5 out of 5 eggsGreat if it's features meet your needs.

Pros: *Very inexpensive, great value.
*Great range, rivals others I have had that were more expensive.
*All the features are there for anyone looking for a router in this price range, and then some.

Cons: Rather light and is designed to stand upright. With a couple ethernet cables it is very prone to tipping over. Not a huge deal though as it seems well built enough.

Other Thoughts: Received this product to review and have spent several weeks with it. I guess it is a testament that I nearly forgot about it.

This router setup was quite easy. Needed information is located on the bottom of the router. I used the guided setup first and it worked flawlessly. I set this behind my main router (this could never replace it due to N150/only 2 wired ports/nonGigabit) and had 4 phones, two tablets, a smart TV, and one laptop connected. Everything worked as expected.

When I kicked our two main gaming PCs over to it's SSID I did notice some lag while gaming. One seemed to work fine but with both on top of the above listed devices is when the problems showed up. This is expected at the N150 speeds and I was actually surprised at how well it did perform with it's listed specs.

The range was great at this price point. I need to keep my routers in the basement and was able to get a reliable signal in my driveway which was not possible with a couple of my previous routers. This gave good reliable coverage.

This router is perfect for a household with a single wired computer and a few phones/tablets/laptops. At this it performs very well, especially in the range department. If you are sharing files, using a centralized NAS type setup to stream to multiple devices, or have more than one device gaming online this is not for you. But if you're doing that stuff you probably already know that.

If the rated speeds are not a limitation then this is a perfect router for you. I ended up giving it to my parents who have one PC, two phones, and a WD set top box and they love it. It has better range and speeds than their previous 54G device.

5 out of 5 eggsDoes it's job perfectly. Easy, cheap, simple.

Pros: Perfect for anyone that just wants an easy to manage internet connection for browsing the web and streaming videos.

Extremely easy to set up, no problems what so ever.

Small, compact, with quality parts.

Reliable: no problems encountered.

Fair signal strength.

Cons: Only two ethernet cable ports (most people don't need more than that anyways)

Other Thoughts: It does its job perfectly. This router is designed for anyone that wants to casually use the internet. The product is not designed to handle online gaming, speedy downloads, or large bandwidth.

If your looking for a quick and easy to use router for your small home or apartment, then look no further.

4 out of 5 eggsin your router, nomming your packets

Pros: So there I was, taking this router out of the box and the first thing I noticed was how thin the plastic felt. It seemed cheaply made but honestly for a $25 router you can't really complain too much. However the 2 (two) wired ports on this router did seem a little underwhelming in my opinion as well as the lack gigabit wired (10/100/1000).

Be that as it may, I digress, after turning off my DSL modem I hooked up this router in the place of my trusty Cisco Linksys WRT54GL then turned on this new router and proceeded to configurations. When you log-in to the router page to configure it there is a guided (wizard style) setup and a manual setup, I chose the manual setup (as I'm not really fond of guided setups) but both worked just fine as you ended up with the same result in the end.

After a quick 5-10 min tweaking of the settings I restarted the router then turned on the modem, two minutes later I was surfing the web like a boss! So wired worked just fine now to test the wireless portion. I grabbed a laptop i had lounging around not doing anything and got it all logged in and found the wireless just fine. after attempting to connect I checked the bottom of the router for the connection info (as seems to be the usual for routers these days) and a couple seconds later i was on the interwebs.

Cons: -Flimsy/cheap/thin material

-only 2 wired ports

-only supports 10/100 ethernet

Other Thoughts: All-in-all the software side is fairly easy and straight-forward to setup, and not much has really changed since the WRT54GL days as far as configuration. On the hardware side I must say I'm disappointed at the lack of gigabit wired ports (as well as the number of wired ports in general) and how flimsy and cheap it seems, but all that being said I can't really knock it for these cons as it IS a cheap router.

So in my opinion if you're looking for something to support a household that has MOSTLY wireless devices that is cheap and "disposable" then this is a pretty good choice. If your looking for something that can support a more robust wired network and/or rack mount ability and/or something more durable then you might want to look elsewhere as I wouldn't recommend using this one for frisby or croquet. Of course, that's only before its eventual demise or replacement!

5 out of 5 eggsInexpensive wireless n router

Pros: This is an inexpensive wireless n router that is easy to set up and use. You can do a guided setup or manual, or even save and restore settings.

