ASUS

The ASUS PCE-AC68 is a new 802.11ac Wi-Fi PCI Express adapter which upgrades your desktop from tangle-some Ethernet cables to carefree industry-leading 802.11ac at up to 1.3Gbps. Plus, the stylish external magnetized antenna base gives you more flexibility in adjusting antenna placement to get the best signal reception quality possible.

ASUS ASUS

Fastest Wi-Fi standard: 802.11ac

The PCE-AC68 uses Broadcom’s new 5th generation Wi-Fi 802.11ac chipset to reach speeds of up to 1.3Gbit/s through the 5GHz band, which is three times faster than 802.11n Wi-Fi. At the same time, it maintains full backward compatibility with all previous Wi-Fi protocols, providing high performance two-way transmission while ensuring a smooth transition to 802.11ac and seamless interconnection with existing devices.

ASUS ASUS

Next-generation Wi-Fi on both bands!

Broadcom TurboQAM™ hardware integrated on the PCE-AC68 brings the speed benefits of next-generation 802.11ac Wi-Fi to both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands. At 600Mbit/s and 1.3Gbit/s respectively, they turn the PCE-AC68 into a formidable AC1900 wireless adapter, providing speeds that cannot be bettered by generic wireless adapters. Connect the PCE-AC68 to ASUS networks to attain the very highest possible Wi-Fi speeds.

ASUS

ASUS

Extend and strengthen your wireless connection

ASUS AiRadar intelligently strengthens wireless device connectivity using precise directional signal amplification for extended coverage, increased data-throughput speed, and enhanced stability. Wi-Fi-connection strength varies based on your environment, so the PCE-AC68 intelligently detects wireless router locations and ‘shapes’ data transmissions using three external antennas and high-powered beam-packing — assuring the fastest stable connection.

ASUS

ASUS

No more dead zones with 150% the coverage!

Powerful two-way transmission and a signal-boosting high-gain design give the PCE-AC66 improved two-way transmission that extends Wi-Fi range and coverage by up to 150% compared to generic client devices. This extended reach means the elimination of dead spots at any location, offering fast and uninterrupted HD streaming and smooth multiplayer gaming wherever you may be

ASUS

Flexible extended antenna placement

ASUS

The three detachable antennas of the PCE-AC68 can be placed remotely via bundled extension cables. A magnetized stand also comes in the box, which can easily attach to various surfaces for more placement options. By making the antennas mobile, the design offers more flexibility in choosing locations for better signal reception and quality.

ASUS

Stylish aluminum heatsink handles heat for extra stability

The added heatsink uses highly-conductive aluminum to remove heat from the chipset, ensuring greater reliability for non-stop operation. Lower temperatures translate into a more stable device in all climate conditions, even during hot summers, and greater stability means more consistent connectivity and longer product lifespan. Plus, the heatsink has been crafted for a stylish look, once more showing ASUS always goes beyond the spec.

5 out of 5 eggsGreatest buy of my life?

Pros: This thing makes it feel like you are plugged directly into your router. It is super fast and never drops. If you are no where near your router or just don't feel like using an Ethernet cord then this MUST BE YOUR CHOICE!

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsIncredibly fast and great range

Pros: This wifi card is amazing. My pc is 50 ft from the router and I'm able to use my 5ghz network at a full 5 bars. Great range. Good looking in a case with a window. Worth the price.

Cons: None so far.

5 out of 5 eggsExactly what I needed

Pros: I recently moved into a house and had to setup the wireless modem on the main level. My PC is on the second floor and opposite side of the house. I was toying with the idea of wiring the whole house up but opted to give this wireless adapter a go first. I get full bars and speed, works perfectly right out of the box.

Cons: If I had to come up with something negative to say it would be that the antenna is a bit big and bulky. However, that being said, the end result makes it a very fair trade-off.

Other Thoughts: I would definitely recommend this product and should I have a need to setup another PC so far away from the modem/router I will get another one.

