1 out of 5 eggsNetis Router

Pros: Nice looking cosmetics.

Cons: I have other routers from Net Gear and this is by far the worst I have ever bought. Connectivity is poor and requires continuos rebooting. Instructions for setup are barely understandable. Do not buy.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks great as a repeater\bridge

Pros: I needed a cheap wireless bridge, it doesn't have a bridge mode in the drop down selection, but I selected repeater mode. In repeater, I disabled DHCP, set the wifi security to match my main AP. It connected to the main AP with no probs (Gave the Netis a statis IP on the main router). The netis allowed me to use the same SSID as the main AP or use a different SSID, no requirements here. This setup allowed me to connect wirelessly and see my network and connect to the internet, but I needed to connect a smart TV via the LAN (thus the need for a bridge). At first the TV could not acquire an IP address or any info when plugged into the Netis, So I decided to manually set the IP, subnet, gateway and DNS on the TV settings, Bingo it worked. I reconfirmed with my Windows 7 laptop that it needed to be manually set as well to connect via LAN cable.

Cons: Wish it had a setting that actually said bridge, it has a client mode but I need the devices to see other computers on the same LAN.

Other Thoughts: Repeater mode allows both repeating and LAN bridging as long as you manually set the IP for the client when connecting via cable.

4 out of 5 eggsReliable

Pros: My house makes wi-fi difficult. Not sure WHAT'S in all the walls but any kind of wireless signal on any device seems to struggle in this house. Given that, the Netis works quite well (it also comes back quickly and reliably when the power goes out (which it does with some regularity in this area)). I'm not blown away by the performance but I'm definitely satisfied

Cons: None to speak of...I'm about to order a second one to act as a repeater (my house is fairly large and I get a weak signal when outside or otherwise far from the router) and will see how that works.

4 out of 5 eggsNot too shabby

Pros: We have 20Mbps wired internet and the router usually delivers at the rated speed. It also has decent range and the connection two floors up is still pretty good.

Cons: (see other thoughts)

Other Thoughts: We've had some issues with the internet cutting out, usually once per day, but we aren't sure if it is because of the cable modem or not, which is the primary reason for the low rating.

1 out of 5 eggsWhen it works it's fair

Pros: Like I stated in the title, when it works it is fair.

Cons: Seemed to work ok for about a week, then it required constant reboots, etc, even with the newest firmware. Even went through and reset to factory settings and started over. Result, roughly 30 min of uptime. Netis support is less than a joke. Questions sent on email got nothing. Questions on the support forums for them have been there for years with no answers.

Other Thoughts: With the other quality units out there don't risk it on this thing. Spend a few bucks more and get something good. RUN FAR AWAY from ths thing!

1 out of 5 eggsWireless? what wireless?

Pros: Works as a wire router.

Cons: The wireless capacity on my unit is worthless. At 15 feet, with clear line of sight, the signal is lost on phone/ipod touch/laptop.
What's worse, when I called customer service a barely intelligible representative told me I needed to send an email to request support; well after more then 10 days, my email has gone without response.

Other Thoughts: Stay AWAY! Not worth it, even at the cheap price tag!

2 out of 5 eggsawful range

Pros: easy set up

Cons: Ours must be a lemon. Technically it works, but the range drops over a few feet away... Clear site and 15 feet my phone & ipod touch can't get any signal!
The settings are default, and i can see the power is 100%?! NOT sure what is wrong, but clearly a poor performer. (No microwave or other interference...?)

1 out of 5 eggsDidn't work. Returned it.

Pros: Looks nice. Has a smaller power supply than my old router.

Cons: It didn't work. My computer could see the router, but the router couldn't see the internet; I ran the setup wizard and it didn't help. So I hooked up my old 802.11g router, downloaded the latest Netis firmware and updated the new router. No change at all, it still didn't work.

Next step - filled out an RMA and returned this piece of junk.

Other Thoughts: Learn from my experience and avoid Netis equipment. Buy a router from a reliable company.

I have suggested to Newegg that they drop this cheapo no-name stuff; it's gotta cost them money to deal with it.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Excellent performance. Great RF range(adjustable) Plugged the unit in, set up took five minutes and its performance rivals that of brand names that cost many times more. Highly recommended.

Cons: So far none.
