1 out of 5 eggsPowerlink Speedy2 PT-H10DN-1W

Pros: Small and inexpensive (make that cheap)

Cons: Doesn't work in my Dell Win7 64 bit system. Can't find a functional driver anywhere.

Other Thoughts: Don't waste your money.

5 out of 5 eggsExceeded expectations

Pros: Small (without the antennas it's palm-sized), easy to use, works amazingly. I bought it to connect to my landlord's router with about 200 feet and 4 walls between us. It's far enough away that I dont usually get wifi on my Galaxy S4. I went from ~1mbps unstable with a cheap usb antenna, to ~30mbps with no hiccups.

Cons: The cord is rather sturdy, which is a drawback when the antenna unit is so light. The cord dictates how the antenna lays rather than the antenna weighing down the cord. If only it had a simple suction cup or something.

Other Thoughts: The antennas are a little fragile/flimsy, but that hasn't made a difference.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat wireless adapter, but no longer works on Ubuntu

Pros: Easy to use, great speeds, reliable connection.

Cons: No longer supports Ubuntu.

Other Thoughts: I got this adapter because I moved my desktop too far from our home router to reasonably use a cable. I purchased this product because I read that it worked well on Linux. I was using Ubuntu 11.10, and the adapter worked perfectly out of the box, no driver installation, no configuration. Speed was great, connection was consistent. Unfortunately after I upgraded to 12.04 the connection was spotty and the speeds were mind-shatteringly slow. Obviously a driver issue, but I could never get the PremierTek-supplied driver to work (I'm a tech-oriented person and have used Linux for a while, but I have to admit that being given source code and an uncommented, out-of-date makefile was a bit daunting for me). I'm still giving 4 stars because on the right OS this is a great product, and because on a simple cheap product like this I don't care much about customer service. That being said, their customer service was TERRIBLE. As mentioned above, I was given a link to a source code package to compile myself based on a poorly written out of date readme, with a makefile I had to figure out how to customize myself (mostly unsuccessfully). Tech support was unresponsive, and since my last email I did some online research, purchased a new wireless adapter from Newegg, and have it up and running on my machine, and still haven't heard back from tech support. Overall I would say *with the right OS* this is a great product, but don't buy it if you're using a recent version of Ubuntu (anything after 11.10).

3 out of 5 eggsWorks but not stable for large file transfers

Pros: Get almost full 300 Mbps with my Asus N66 router for surfing the net.

Cons: The speed drops to 1 Mbps when I start transferring large files/backing up to my NAS. I would not recommend this if you are going to be transferring large amount of data between your NAS and PC.

1 out of 5 eggsGreat Signal. Defective Product

Pros: -I was able to connect this device and install the driver without fail.
-Signal strength is amazing. Extremely better than any other product I have used.
-Looks okay for how big it is

Cons: -I ended up sending the product back for a refund and trying a different product
-The device would constantly disconnect and reconnect from the computer, its as if the USB connection to the front of the device is way to sensitive or defective.
-I tried the device in multiple computers and USB2.0 and USB3.0 ports, still disconnected every few minutes or so and then reconnected. Obviously this is unacceptable, and hinders the device useless.

--Applause to Newegg for make the defective RMA nice and easy. I am kind of sad I still had to pay for shipping to return a defective item.

2 out of 5 eggsEH

Pros: It was inexpensive and has a decent speed. The cons are not really noticeable if you just use it for general internet use.

Cons: It drops signal strength a lot. It is really unstable and if you play any games that involve an internet connection you WILL notice. My latency will go from 80 to 500 and then 10 seconds later back to down to 80. I ran several speedtests one right after another and realized that the signal is not very constant even next to the router.

Other Thoughts: Good for normal use of a computer.
Not good for a gamer.

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Easy to set up, lightweight.

Cons: Claims to average 250-300 mbps, actually about 130 from a router 20 feet from it.

5 out of 5 eggsWorking like a champ

Pros: It installed with no CD, it's connecting to my ancient LinkSys from 2004 and achieving 2 MBps speeds. It detects far more wifi networks than the wifi built into my laptop (owing to the large dual antennae no doubt.

Cons: None yet.