4 out of 5 eggsASUS PCE-AC68 Dual-band Wireless-AC1900 Adapter (Is probably best on market)

Pros: It is fast, it maxes out my wireless connection for my modem, and looks fantastic (I don't like the gold though) has a great signal to noise ratio, has 3 antennas (Even though it is dual-band??? guess this probably has something to do with the software and base than anything else) and never heats up (Unless it is touching the backplate of my R9 390, which it is so heats up like the freaken sun! but still runs stable so haven't cared to move it <Shows how well built it is> )

Cons: The antennas swivel adapters attached to the antenna got loose and one broke, so ended up having to solder one of them (Probably my fault for moving it around too much) the base does not really have much of a use for me and feels like it added unnecessary pricing onto the product (Should be sold separate in my opinion) Has the gold lettering on it (Is an ASUS thing but they should stop doing it). when first got it (1 year ago) the drivers gave me all kinds of issues (and when upgrading to Windows 10) but has been sorted out so you guys redeemed yourselves there.

Other Thoughts: Yes, if anyone is looking for WiFi and no option for running wired I want to see this thing in your system (Or at least something on par with performance) WiFi is terrible without something that can handle near to wired speeds.
If only there was not gold lettering on it (Or how about matte black color scheme for your top of the line products ASUS???)

1 out of 5 eggsNot Impressed

Pros: The card was easy to install and get going.

Cons: This card does not perform as advertised.

Other Thoughts: I moved into a new home about two months ago and I thought that this card would be perfect for setting up my desktop to be wireless. I didn't want to have to run cable to maintain a high speed on my home network.

My router is an ASUS RT-AC68P which I really like. However, this card will only connect at 300mbps. I've tried to make configuration changes to the card and this is the best speed that I've been able to get.

I have an ASUS notebook with an AC wireless card and it will connect to the same router at 780mbps.

I don't recommend this card.

2 out of 5 eggsShould be Amazing

Pros: Unfortunately this review is biased as I have had very poor performance for this piece of hardware. I will say the one pro is after the initial update it always finds the wireless network.

Cons: There is no reliability in connection or speed via this device. I have often been finding myself grabbing another laptop or tablet to view content as it takes twice as long to load if not more by using this adapter. I would recommend any other wireless adapter over this one simply out of the fact I know this does not work as directed.

Wireless modem: Netgear Nighthawk
Windows 10
5ghz band connection

Other Thoughts: I'm unsure the need to have an additional hub to connect to wireless networks as if Operating Systems do not already offer this. The advanced network configurations might be useful for a power user but the need install the software by default which then offers this is overkill. Please re-consider the need to employ devs for this and instead focus on guaranteeing basic function and comparability.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Card

Pros: 3 way antenna, diagnostic software, easy install, high quality construction,

Cons: color scheme

Other Thoughts: Card was installed in less than 3 mins. Booted right into beast mode. Very little tweaking of the antennas brought out a signal strength of -26db and a speed of 1300mbps. Bandwidth is same as Ethernet, zero loss. For a passive home use antenna, that is pretty impressive. Only down side is I have a black themed box... silver brackets and red card don't fit in. Not much bad to say about this card.

5 out of 5 eggsSUPER FAST

Pros: I have 100mb/s internet.

From across the house, through 7 walls, I get 100mb/s. Absolutely no loss of speed.

This is the absolute top of the line, you can't beat it.
It's also under $100, so why not get the best?

Also the antenna looks super cool mounted on my wall, like I'm some kind of 80's tech hacker.

Cons: Cord for the antenna is very short, and not modular. You can disconnect the 3 cords from the computer, but not from the antenna. If the cords gets messed up, you're outta luck.

5 out of 5 eggsLow ping, no more overheat issues

Pros: - Strong signal reception.
- External Antenna provided
- PCI E
- Windows 10 supported

Cons: - Antenna wire too short to put elsewhere than on the computer itself.
- Expensive

Other Thoughts: I replace an USB cisco N protocol with this. The USB was overheating, loosing connexion and had a relly weak signal. This upgrade fix all thoses issues.

This is a really good product. Don't be fooled by a lot of bad reviews complaning about windows 10 drivers. You have to download the last NON-BETA driver on asus site and it work like a charm.

5 out of 5 eggsASUS AC1900 Adapter

Pros: This adapter does everything promised. Paired with my ASUS AC1750 router, I do not see any drop in speed vs Ethernet. I ran several tests thinking I would lose speed somewhere weather it be upload speed, or download speed. Test results- Same exact speed weather using Ethernet or wireless. This really suprised me. Like I said, I ran these test ALOT because I could not believe the performance of this adapter.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Simply Amazing! Great Job ASUS!
