5 out of 5 eggsBest bluetooth adapter out there!

Pros: Works with XP Pro, Windows 7 32 & 64 bit, and Windows 8.1 64 bit.

Cons: Sometimes won't connect automatically.

Other Thoughts: I've tried a lot of bluetooth adapters and this is bar far the best one. It has worked on every computer and operating system that I have tried. I own two of them.

1 out of 5 eggsDoes not work as advertised

Pros: ZERO

Cons: I bought this looking forward to an upgrade to Windows 8. I am currently using 8.1 pro 64-bit. This appears in the Windows Compatibility Center as OK to use. The native windows drivers see the device but it the device won't connect to anything. The Azio drivers (from the website) work and connect properly, but interfere with Windows 8. Something about them prevents Win 8 from being able to restart with advanced options (safe mode, etc.) which work fine with the device removed.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great

Pros: Easy to install, Secure with lots of options. range is very good. about 20-30 feet. used this to connect a BT headset to my PC for gaming. works best without installing any software. (win7). FAST. I also use this to send files to and from my phones and PC's.

Cons: After installing software it removed the ability to use a bluetooth headset.. Needs better audio controls for wireless headsets.

Other Thoughts: Great all around for all your Bluetooth needs. I expect in the future the abilities of this little device will become endless.

5 out of 5 eggsIt works on Windows 7

Pros: When I installed it the 1st time, it works, paired with my Logitech UE9000. Then I thought, what happened to those Windows 7 users reviews.....

Next day, power up my machine again.....things not good. Log in screen appeared but couldn't type. Reboot a few times, machine still frozen...finally reboot again in safe mode.

So I removed the Azio USB adapter, removed the CSR driver. Start over again.

I realized my Windows 7 machine (Sony) has a built in bluetooth, so I disabled that. But when I plugged in the USB adapter, Windows automatically installed a generic bluetooth radio driver. Now I disabled this generic driver as well. Followed by the CSR driver installation.

Things looking good, pairing was successful, with the 'CSR apt-x' picture appeared on the lower right screen for a second when it paired with my headphone.

Now, I rebooted.....No problem this time. And I tried for a few reboot, no more locking.

When I wrote this, I have been successfully using it for 3 days without freezing. (USB adapter plugged in all the time)

Yes, the Apt-x encoding does make a difference in sound quality. And the flashing blue light on the adapter is cute too !

Cons: No mention of disabling existing bluetooth driver for the CSR installation to work.

4 out of 5 eggsDoes what I need.

Pros: It works good with my blue tooth portable speaker without dropping a signal for music streaming. I get the range I need to play music in any room. Also works with my handheld keyboard/ mouse pad. I use Windows 8 Pro 64bit without any setup problems. I would say I move the speaker about 40' max through out the house to different rooms.

Cons: Plugging in the unit direct into a USB port, I wasn't getting the distance needed. Which was to use all over my house including a screened in porch. Once I connected to a USB extension cord and elevated a couple feet above computer, worked like a charm.

Other Thoughts: I would recommend a USB entension cord to get the results needed for distance if you need to go into other rooms. Kinda like an antenna if you will.

1 out of 5 eggsWorst Bluetooth Adapter, Ever.

Pros: Size? I guess the compact size is a good thing, as it won't take up much space in the garbage when it's thrown away.

Cons: The device is advertised as working with Window 7/8. Since there is no differentiation between a x86 and a x64, that would usually mean it'll work on both, right? Wrong.

Software 'loads' on a Windows 7 x64 computer, but then fails to do anything. The only thing it does accomplish to do is remove my ability to use Remote Desktop! How is that even possible? With the drivers installed, I cant use RDP to connect to another computer.

Other Thoughts: I guess I should have done a better job reading the reviews from others having the same issues. .NET anything doesn't make the software work. This is the first, and the last product of this manufacturer that I'll be purchasing.

1 out of 5 eggsnot as advertised

Pros: the installation is easy

Cons: does not let you stream audio, is not compatible with windows 7 64bit, I even tried it on a vista 32 bit and still could not stream audio. the phone connection is awful lats of lag.

Other Thoughts: I will keep this product, it took a week longer then it said to get and the results of how it works are not very good.

2 out of 5 eggsNOT compatible with Win7 x64

Pros: Very compact size, Bluetooth 4.0, tech support responsive via email.

Cons: Misleadingly advertised as "compatible with Windows 7". Was excited to have A2DP so I can play/control music from my phone on my PC sound system. Went to install the CSR Harmony Bluetooth stack that's included and required to use A2DP, but got errors in the drivers. Tried all kinds of things but couldn't get it to work. Contacted tech support, and received the following response. I already had .NET Framework 4, so that wasn't the problem.

Subject: RE: BTD-V400 driver problem

Hi Maximillian,
When the driver software was programmed, CSR never provided support for Windows 7 64bit. They have discontinued this driver software and we will not be seeing any update to it. We are in search of a driver software to support Windows 7 64bit as we speak. However, this does not pertain to all users of Windows 7 64bit. What you can try is to uninstall CSR Harmony, update your Windows (.NET Framework 4), then reinstall CSR Harmony. This suggestion is actually from a user that experienced a problem with the software and this resolved that user’s issues.

Best Regards,

Other Thoughts: This would be a great BT adapter if it would've been compatible with Win7 x64.

1 out of 5 eggsBuggy

Pros: meh.

Cons: The drivers that come with it don't work well at all on XP. I installed it on two different XP laptops and both times it didn't install correctly on the first try. Took about a half hour each time. Also, if you want to switch between two bluetooth speakers or go to wired speakers you usually will have to physically remove the device as the software simply doesn't work.
