4 out of 5 eggsgood wireless controller

This review is from: ASUS PCE-AC56 802.11ac Dual-band Wireless-AC1300 PCI-E Adapter

Pros: freedom to put my desktop anywhere i want
decent price
comes with external antenna base

Cons: cord on extension base is too short
bright red metal design (stands out like a sore thumb in my all-black system)
clunky 3rd party utilities (optional)

Other Thoughts: if you need high-speed wireless this is a good card. no issues connecting with my base station a few rooms away, getting decent speed and no lag. do wish the extension cords were longer, 6' or so. the 3rd party utilities are nothing to look at (really small window and text) but fortunately they are optional, just install the driver only and use windows management.

5 out of 5 eggsBest network adapter I ever owned

This review is from: ASUS PCE-AC56 802.11ac Dual-band Wireless-AC1300 PCI-E Adapter

Pros: I've had such bad luck with wireless adapters in the past. I've tried 4 different wireless cards in the past and they've all fallen short on me. Weather it be awful range, spotty 5GHz coverage, driver issues and one just up and died for no reason!

But this one is different. Right out of box the signal is strong. The antennas feel durable and well made. It seem to provide a pretty good boost.
5GHz mode works great. I've been using it at work for about a month issue without a single issue where as my previous card would constantly drop the 5GHz network :/

Windows 10 support works. Haven't had one issue with this on my windows 10 PC.

Cons: I wish the cord was a few feet longer. I'd love to mount this on the wall even higher for the best reception possible.

5 out of 5 eggsSuper good wifi network card

This review is from: ASUS PCE-AC56 802.11ac Dual-band Wireless-AC1300 PCI-E Adapter

Pros: the 802.11ac standard is almost as fast as a wired. amazing. the included utility software for the card is very useful. i use this in a 2k sq ft house with the router upstairs and this is in a downstairs media gaming PC connected to 60 inch TV. Works great, no stutter, no lag, 2.4 GHZ and 5 GHZ. Does Left for Dead, Battlefield, netflix all with no issues. love the antenna stand!

Cons: none, zero, zip nadda.

Other Thoughts: would recommend and buy again for other PC's. 1 wifi card, any router.

3 out of 5 eggs2.4 band was good, but...

This review is from: ASUS PCE-AC56 802.11ac Dual-band Wireless-AC1300 PCI-E Adapter

Pros: The utility installed easy and was great. very easy to navigate. When connecting to the 2.4Ghz band there were no issues.

Cons: Every time I attempted to use the 5Ghz band (which was why I purchased it) the speed would drop off after only a minute or 2. It would still be connected to the router, but no speed whatsoever. I grabbed my TP-LINK AC1200 and connected with that to my router on the 5Ghz band and had no trouble.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat product! Easy to set up and use! :)

This review is from: ASUS PCE-AC56 802.11ac Dual-band Wireless-AC1300 PCI-E Adapter

Pros: Uh...It turns your desktop wireless! What's not to love about that. Though, you'll always get higher MBPS with ethernet, BUT if you have a high MBPS with your internet provider you will be more than good to go!

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Recommended.

Cons: Nothing yet.

Other Thoughts: Instantly doubled my network throughput speed on an older desktop system.

5 out of 5 eggsLighting!

This review is from: ASUS PCE-AC56 802.11ac Dual-band Wireless-AC1300 PCI-E Adapter

Pros: Since I had never used anything but LAN connection in my home and wires were starting to look like an Italian Dinner I decided to give WiFi a chance and was impressed. Asus has a fantastic product in the PCE-AC56 and I plan to purchase another very soon. My speed increased 100 fold after picking this up and installing it. I am pleased to say I will never go back to wires again and Asus will be my choice for this product is as fast as lightning.

Cons: None, so again Cons belong in jail.
