3 out of 5 eggsProblem with virtual server

Pros: good Load Balance Routers

Cons: I need to forward/translate a few ports to internal devices on TL-R480T+ but in virtual servers there is no such option. same applicability supported on V5 of this model. i got lots of very cheap ADSL modem router that support such think, to my surprise this Load Balance Routers don't, i hope this can be fixed by firmware update but not yet

Manufacturer Response:

Dear customer,
Thank you for supporting TP-LINK products.

The new model should cover all features of the old version.
Do you mean port-forwarding to different internal ports or other requirements?
We would like to work with you to figure it out and improve it.
Could you please contact me for the detailed requirement?

My email is:

We really appreciate you taking the time to check out our TP-Link products and we hope that you will be able to check out more in the future.

Best Regards!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Value with multi-WAN ports

Pros: multi-WAN ports with load balancing strategies
works stable with two Internet provider in my small office

Cons: the port is 10/100M , not Gigabit....

Other Thoughts: I used this in my small office with three of my colleagues, we have two Internet provider accesses so I bought the TP-LINK multi-WAN router, so far it works stable and never down with the TP-LINK switch !! And also I called TP-LINK hotline for help, they are very patient and full of passion !!
I gotta say I have become a loyal TP-LINK fun !!!

5 out of 5 eggsPowerful Value

Pros: This is an excellent little unit, with all the features you'd expect from a higher priced system. The GUI is perfectly workable, about on the level of the average home router or switch, with a few nice bonus features. All in all, well worth the money.

Cons: It's a bit larger than it needs to be, technically, and I personally don't use the serial port connection. It is a bit of an archaic machine but who cares about looks with a router anyway?

Other Thoughts: Server-Room technology for your home or small business.

4 out of 5 eggs2WAN up date

Pros: This is a followup for the previous review of this product. After several months they have released a new firmware fixing the issues I had with this router. I am testing it and all loks well at this time.

Cons: Takes a little longer to get working just the way you want it but for the price it seems to be working at this time. The GUI interface needs a bit more work as I don't believe that all the routers capabilities are available in the GUI configs.

1 out of 5 eggsTL-R480T+

Pros: None

Cons: Received the unit with an old firmware. It worked ok but balancing was off. I decided to download the latest firmware. Once loaded to the box it faled to loadbalance or failover. The only way to failover was to remove one of the WAN Cat5 connections. I attempted to get support but the people that answered did not know how to work with this unit. They told me to send an email to tech support which I did. It has been over a week and I have not received a response.

Other Thoughts: I overnited a different router and it came with the latest firmware and worked great out of the box. I have sent a review of the other product on NewEgg also.
Thanks to Newegg for getting me the replacement overnite.