All needed info is on bottom of router (access to router (www.mywifirouter.com (or 192.168.1.1)), username and password (admin/admin) and SSID and network key (set to WPA2-PSK [AES] by default).

Range and strength equal to routers costing 3x as much.

Comes with router, power cord and brick (plugs in sideways) and 1 Ethernet cable.

Has power switch on back that is easy to get to.

Seems to run cool.

Cons: Feels cheap and is a unknown brand.

Only 2 Ethernet ports, but it is clearly marked and easy to see in the pics, so not a huge con. Most households are getting more wireless than wired devices anyway.

Default wireless speed is set to "Up to 65Mbps", easily changed to 150, but you have to know to do it.

Molded in base so it can only be set vertically. Also feels a little unstable with cables pulling down on it, just a tap will knock it over with the power cable and 3 Ethernet lines plugged in.

Other Thoughts: Although a no name brand, for the price you really can't go wrong with this for someone who just needs basic wireless n connectivity. Just make sure you set the wireless speed to 150 for full speed.

Nothing really special about this router or its interface, but it just works well out of the box. Not sure of longevity, I have had it going for over a month and no issues or reboots needed yet, but it does have a 1 year warranty, but at $25, may just be easier to replace than deal with that (hopefully it is not an issue though).

4 out of 5 eggsCheap, small, effective simple router with wifi.

Pros: Yeah, it's small, cheap, few ports, wifi, but that may be all you need. Let's see how it performs. I always like to test absolute maximum possible speed. I transfer large, medium and small files from just 1 room over, the wired gigabit router with factory made Cat 6) and wireless AC so you can know what the possible maximum speeds are. I transfer from PC RAMDrive to PC RAMDrive, so there is no possible bottlenecks in my system except for the product in question.

WIRED:
Large single file = 12.02MB/sec (Can’t get much faster than this with overhead)
Medium files (~3-4 MB) = 8.93MB/sec
Tiny files (less than 4K) = 2.45 MB/sec

WIRELESS

Large single file = 5.02 MB/sec (this is 40mbits)
Medium files = 4.44MB/sec (35.5mbits)
Tiny files = 1.07 MB/sec (8.6mbits)

This was about 6’ away, direct line of sight, Windows says it’s connected 100% signal @ 150mbits. Only wireless N was enabled, G was disabled. These results are completely typical for anyone that knows how notorious wifi can be.

Cons: I guess “Who is OnNetworks” (yet another no name chinese brand) is a question everyone is asking, but they are standing behind their product letting newegg eggxpert reviewers give it a go. Got to give them credit for that.

Other Thoughts: So I suppose reliability is the only real factor that the reviews will not tell you about. The price is right though, so it’s not a huge loss if it dies. Would I try this router? I suppose. It’s 1 year warranty isn’t out of line with others, yet how many of us have the good ol WRT54G kicking around still after almost a decade of use? I didn't see how you can install DDWRT on it, but for a 2 port router, you're not going to be doing anything outrageous.

5 out of 5 eggsWell Worth the Cash!

Pros: There are sever technologically superior reviews for this product, so I will refrain from another. The N150 is a very good product for the money. The instruction booklet is simply written, but gives enough information for the novice to set it up in short order. The range is strong. I live in a 3 story townhome, the N150 is in the basement and I can get a strong signal on the top floor. Is this router as good as the ones in the $200. to $300. price range? In most cases, no. However 2 of the high dollar models I have don't have the range of the N150. Go figure! If you want a modestly priced router that will give you good basic security and bang for the buck, look no further. This is a diamond in the rough!

Cons: Has a cheap feel and is very light.

Other Thoughts: I removed a high dollar router and replaced it with the N150 and I haven't changed it back yet. My games play fine too.

3 out of 5 eggsNot a bad router for the price.

Pros: *CONTINUOUS REVIEW FROM PROS TO CONS*

At-a-glance & unpackaging.

The router is well packed and comes with a power cord and ethernet cable, approx. 3' long.

The router itself is very flimsy and feels cheap in your hands. It feels like it could break very easily if you drop it. Also, there is one delineated ethernet port for the modem and only TWO other ethernet ports, which are 10/100, and do not have gigabit speeds (10/100/1000)

Setup

Set up is extremely simple. Connect the router to your modem and turn on the power. If you did it right, you'll see the special wifi SSID located on the bottom of the router on your list of available wifi networks on your internet device. For example, on the bottom of my router, the SSID was OnNetworks87. I checked for wifi access points on my laptop and saw that there was one labeled OnNetworks87.

