4 out of 5 eggsGreat AC Wireless USB adapter

This review is from: NETIS WF2190 AC1200 Wireless High Gain USB 3.0 Adapter with Dual 5dBi Antenna & USB Cradle Extension Compatible with Windows MAC Linux OS

Pros: Getting over 800Mbs on this adapter on my old notebook that just had g wireless before. Really picks up the signals great. Easy install on Windows OS.

Cons: Poor Linux support, so far. Hard to get it working in Linux unless you are pretty experienced with the command line.

Other Thoughts: They do include a script file for Linux , but for the uninitiated getting support out to the linux repositories would bolster sales, and make it easy to use/install,. at least to the biggest ones like Ubuntu/Mint.

5 out of 5 eggsGood for wireless gaming

This review is from: NETIS WF2190 AC1200 Wireless High Gain USB 3.0 Adapter with Dual 5dBi Antenna & USB Cradle Extension Compatible with Windows MAC Linux OS

Pros: Well... where to start?

Network stability and range: I average 4~5 bars of wifi strength from ~20 Ft. away from my modem separated by two walls.

Speed: From a 5GHz dualband wireless router, Speed Test gave this 55 MB/s download speed and 10 MB/s upload (capped.) Realistically steam gave it 6.6 MB/s download speeds. My ISP uses DSL. I have not had issues with lag spikes or connection instability. Device also remains connected and operates 24/7 when needed.

Price: Fluctuates at times, but generally good from what I see. I had spent $80 on a wifi device at a local store that had various problems including bad packet data errors in Java based games. So compared to that one, I'm satisfied with this.

Etc. This device is silent. I'm susceptible to high pitched noises at times, this one emits none in my hearing range.

Cons: None to report at this time.

Other Thoughts: Some users have stated that the device tends to over heat, I must not put a constant strain on it enough to cause this, runs cool and doesn't have any noticeable lag spikes.

My first mistake was thinking I could simply buy a wifi device at a local store for $80. It gave bad network packet errors in games, encryption was sub-par, and the overall performance lacked.

This product meets expectations.

5 out of 5 eggsLinux User

This review is from: NETIS WF2190 AC1200 Wireless High Gain USB 3.0 Adapter with Dual 5dBi Antenna & USB Cradle Extension Compatible with Windows MAC Linux OS

Pros: High speeds, cross platform, and cool appearance.

Cons: In Linux, it requires internet connectivity to download the driver in the first place. As well, you have to reinstall (I recompiled it each time, but you might not have to) for each new kernel you update to.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks perfectly

This review is from: NETIS WF2190 AC1200 Wireless High Gain USB 3.0 Adapter with Dual 5dBi Antenna & USB Cradle Extension Compatible with Windows MAC Linux OS

Pros: Really really really fast. I had a TP Link something that would get 2 bars at most after a year of use, and a Belkin USB adapter that would drop my internet, this thing doesn't do either of that. I love how it comes with antenna, and that it is USB 3.0. My father in law bought a new USB adapter from wal mart for 40 dollars, and this thing is a lot faster for cheaper.

Cons: I dont have any cons for this thing.

5 out of 5 eggsAbsolutely Perfect

This review is from: NETIS WF2190 AC1200 Wireless High Gain USB 3.0 Adapter with Dual 5dBi Antenna & USB Cradle Extension Compatible with Windows MAC Linux OS

Pros: With the stock antenna it works great. Great range and very fast scanning and connectivity. I'm hitting 300 Mbps with a N router on a router 2 floors up on the opposite side of the building.

After replacing the antenna with 8Db high gain omni the range is insane. I can see all the networks for a few blocks. Wifi speeds exceeds 150Mbps throughput easily.

Way better then anything the other brands are capable of pulling off.

Cons: No cons other then the stock antenna not being as good as the 8Db antenna.

Other Thoughts: I took the advice of other reviewers and installed 2 TP-LINK TL-ANT2408CL Antenna's. The difference is truly significant and VERY worth it.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Performance

This review is from: NETIS WF2190 AC1200 Wireless High Gain USB 3.0 Adapter with Dual 5dBi Antenna & USB Cradle Extension Compatible with Windows MAC Linux OS

Pros: Great Performance

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: The connection manager that installs is buggy. I would download the latest driver and store it on a flash drive, then point to it when installing.

Pros: Plug and PLAY! From 72mbps to400 mbps in a heartbeat.

1 out of 5 eggsAnother junk adapter

This review is from: NETIS WF2190 AC1200 Wireless High Gain USB 3.0 Adapter with Dual 5dBi Antenna & USB Cradle Extension Compatible with Windows MAC Linux OS

Pros: Fast until it stopped working

Cons: constant signal drops, constantly turning off, 5Ghz died

Other Thoughts: Well it worked great for a few hours then it went down the drain. My whole system is brand new including the router. When it gets hot it just drops the signal and turns off like other cheap adapters. The 5Ghz never came back despite reinstalling the drivers 10 times. Back to the store for a refund

This review is from: NETIS WF2190 AC1200 Wireless High Gain USB 3.0 Adapter with Dual 5dBi Antenna & USB Cradle Extension Compatible with Windows MAC Linux OS

Pros: I must say that this is a snappy and high gain device. I need something with more speed and gain and this does it flawlessly. My connection is @ 117 Mbps compaired to my old device @ 72 Mbps.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Usb 3.0 is a big plus, also the connection never fails me.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Product Great Service

This review is from: NETIS WF2190 AC1200 Wireless High Gain USB 3.0 Adapter with Dual 5dBi Antenna & USB Cradle Extension Compatible with Windows MAC Linux OS

Pros: Flexible design - allows use of USB cradle or direct usb attachment
Easy setup - after I got the box open - no more that 5 minutes to attach the antennas, install software and drivers. Immediately recognized my home networks - done.
Greatly improved reception and speed. In area where I am not able to get a signal on internal wifi - now have 7mb download speeds

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: The service from newegg was great. I am a first time buyer - wow - ordered late on 23rd received on 27 - using regular shipping.

I have used this on a usb 2.0 windows 7 laptop and on my samsung ultra book usb 3.0 windows 8 - both installs were very easy. The usb wifi allows me to use my ultrabook in every room in the house - no more netflix stutter!
I have not tried it yet, but device allows for use as a hot spot -
