1 out of 5 eggsGarbage. Cannot get incoming calls intermittently. Have to reset it.

Pros: NO PROS. I bought it. I tried it. At first it worked ok. At times I had to resit it, power off/power on for it to work and receive incoming calls. Now I am able to use it only for about an hour, after that I cannot get any calls. Customer service is non-existent. This product SUCKS. I rather use vonage because IT WORKS, unlike Net-GARBAGE-talk.

Cons: Unable to get incoming calls. Calling party gets the message "The number you have dialed has been disconnected..." or "The subscriber you have called is not in services..." Rather use VONAGE.

Other Thoughts: HEY YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.

5 out of 5 eggsUnit worked well for the 1st year, ad going strong.

Pros: Bought this device refurbished online, followed the directions in the box and had it setup and running in under a half hour, with a local NJ number. Have Comcast and it works well, we get about 24MBs down 4MBs up. Remember folks its VOIP and if you have a lot going on your internet, it will reduce call quality. BTW, we have a basic ($25) cordless phone.

Cons: Once in a while, my wife calls home from her cell (VZW) and complains about home phone voice quality, but most other folks including Canada do hear us well.

1 out of 5 eggsno support whatsoever

Pros: none

Cons: After 5 months of spotty call quality, the duo stopped receiving phone calls altogether. I could call out, but callers got "the number you have dialed is not in service" message.
Over 2 weeks , several hours. on the phone, and 3 trouble tickets, I got absolutely no response from technical support, they never even answered the phone. Even emails to customer service went unanswered.
Don't buy this product.

1 out of 5 eggsWorst phone I ever

Pros: Inexpensive, works with Life Alerts

Cons: Highly unreliable, very poor customer service

Other Thoughts: When receiving calls: 30% of the time there is no one there. 10% of time I answer there is nothing but a busy signal. 40% of time there is a 5 sec lag before the calling party responds.
I have called customer service dozen of times and gotten through 3 times. Twice CS accessed my modem and disabled all of my other internet devices and did not solve any issues with the Duo.
CS will put you on hold for hours then hangup, this has happened twice.
Once they even had a countdown after a 1 hour wait. They said a CS will come on line in 30 seconds, and then proceeded to count down to 0, then disconnected with a busy signal! It must their idea of a sick joke?
Calling their bogus 611 #, you get a busy all the time.

1 out of 5 eggsDo not buy!

Pros: Low price

Cons: Poor customer service
Poor sound quality
Poor device durability
Poor device functionality

Other Thoughts: I purchased this item in December 2012 (not from this seller, however). Now in March 2013 it is not working and "customer support" is of no help. Read the other reviews out there and you will find everything that happened to them happened to me. Poor sound quality. Dropped calls. Frequent resetting of the device. 2+ hour waits to speak to customer service. Device failure after a few months. All happened to me. This is not an isolated incident and I am not a picky person. I am also very tech aware. Please...I am calling on all who are thinking about this, do yourself a favour. Look elsewhere. Some sellers have already stopped offering it from their sources and others have it under review. Go check for yourself if you don't believe me. Click on some of the links on their own website and it will reveal those who have seen the light and ceased selling it. I saw these little warnings myself when I investigated it, but I ignored them. I wanted this little money-saver so bad. I wanted out of my previous contract as well so it made all the sense in the world. Now I'm $70 in the hole. Walk away, folks. Walk away.

4 out of 5 eggsfollouwp to March 11, 2013 review

Pros: see below comments

Cons: see below comments

Other Thoughts: This review is a followup to the earlier review I wrote about not being able to receive calls. After receiving and responding to a few additional emails with their customer support, which requested some product info. without any notice or further response from them, I had given up and forgot about it. All of a sudden several days later, the device rang and it has worked perfectly for over a week, so I guess it is fixed. I only can't give 5 stars now, for all the initial trouble I had. It now does receive, fax, and call quality is good with no drops. Maybe the only solution is to make sure you send emails to tech support, rather than waiting forever on the phone.

2 out of 5 eggsWhere was this unit purchased from?

Pros: Seems like a good idea, but their supplied info was faulty.

Cons: to use, must 1st be activated on their website. but supplied user name & password would not work. called & emailed company with no resolution.

Other Thoughts: 2 days after a much detailed email reply was: "Where was this unit purchased from?"
while it was not purchased at newegg. it was purchased at a reliable site.

1 out of 5 eggsgood if you never want to receive calls

Pros: looks nice

Cons: I set this device up as instructed, have a good isp, and have been able to make calls fine. The problem is that nobody can call the number. No incoming calls are received or go to voicemail ever, regardless of whether the device is on or off. It just doesn't work. Hrs. of calling and writing tech support and they tried my no. to hear "the number has been disconnected." They can't fix. Save your money and buy magic jack - at least that works.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat IF you have a good ISP

Pros: Pros: 1- FREE long distance (US & Canada)
2- Caller ID, call trace, call block included
3- No pc needed
4- Two times I needed tech support it was excellent
5- Real test of quality of your ISP (internet service provider)
6- When I renewed total was $37.19 for a year! (average $3.10/month)
7- FAX capable (if your fax is voip compatible...see manufacturer's website)
8- FAR cheaper than my old AT&T landline

Cons: Cons: 1- IF your ISP has issues you'll have stattic and or echoing problems
2- Roll of the dice if a number is available in your area
3-My Belkin router would not work (not getting incoming calls)
4- By default your acct is setup to get all incoming messages via e-mail not by your answering maching (tech support can help you disable it)

Other Thoughts: I plan on renewing for a *second time when it is required to do so. My Internet service (WISP) has a LOW ping (lag) time of 26 ms and it has worked great with this voip. No buyer's remorse here!

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great with a hitch

Pros: Cheaper than paying per month for phone from your local cable/phone company. Does fax just fine (gotta make sure you have a steady and strong connection or you will get many failed faxes).

Cons: The phone number provided by netTALK did not work. When you try to call that number you get a message stating that it does not exist, but you can make calls from that number provided. I had my old land line number ported so that solved that annoying problem.

Other Thoughts: Got this to use it for fax and it worked great until I moved. My old line had stronger line connection because I never had an issue with fax, but since I moved to a smaller city I've had failed fax (according to the fax machine it states poor signal quality). If you want to use this for fax, IT WORKS!
