5 out of 5 eggsGreat product, great price and they keep improving firmware

Pros: The product is based on a fork of Vyatta, so a lot of what you find with Vyatta works with EdgeOS.
The community is very helpful for any out of the norm configuration options you're looking for and there are constantly more custom scripts that become available from that community.
The firmware keeps getting updated and you see new features or bug fixes all the time. Most recently they've added wizards for WAN to LAN initial configuration.
The CLI in the web console is a nice touch.

Cons: Not for the feint of heart. Be prepared to work on a configuration and get your hands dirty with a little CLI work as well.

Other Thoughts: I think you need to expect what you're getting with this product. This is a cheap carrier grade router. If you're ready to make the the next step on your home network from a Tomato or DD-WRT setup, this is a nice step. If you're looking for an affordable carrier grade router this is where it's at.

1 out of 5 eggsArchaic GUI and no way to set Static IP on WAN

Pros: Good packaging.

Cons: Its got all the stats I need and would love to put it into use but it is extremely difficult to set the Wan to a static IP. They even go so far in the internal menus to discourage you from using static IP. I sure wish I would have known that before I bought it. Now it goes back. On top of that the Power LED does not work.

Other Thoughts: I expected much more than this from the advertising.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent router for advanced installs

Pros: Linux-backed router (based off of Debian and Vyatta) with customizations thrown in by Ubiquiti. Excellent price point, excellent feature set. Advanced capabilities possible if you're a linux guru.

Cons: Uses "mickey mouse" power plug. If you're installing this in a 240volt data center PDU, you'll need to make sure you buy a compatible power cable.

Pros: I ran a speed test on Comcast's network, 124.66 Mb/s! I have never seen a router this fast! High end router with a mid-tier price.

Cons: The router arrived with outdated firmware. It seemed very flakey without the update. I have only had the router a short time so I can't comment on longevity.

Other Thoughts: I have several Ubiquiti products, zero problems.
