5 out of 5 eggsGreat product! Easy to set up and use! :)

This review is from: ASUS PCE-AC56 802.11ac Dual-band Wireless-AC1300 PCI-E Adapter

Pros: Uh...It turns your desktop wireless! What's not to love about that. Though, you'll always get higher MBPS with ethernet, BUT if you have a high MBPS with your internet provider you will be more than good to go!

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Recommended.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect.

This review is from: ASUS PCE-AC56 802.11ac Dual-band Wireless-AC1300 PCI-E Adapter

Pros: Great speed. The Asus WLAN Card utility is nice too. Helped me to decide which channels were most available in my complex.

Cons: Nothing yet.

Other Thoughts: Instantly doubled my network throughput speed on an older desktop system.

5 out of 5 eggsLighting!

This review is from: ASUS PCE-AC56 802.11ac Dual-band Wireless-AC1300 PCI-E Adapter

Pros: Since I had never used anything but LAN connection in my home and wires were starting to look like an Italian Dinner I decided to give WiFi a chance and was impressed. Asus has a fantastic product in the PCE-AC56 and I plan to purchase another very soon. My speed increased 100 fold after picking this up and installing it. I am pleased to say I will never go back to wires again and Asus will be my choice for this product is as fast as lightning.

Cons: None, so again Cons belong in jail.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Little Adaptar

This review is from: ASUS PCE-AC56 802.11ac Dual-band Wireless-AC1300 PCI-E Adapter

Pros: - Fast as hell!
- Very easy to install
- Consistent speeds

Cons: - DOES NOT IMPROVE WIRELESS SIGNAL
- Pricey
- Does not come with screw

Other Thoughts: Just got this wireless adapter today, and took me 5 minutes (max) to install. One problem I first encountered was that it did not come with a screw to hold it in place, so I had to take one from my power supply, which was a little annoying. I booted up my computer and the device was instantly recognized by Windows 8.1. When I logged on, I found myself disappointed with the WiFi strength I was getting. My computer is located approximately 30 ish feet away from my router and I was getting around 2-3 bars of signal, which was what I was getting with my Chromebook.

Anyways, I ignored the small 2 bars sitting at the bottom of my screen and headed to the real test, Internet Speed Test. I pressed the big begin button and instantly gave me results that made me smile a little. I was getting 10ms, 130 down and 10 up, on a 100 down and 10 up package. This is what really impressed me at the end of the day. Being able to get wired connection speeds and ping is just amazing now! The signal bars still bug me a little, but I know that they mean nothing.

I would totally recommend this adapter to anyone if you don't mind seeing 2 or 3 bars.

5 out of 5 eggsThis is my second one!

This review is from: ASUS PCE-AC56 802.11ac Dual-band Wireless-AC1300 PCI-E Adapter

Pros: Very reliable piece of hardware. They way my set up was I couldn't get a hardwired connection to my computer so I bought this one to solve the issue. I do a fair amount of gaming and a lot of web surfing, between watching YouTube and planning my next upgrade for my computer I haven't experienced any lag or or issues with my connection to the internet. Its also red, which matches my build so that also makes me happy.

Cons: Not all the software supports windows 10. This doesn't concern me much as I don't see much value in the extra software that comes with it, all I care about is that it connects to my router and gives me internet so I'm happy.

Other Thoughts: It would be nice if they gave you the option to change the color from red to say, green. I have another build that I did with all white and green parts and this stood out like a sore thumb.

Updating the software to be compatible with windows 10 would be a plus, but like I said, its not a make or break for me. The card still surpassed my expectations and that's all that matters to me.

If you find your not having a good experience with this card look into a better router or a better internet provider.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Wireless card. Great Download speeds.

This review is from: ASUS PCE-AC56 802.11ac Dual-band Wireless-AC1300 PCI-E Adapter

Pros: - Connects to my router on the other side of the house without issue
- Speed tests are excellent once I got a matching AC Type Router. not as good with my original Wireless N router but I was planing on getting the new router anyway for this card so not much of an issue.

Cons: - NONE.

Other Thoughts: - I would recommend getting a wireless AC router for this card. I still use my N router for other devices in my house. That router is somewhat old and has a lot connected to it which could have also contributed to the slower speed on it. but if your gonna get it, it's better to have the router to go with its capabilities.
- this is the first wireless AC type device I have used and I can tell you its speeds are much better than what I have seen on a/b/g/n networks

1 out of 5 eggsOK, but terrible support

This review is from: ASUS PCE-AC56 802.11ac Dual-band Wireless-AC1300 PCI-E Adapter

Pros: fits easily. Thin with heat sink, large antennas.

Cons: Support. Software cd will not install correctly.

Other Thoughts: I would not recommend this product. It will not use the N standard, only g for my system. I called their support, they could not get my name right. I called back, the woman asked me what a wireless network card is? I will never buy ASUS again just because of the support. The dumbest of the dumb, I wish I had youtubed the calls. They were not even laughable, I was just upset on how stupid they really were.

Pros: Has Win 10 drivers
Strong/Fast connection.

Cons: The extender cable is too short.
