5 out of 5 eggsWorking great!

Pros: -Super easy setup
-Excellent UI
-Stable
-Good wifi range
-Dual band
-Customizable with 3rd party firmware

Cons: none I can think of

Other Thoughts: I use this in a workplace environment to repeat free wifi and extend the range. Without it I am lucky to get 1 bar. With it I get a fairly stable 3-4 bars, very nice. Multiple users are connected to it all day streaming, with low throughput (free wifi).
I had issues with a fork of Merlin firmware. It constantly dropped the signal. Flashed back to stock and had no issues since.
The setup was the easiest I've ever seen. I took 2 days to set up DD-WRT with the same AP due to unexpected DHCP settings. This connected, grabbed the relevant info from the access point (Cisco business class AP) and filled the info in itself and just worked. ASUS software is top notch in my books. It is now repeating using it's own DHCP server, which is required to work with the AP and something the Linksys repeater I bought previously (re6500) could not do.
The Android app works quite well with this and stock firmware. It makes a great repeater.

5 out of 5 eggsSo far so good!!!

Pros: Ordered this router about 2-3 months ago and so far it's going strong as it was before!
- Read reviews how this router would die within couple of months so I took the chance and ordered it and so far it's doing well!
- The packaging was very well and it looked brand new (even though it's refurbished)
- Somewhat easy to install
- Great for multiple devices.
- For the 2.4ghz/5ghz I use the 2.4ghz for all mobile devices and laptops. For the 5ghz I use that only for gaming which is connected to my Xbox One and PC. Before I had this router my Xbox connection would always stay at strict NAT so whenever I hooked this router up it changed to Moderate which helped me a lot! I could finally join parties and talk to friend!
- Overall a good router so far!

Cons: I only have two dislikes which are:
- How the AC adapter is really small and skinny and I'm worried to slightly move my router because I don't want the AC adapter to bend.
- Where the power button is located right next to the AC adapter. AC adapter is an "L" shape so it'll get in the way of the power button.

Other Thoughts: I give this 5 stars because it hasn't randomly turned off like my old one and also how it's been doing after reading all the bad reviews.

JUST IN CASE, I bought the 1 year warranty with it, which I believe was maybe $5-10. In case this router glitches up, I'll replace it with the warranty since I'm actually in love with this router.

5 out of 5 eggsBought 12 months ago, consider it good value

Pros: Have had this for just over a year without any problems. Usually have eight to twelve devices -- desktop, laptops, tablet, smartphones, BluRay player, printer -- connected at any time, some wired, most wifi. Wifi download speed is about 20% slower than using the ethernet ports. Easy setup, good speed, plays well with Zoom 5341J modem, price was right.

Cons: Have not had any problems

5 out of 5 eggsGreat router at a can't be beat price

Pros: - long range - penetrates throughout my 3 story house and covers yard with usable signal
- Can see it adapt to each position as you run speed test consectutively
- bought a second as a spare
Good user interface to set up

Cons: - not for non technical people to set up - lots of options some items not obvious but not hard to figure out or google.

Other Thoughts: - can't use as repeater unless you flash with DDWRT

5 out of 5 eggsV. Pleased , Router connected Immediately to SB6141 modem.

Pros: modern looks are nice (textured, black).
refurbished model works out of box (plain-white)
default GUI is nice

Cons: Device looks sleek ... until requisite network cable connections ruin "the look".
the (itty, bitty, mini) PWR-plug is SMALLEST I've ever seen.
position of OFF-switch can be annoying
stand is not ideal.
all mini-LED lights in a row ; preferred if : separate & group

Other Thoughts: I was apprehensive when device "recommended" f/w update before completed "setup"?
even with both radios OFF, device seems run "warm"
Antennas noticeable larger than those on DIR-655 it's replacing

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Performance and Price

Pros: Refurbished model cost almost 50% of new model.
WAN / LAN / Wifi throughput is excellent.
WRT Merlin support is excellent
Seems very stable so far

Cons: Comes with minimum accessories

Other Thoughts: Running 2 weeks in a secondary network with Security Camera and NAS using WIFI / LAN constantly without issue. I have purchased 3 of these refurbished models (myself, mother, and neighbor) and all have been reliable so far.

Refurbished items can be risky. Its the luck of the draw. I just purchased 2 refurbished Asus RT-AC68P and both had issues.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat router

Pros: This router is great. It only took me around 15 minutes from scratch to un-box it, flash the latest custom wrt firmware and finish the remaining basic network setup.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Be aware, the 66U wrt firmware work with the 66R. Just flash the 66U file and all works perfectly.

5 out of 5 eggsPlug & Play

Pros: This router is very simple install. It is as easy as plug, install cd, & play. I have used several companies in the past for routers and I would buy this one again.

Cons: I haven't found one yet. If so I will update.

5 out of 5 eggsOne of the best!

Pros: Installed DD-WRT
Fast

Cons: The fact that there's no difference between the N66U and the N66R just so some retailers don't have to price match.

Other Thoughts: I purchased a N66U for my main router a year ago and flashed it with DD-WRT. But I needed to upgrade the wireless bridge my gaming desktop was using. When I saw the price for this refurbished N66R I knew it was the same hardware as my U model. So I took the chance and it works great. I flashed it with DD-WRT and configured it to be a wireless bridge for my desktop!

3 out of 5 eggsdied

Pros: excellent coverage

Cons: the router just went dead.

Other Thoughts: It was very good router while it lasted, but for its price, should last longer.
