5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Wireless Adapter

This review is from: ASUS PCE-AC56 802.11ac Dual-band Wireless-AC1300 PCI-E Adapter

Pros: Great speed. I have Verizon FIOS 75/75 and the wireless adapter in my secondary machine (AC from Intel) could never get higher than 30/30. This adapter does 75/75 without breaking a sweat. Well constructed and Windows 8.1 installs it's own Broadcom drivers. I installed the Asus drivers...and WOW!

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I purchased this adapter to work with the Buffalo AC1750 router that I "did" purchase from Newegg. They work incredibly well in tandem. Asus makes solid Wireless gear and this is right at the top.

5 out of 5 eggsEasy, awesome, and well priced

This review is from: ASUS PCE-AC56 802.11ac Dual-band Wireless-AC1300 PCI-E Adapter

Pros: Installing was incredibly straight forward, the range is great, and the speed is wonderful. The antennae's base is magnetic, which is really helpful for me. The card itself looks very sexy if your computer has a window in it.

Cons: The utility it comes with isn't so great. But hey, who cares!

Other Thoughts: Thanks Asus!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat WiFi card!

This review is from: ASUS PCE-AC56 802.11ac Dual-band Wireless-AC1300 PCI-E Adapter

Pros: To start off with this is an amazing card. all I did was install it into my computer, put in the driver CD, installed the drives, and boom it works! It also has a pretty decent range for not costing that much.

Cons: no cons thus far.

5 out of 5 eggsEast to install and setup

This review is from: ASUS PCE-AC56 802.11ac Dual-band Wireless-AC1300 PCI-E Adapter

Pros: I returned a TP-Link PCI-E junk card and got this Asus model. Such a huge difference as I installed it in about 2 minutes and set it up in Windows 8.1 in about 3 minutes with no errors, issues, or drops. I definitely get more wireless signal bars then before but I cant speak to the AC speed as I don't have a AC router yet

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Great feature including an external antenna stand as the two antennas are big

5 out of 5 eggsGreat product!

This review is from: ASUS PCE-AC56 802.11ac Dual-band Wireless-AC1300 PCI-E Adapter

Pros: Constructed to avoid heat and dissipates it properly in the case to be expelled. Looks fancy and was very simple to install.

I love the antenna options. Either you can have it mounted or use the card itself.

It's blazing fast. Drivers were simple to install. No nonsense.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsWorks like a charm!

This review is from: ASUS PCE-AC56 802.11ac Dual-band Wireless-AC1300 PCI-E Adapter

Pros: Holds a solid, strong wifi connection at full 802.11ac speed. Haven't had a single drop out unlike with my laptop's wifi card which was also 802.11ac. Easy to install. The included software is very good, too.

Cons: I can't think of any.

Other Thoughts: Not cheap - but neither is quality. I really like this card.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat network card

This review is from: ASUS PCE-AC56 802.11ac Dual-band Wireless-AC1300 PCI-E Adapter

Pros: way better Than a usb stick. My normal download speeds were 1.8-1.9 mb/sec on a netgear usb stick. now its 2.3-2.5 mb/sec much faster... expensive yes but you pay for what you get remember that.

Cons: None

1 out of 5 eggsDoes not work with 8.1

This review is from: ASUS PCE-AC56 802.11ac Dual-band Wireless-AC1300 PCI-E Adapter

Pros: Looks cool

Cons: Might as well be a paper weight for me. I called Asus support after trying everything I could think of under the sun to get it to work: reinstalling, disabling driver and reenabling, editing the registry, etc and they said they don't support 8.1 not only with this card but all their wireless cards. Which is kind of a bummer considering that 10 will be out soon. The last hit came when trying to return it Newegg charged me 12 bucks to send it back in. Hopefully this new card I ordered will work with my OS. The rating is low just because it didn't work for me. I'm sure this thing works great with other OS's it supports as most Asus products do.

Manufacturer Response:

On behalf of ASUS we apologize for any inconvenience this issue has caused you but let me go ahead and further assist you. Can I have more information about the unit's issue? are you able to install the driver for this adapter? have you tried using the adapter to a different computer just to compare?

5 out of 5 eggsRock Solid Performance!

This review is from: ASUS PCE-AC56 802.11ac Dual-band Wireless-AC1300 PCI-E Adapter

Pros: Pros;
1. Stable High Speed Connection, Gaming level speeds
2. Range on this device is very impressive for the price.
3. Packet loss is almost 0.
4. Software is actually usable
5. Cosmetically looks attractive
6. Operates at a low temperature during full load the heat sink is very effective at cooling.

Cons: Cons:
1. Antenna are large for my small form factor case.
2. Antenna do not stay the direction I place them over time they sag.

*Note careful with wire management around the heat shield fan wires can become lodged in the nooks of the heat sink. (My own fault)

Other Thoughts: For the price point this is one of the better wireless networking products I have owned. Asus products have been my more successful networking items. Over the last 10 years only 1 bad item compared to other brands where I have experienced a much lower life span on comparable products.
