Good For the Money
- Pros: Inexpensive, RPSMA connector for external antenna, Easy Install, Decent range
- Cons: Connection software lacking features and perhaps a bit buggy. The installed antenna is probably 2 or 2.5 dbi. There doesn't seem to be any way to keep them from going in to power saving mode.
- Other Thoughts: I've purchased five of these now. They all work just fine and as mentioned above, they all have good range and I'm particularily happy with the ability to pigtail to better antennas. I had problems with the connection software on a couple of machines. I had to use WXP Wireless Zero Config for the one in an XP machine and then it worked fine. The only thing I really don't like about these is that there are no advanced properties for the adapter config so you can't keep them from going into power saving mode. That makes them difficult to deal with in my network environment where a couple of wireless machines need to serve files a few times a day. The drivers and software could be more robust, but they operate well enough for the price.
- Pros: Low price adapter was going to use as a spare But change it to my personail use long range and fast
- Cons: none
Good WiFi adapter
- Pros: Price.
- Cons: Use the CD for the driver only. The manual is somewhat confusing. Just install the card in your maching. Use windows device manager to update the drivers and you'll be fine. The software that is comes with to manage the wifi connections isn't that great. Just use the XP wifi manager.
- Other Thoughts: Couldn't get it to work in my linux machine. I didn't spend much time troubleshooting. It is recommended to find a WiFi card with Linux driver to support if you are going to go that route.
