ASUS

The ASUS PCE-AC68 is a new 802.11ac Wi-Fi PCI Express adapter which upgrades your desktop from tangle-some Ethernet cables to carefree industry-leading 802.11ac at up to 1.3Gbps. Plus, the stylish external magnetized antenna base gives you more flexibility in adjusting antenna placement to get the best signal reception quality possible.

ASUS ASUS

Fastest Wi-Fi standard: 802.11ac

The PCE-AC68 uses Broadcom’s new 5th generation Wi-Fi 802.11ac chipset to reach speeds of up to 1.3Gbit/s through the 5GHz band, which is three times faster than 802.11n Wi-Fi. At the same time, it maintains full backward compatibility with all previous Wi-Fi protocols, providing high performance two-way transmission while ensuring a smooth transition to 802.11ac and seamless interconnection with existing devices.

ASUS ASUS

Next-generation Wi-Fi on both bands!

Broadcom TurboQAM™ hardware integrated on the PCE-AC68 brings the speed benefits of next-generation 802.11ac Wi-Fi to both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands. At 600Mbit/s and 1.3Gbit/s respectively, they turn the PCE-AC68 into a formidable AC1900 wireless adapter, providing speeds that cannot be bettered by generic wireless adapters. Connect the PCE-AC68 to ASUS networks to attain the very highest possible Wi-Fi speeds.

ASUS

ASUS

Extend and strengthen your wireless connection

ASUS AiRadar intelligently strengthens wireless device connectivity using precise directional signal amplification for extended coverage, increased data-throughput speed, and enhanced stability. Wi-Fi-connection strength varies based on your environment, so the PCE-AC68 intelligently detects wireless router locations and ‘shapes’ data transmissions using three external antennas and high-powered beam-packing — assuring the fastest stable connection.

ASUS

ASUS

No more dead zones with 150% the coverage!

Powerful two-way transmission and a signal-boosting high-gain design give the PCE-AC66 improved two-way transmission that extends Wi-Fi range and coverage by up to 150% compared to generic client devices. This extended reach means the elimination of dead spots at any location, offering fast and uninterrupted HD streaming and smooth multiplayer gaming wherever you may be

ASUS

Flexible extended antenna placement

ASUS

The three detachable antennas of the PCE-AC68 can be placed remotely via bundled extension cables. A magnetized stand also comes in the box, which can easily attach to various surfaces for more placement options. By making the antennas mobile, the design offers more flexibility in choosing locations for better signal reception and quality.

ASUS

Stylish aluminum heatsink handles heat for extra stability

The added heatsink uses highly-conductive aluminum to remove heat from the chipset, ensuring greater reliability for non-stop operation. Lower temperatures translate into a more stable device in all climate conditions, even during hot summers, and greater stability means more consistent connectivity and longer product lifespan. Plus, the heatsink has been crafted for a stylish look, once more showing ASUS always goes beyond the spec.

5 out of 5 eggsFast, reliable, sexy red heatsink

Pros: It works
range extender... love this things range extender!!!

Cons: Blue LED... yet Red heatsink. Really ASUS??? REALLY? What about us OCD color scheme freaks out there? I mean sure its not that hard to swap the LED out but still for around a hundred bucks that type of mod shouldn't be needed.

Other Thoughts: It gets the job done, and does that job really well.

5 out of 5 eggsAnother Great Asus product.

Pros: great connection even with multiple obstructions
great stable drivers
easy installation
easy to use customizable mount

Cons: didn't buy sooner

Other Thoughts: I have had an array of tplink netgear, and alfa adapters over they years. All previous products were susceptible to connection vulnerabilties at range. The asus is stable, predictable and reliable and backed by an amazing company. I love all their stuff and my only regret is i didn't buy sooner ;and opted instead. for cheaper, inferior products. Never Again!

4 out of 5 eggsEasy to use. Software is a little buggy.

Pros: After the past 2-3 weeks using this wifi card I'm happy. I actually have a stable internet connection in my part of the house. I was using a Linksys N900 USB wifi adapter and it would constantly drop signal or overheat and stop working all together which if you are a gamer like me, isn't good. not to mention it would only connect to my router upstairs at 130mbps out of the 300 its supposed to and drop to 5.5 and constantly change. The external antenna on this thing has a magnetic base which allows me to place it on my desktop sidewall which is nice. It makes it easier (along with wifi analyzer) to find the best spot to get good reception.

Cons: First off the software is a bit buggy. The drivers and utility software on the disc provided works fine. but once I updated them via ASUS website my signal dropped from 450-600 down to 144mbps. then the utility software wouldn't work at all. I tried numerous times uninstalling the software and reinstalling then updating and same results. So I'm sticking with the older drivers. Don't get me wrong I know the house I'm in is poor for Wi-Fi signal in the first place but for it to deliver robust signal before driver updates then the continuous crashing of the ASUS utility is a real headache. Second off the blue led on the back of the card for the connection status is a bit annoying. If only there was a way to disable it or change the color to go with the build I have. Its a bit of an eyesore shining off my wall against my red led black build. But I can manage since it gives me such a robust connection. (long as you don't update the drivers)

Other Thoughts: If you have a compatible ac1900 or higher router id recommend this card. It gives you a stable connection. Id rate this a 4-4.5 out of 5 eggs because of the software issue but for the price to performance its worth it. If you are a desktop gamer and cant hardwire don't waste your time with usb cards. Get a pci wifi card like this and save yourself the time and heartache of not being able to game properly. But as I said before. . . . Don't bother with the driver updates.

1 out of 5 eggsWill not connect to 5G

Pros: None!

Cons: It used to connect at AC speeds now it will not! Just wasted two hours trying to get it to connect to my Nighthawk 7000 routers 5G connection!

5 out of 5 eggsGood wireless card.

Pros: I know a lot of people do not like the stand that you can attach the antennas to but I do. It keeps the antennas from cluttering the back of my case and getting in the way of cables. Of course that is just me. It was super easy to setup and install, I have yet to go to ASUS's website and download new drivers and it works with windows 10 just fine so far.

Cons: The cord from the antenna base to the back of the computer is kinda short. It would have been nice if it was a couple feet longer.

Other Thoughts: I have an older duel band router at 5ghz and my connection speed is constantly at 450Mb/s. I can only recall once that the speed was 405Mb/s. I also have 100Mb/s cable internet and my downloads on Steam are always right at 12.5MB/s which is more than fast enough for me.

5 out of 5 eggsGreatest buy of my life?

Pros: This thing makes it feel like you are plugged directly into your router. It is super fast and never drops. If you are no where near your router or just don't feel like using an Ethernet cord then this MUST BE YOUR CHOICE!

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsIncredibly fast and great range

Pros: This wifi card is amazing. My pc is 50 ft from the router and I'm able to use my 5ghz network at a full 5 bars. Great range. Good looking in a case with a window. Worth the price.

Cons: None so far.
