5 out of 5 eggsConfigure and forget

Pros: This AP has been great for home use. Secure, and good range through thick, old house walls and subfloors. I configured it the day I got it, moved out of sight and it's been out of mind ever since. It just works, never needs a restart, never gives me any issues.

Cons: None

2 out of 5 eggsOverall, not worth the money

Pros: The unit was easy to set up. Unlike some of the other reviews, I found the firmware easy to flash. The price was reasonable.

Cons: The range on these units is horrible. I own two of them and both have the smallest/shortest range of any AP I've ever purchased.

Other Thoughts: I would not recommend this unit.

2 out of 5 eggsIt works....

Pros: It works as an access point with no security setting as I cannot get into the setup menu. Hardwired it to computer, tried everything else short of updating firmware. And I really have no desire to flash the firmware, this is a friggin access point that is supposed to work out of the box, I don't want to spend hours tinkering with it.

Cons: Cannot access set-up menu. No point to return it, shipping cost not worth it. And probably the same issue with the replacement unit.

Other Thoughts: Is this so difficult to make a good reliable and easy to use AP? Went through D-Link (6 months before it died), Linksys (1 year), TTP-Link (1 DOA, 1 3 months) and now this one. Buying a Fritzbox from Germany.....

4 out of 5 eggsit just works...

Pros: It was pretty easy to set up as a universal repeater. It seemed to have the same firmware (with a different web interface) as the EDIMAX BR-6428NS but I did not experience the constant packet dropping associated with the Edimax under a stress load.

Cons: The latest firmware makes it impossible to access the setup menu unless directly connected to it. It's a "security feature." That meant I couldn't monitor it from my desktop PC.

Other Thoughts: This unit was designed to add wireless capability to your existing network, so it has no WAN capability. Because of this, it only has one network port. This is fine until you find out that, set up as an access point, you can't get into the setup menu unless you're hardwired to it.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat unit

Pros: easy setup
bullet proof

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: ive installed atleast 30 of these units for my customers using all modes and yet to have one fail
i also recommend the poe versions fo easy remote installation
if anyone has issues accessing the setup screen set your lan port to 192.168.2.2

5 out of 5 eggsGood WAP and easy to setup

Pros: I setup the Intellinet 524728 strictly as a wireless access point using WPA2. The instruction booklet was easy to follow to get to the web interface. I have a good knowledge of WiFi so the setup was quick and easy including setting up the DHCP range for wireless clients.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I've been using and recommending this product for my own and client usage for a couple of years. This particular AP has been very reliable and is very flexible in it's configuration options.

Cons: Need to flash firmware before initial setup ... although in all fairness, this is an industrywide issue for all of these devices.

2 out of 5 eggsLooks good but................

Pros: Nice looking router, boots up fast and plenty of options.

Cons: Needed to use this and setup it up for universal repeater mode to cover a low coverage area, had to flash the firmware out of the box as it came with ver 1.02 to ver 1.05 and finally got it to work. Flashing the unit was a nightmare, I have uploaded the file to the router about 12 times before it would take and finally got it working. After flashing the unit I have it working nicely now and seems to be very speedy.

Other Thoughts: I would not recommend this unit to anyone since there is no phone number listed on the website to contact the manufacture in case there is a problem only a contact form. If I had known this before I would have never purchased the unit, I purchased it because of the warranty coverage and price value, I am now beginning to think I should have purchased a different name brand. Hope it lasts longer than the warranty period.
