Pros: Easy to install and configure

Cons: Mounting bracket is fussy, needed to screw it to a slightly uneven brick wall and that flexed the bracket just enough so that the unit was impossible to slide fully down in to bracket. Even when the bracket is unmounted, it is hard to slide the unit into the channels.

Pros: This is an inexpensive, 5GHz outdoor access point that works with Ubiquity's Unifi controllers. The controller software is free and runs on either Windows or Linux. Performance while connected to the access point is good.

Cons: Range was much less than I expected. This may just be the nature of 5GHz and not really the fault of the product. But given that 5GHz doesn't work very well outdoors, there's not much point in an outdoor access point that's 5GHz only. I'd suggest most people just use a 2.4GHz UAP-OUTDOOR+ instead.

Other Thoughts: Expertise is needed to design, install, and configure a Unifi system. This is not for home use except by knowledgeable enthusiasts. But it's great to extend multi access point systems to cover outdoor areas like parking lots of between buildings. Again though, my recommendation is to use 2.4GHz (at least primarily) for such spaces because 5GHz just doesn't hold a connection well at even moderate distances.