I clicked it and entered the password that was also listed on the bottom of the router. The instructions then directed me to open a browser and go to http://www.mywifirouter.com; Upon doing so, I was directed to a site labeled OnNetworks N150R, and there was an Important Update: To avoid a conflict with your Internet Service Provider, your router's IP address has been updated to 10.0.0.1. I clicked Continue, and it proceeded to check the internet connection. It quickly finished, and then showed me the current SSID and password to log in to the wifi that I mentioned before, giving me the option to print the information and informing me that I can change the name (SSID) and password. It's also interesting to note that UP UNTIL I got to this page, I did not have internet connection, but upon reaching this page, I had full internet access.

I click Next and it asks me to complete registration; There's a convenient "skip this step" link that I clicked and moved on. It even tries to scare you that your router will not be updated if you fail to register and I skipped it anyway.

Once you do this, there's a congratulations page that lets you know you're connected to the internet, and it even has this convenient chat now link on the bottom right of the page that lets you use chat support if you need it.

The congratulations page does me no good, so I went back to mywifirouter.com and got asked for the settings user name and password (admin and admin, respectively).

A new firmware upgrade was available, so I clicked that to get it first. It confirmed a new version was found and I clicked Yes to update it. It took literally ten to fifteen seconds to download it, and about three minutes to install it. It then reset the router and I had to refresh to get back in to router settings.

The home tab shows router info, internet info, and wifi settings, which say that I have a throughput speed of up to 65 mbps.

Cons: The Setup tab is your standard internet settings page which is very reminiscent of netgear router settings. Very standard; under wifi on the left side, I changed the SSID and password, and also made the mode "up to 150 mbps."

There are no WEP security options - only WPA2 & WPA. I applied the settings and moved on to see if there is anything else of interest. The rest of the settings in the Setup tab were not of interest.

The next tab was the Security tab, which has site blocking and service blocking, including scheduling blocking and email notification settings for the above.

The management tab has the same router info as the home page, and not much of interest except for a connected devices list.

Finally, the advanced tab contains a bunch of interesting features, like WPS settings (which I always disable), wireless repeater function, and remote management features.

Overall, there's nothing special about this router that makes it different. I ran a speed test and had a ping of 29 ms, 2.98 mbps download and 0.75 mbps on my in laws verizon dsl service.

Range

I left the router in the living room of the house & watched my BlackBerry's wifi signal indicator as I walked outside the house. I fully lost range at 60 feet away not counting change in height as I had to go down about 10 steps to leave the house & go halfway in the street. I lost signal halfway across the street away from the house. The signal went down from 4 – 3 bars about 20 feet away at the door to the house. Immediately OUTSIDE the door about 2 – 3 ft further w/ both a door & metal storm door closed I got 2 bars. Another 20 feet away it became 1 bar & I lost signal into the street about 20 ft more further. Not bad.

I also went upstairs & my BlackBerry had 3 – 4 bars throughout the entire 2nd floor & had 2 bars in portions of the house closer to the front door of the house (vertically). Not bad. Using my BlackBerry's browser, I was able to load YouTube videos w/ no problem.

Overall 3 out of 5 for this router based on my preferences & experiences w/ it, which were a simple router with easy setup and no headaches and fast internet.

4 out of 5 eggsVery Nice

Pros: I have been running a different wifi router for a while. Its set up in the basement, along with the cable modem. Up in the living room, I had been getting about 2 or 3 Mbps download speed. That was fine for browsing websites, but when streaming to my Roku, it sometimes had to buffer. This was most apparent when watching Netflix and Hulu Plus. I had been running this way for a bit more than a year.

Then I tried this On Networks wifi router. I am definitely seeing better speeds, more like 10 Mbps download. Streaming is more fluid, very little buffering, and a sharper picture. My other router was rated for up to 300 Mbps, and this is 150 Mbps, but the speeds I got tell the tale. I am getting much better download and upload speeds than before, on both my Roku and Chromebook.

My old router also cost $50, twice as much as this one. So the router is an excellent value.

Cons: very lightweight, feels kinda cheap

Other Thoughts: As the router is not rated for online gaming, I did not try any of that.
