless signal range up to 10,000 sq ft1. Especially useful to enhance signal range of existing routers when placed in repeater mode, the EA-N66 increases your signal reach throughout multi-level houses or surrounding areas outside.

User-Friendly Interface

Set up the EA-N66, switch between modes, and customize settings effortlessly through the user-friendly interface. The network map allows you to visually see all the connected devices on your network and customize access as well as set bandwidth priority. Accessible also through EZ UI is the EZ QoS (Quality of Service) that lets you optimize your network for your most commonly performed tasks like online gaming, video streaming, and more.

1 out of 5 eggsASUS Repeater

Pros: None

Cons: I purchased 3 extenders/repeaters for my American Legion. All were unstable, signal dropped off and had to be rebooted often. After updating the firmware the problem still existed. I have pulled them all out.

1 out of 5 eggsAsus can't do everything great

Pros: Nice design
Easy setup

1 out of 5 eggsNot Happy with this AP

Pros: Looks good, powerful signal - when working

Cons: Had the same experience as Jordan P.

Was using this device for about a month when the kids started complaining that their wifi connections to their phones was not working. I also noticed that brand new win7 laptop not even 3 feet away said it had a connection but in reality it didn't - couldn't load web pages.

Downloaded WifiAnalyzer on my droid phone and watched the signal just disappear for seconds at a time, then reappear for about 30 seconds then disappear again.

And just like Jordan P's review "it seems to trick my Network and Sharing Center in the Windows Control Panel into showing that I DO have a connection, but I don't".

This thing is junk, just hope I can return it for something else.

1 out of 5 eggsNot a dual-band AP, aingle radio (cannot use 2.4 and 5GHz simultaneously)

Pros: Can be used as a repeater or client, in addition to an AP. It must be a great client device, because it is intolerable as an AP.

Cons: Not a good dual-band AP as only a single radio can be used simultaneously. I cannot believe they would charge this much, and include a GbE port, but only ship a single radio.
Also requires a reboot for any minor change. Intolerable.

Other Thoughts: I have owned and used several different dual-band APs and this, by far, is the most limiting with the most infuriating setup/reboot requirements.

4 out of 5 eggsHappy

Pros: Currently it connects to my wifi 50 ft through 2 cinder block walls and I get 3-4mbs up on the average download.
It was easy to setup and the range is incredible.

Cons: It's quite possibly the brightest thing besides the sun. If it's going to be in a room people sleep in, suggest hiding it in a box.

5 out of 5 eggsI got one

Pros: It made me happy.

I saw the whole enchilada [ 60M] from Charter finally via this thing, which I honestly never knew existed.

I sweated the drivers and handshakes and that fun stuff, you know. I did not have to do any of that, and it worked. It is an automatic set up apparently. It grabs a browser for you when you plug it all in, before you can sit down at the monitor.

Cons: I could use a 20 ft. Ethernet cable i guess. I made this work.

Other Thoughts: The "night light" is great. it even is purported to send signals if the wireless signal is poor.

The night light is groovy as it shows on a reflective ripple surface and so there is motion as you look at it when you move past it.

3 out of 5 eggsEA-N66R Repeater

Pros: Glad I bought the extra warranty on this. I had the EA-N66 at that worked for about a year then went out on me. Then the replacement was the EA-N66R which was not doing a good job at all. And I am a huge ASUS fan but this repeater is not as good or even comes close to the Amped wireless extenders-repeaters.

Cons: Just get too warm after time and I think looses its ability to work when you get them new. Seems to take about a year or so.

Other Thoughts: If you want the best wireless repeater that has 4 ports and kicks, but over anything else I have ever used as a repeater or extender. Go with the Amped products. I like this one and got the 12db gain antennas and I can go 2 blocks away with my phone even. My laptop I can go around 4 blocks. It's an amazing product. I have used Hawkings and many others and the Amped products are the best bar none. So far.

5 out of 5 eggsA Speed Demon

Pros: Wow! I was using one of these to pull the neighbors WiFi into my home. I was using a AC Asus router with a NetGear stick in my desktop. Then I plugged one of these babies in and now I have 1GB. Before I had 144 to 100Mbps. No lag now. I used this setup in my Florida home to pick up the club house 300 feet away and ended up with FREE WiFi at 1GB with 3 Computer, One VOIP Phone setup and the sling on dish DVR.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Love the blue lights.

1 out of 5 eggsUnresolved Problem

Pros: Easy to set up.

Cons: When using the Asus EA-N66 in "Access Point Mode" it will often pass its own IP address to a DHCP client (wired or wireless) as the default gateway, blocking access to the LAN router.
The only solution is to unplug the EA-N66 and allow the DHCP client to request a new LAN IP.

Other Thoughts: A firmware upgrade could easily fix this problem making the EA-N66 a great device. Otherwise it is a good wireless access point.

1 out of 5 eggsNot worth the price. At all.

Pros: • Looks cool.
• Relatively easy setup.

Cons: I don't know where to begin with the cons. I had this thing up and running for about an hour before my great experience turned negative.

After I got the thing all set up and running, I had really a slow connection. I thought maybe I was too far from my router, so I moved the unit from off my desk, to across the room and up on the wall, a good 7 feet high.

It seemed all fine and dandy for about an hour, then suddenly I disconnected. I thought nothing of it at first, since I almost immediately reconnected to the internet, but then it just kept happening. I'd been disconnecting several times a minute for a good hour or so. What's worse about it is that it seems to trick my Network and Sharing Center in the Windows Control Panel into showing that I DO have a connection, but I don't. If it weren't for Dropbox's visual indication, I wouldn't even know I was disconnected. Even now, as I type this review, I've disconnected from the internet 5 times already, for several minutes at a time. Rebooting or going back to factory settings via the asusnetwork page does nothing to help.

I've spent more time today lagging or being disconnected from games and shows than online doing anything. It'll be a miracle if I can even manage to post this review.

Other Thoughts: I can't believe ASUS is selling this paperweight for $100. I used to swear by ASUS products and recommend them to just about everybody I knew, but this calling this thing a disappointment is an understatement.

What I think is most annoying I can put my 5 year old laptop in the same place as the adapter and still manage a stable connection.

Absolute garbage.
