5 out of 5 eggsSolid Unmanaged Switch

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-SG1016 10/100/1000Mbps Unmanaged 16-Port Gigabit rackmountable Switch, Metal Case, Power-Saving

Pros: I have had this switch in my home server rack since the beginning of August 2013. Since the initial installation, it has been up 99% of the time. Only when I have the entire rack off has the switch been down. Solid build quality and great speeds.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: House is wired with CAT6 and this switch is the hub. File transfer across the network are at just about maximum throughput. Only limiting factors are read/write speeds of drives in my network. My only regret is not getting a 24 port or higher switch. Can't fault the switch for not fully fleshing out my network plan prior to ordering parts.

5 out of 5 eggsIt's a switch

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-SG1016 10/100/1000Mbps Unmanaged 16-Port Gigabit rackmountable Switch, Metal Case, Power-Saving

Pros: 16 ports, and unmanaged, does its job, no issues, plugged it in and it worked. No latency issues, reboots quickly on power down, fans produce good airflow.

Cons: none, so far. i have only had it in place for a week so only enough time to establish a baseline, everything looks good.

Other Thoughts: goo price for the speed, solid buy.

4 out of 5 eggsSturdy well constructed Gig switch

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-SG1016 10/100/1000Mbps Unmanaged 16-Port Gigabit rackmountable Switch, Metal Case, Power-Saving

Pros: Good basic unmanaged switch. Is rackmount and easy to see the LED and feels SOLID. No Power BRICK! yay uses a normal 120V cord. Has a lug for grounding if you need it. Nice over all. 5 year warranty! WOW I hope I don't need it either!

Cons: None so far.

5 out of 5 eggsQuick and simple.

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-SG1016 10/100/1000Mbps Unmanaged 16-Port Gigabit rackmountable Switch, Metal Case, Power-Saving

Pros: I've never done networking before but this was easy to use. The speed is phenomenal! I've plugged in my ethernet cords into this baby and it runs GREAT. It looks great and works well. What more could you ask for?

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Be sure to mount it if you're putting a lot of ethernet cables in it! If a lot of ethernet cables are plugged in, it can move the device easily since it's really light weight!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Product!

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-SG1016 10/100/1000Mbps Unmanaged 16-Port Gigabit rackmountable Switch, Metal Case, Power-Saving

Pros: Excellent switch. Comparable to switches costing much more $$.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I considered a Netgear switch or this one. I choose this one due to half the cost. Glad I did so.

4 out of 5 eggsAn OK Switch

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-SG1016 10/100/1000Mbps Unmanaged 16-Port Gigabit rackmountable Switch, Metal Case, Power-Saving

Pros: I needed one switch with more than 8 ports and this item came on sale at NewEgg. It works. I never did any actual speed tests other than it doesn't take as long to copy DVD ISO images between two devices with gigabit NICs as it does with a 10/100 so its speed seems okay.

Cons: One PC, a Zotac ITX board with a RealTek gigabit NIC would not work at all when directly plugged into this switch. Had to use another switch between the PC and the switch.

Other Thoughts: Seems okay.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Product!!

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-SG1016 10/100/1000Mbps Unmanaged 16-Port Gigabit rackmountable Switch, Metal Case, Power-Saving

Pros: Solid construction! Heavy frame. Solid connections. It also came with 6 silicon 2.5 hard drive carriers, that I never seen was included. Have seen many of these types very flimsy, but this one is solid! Get this one!

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Great product! Fast shipping from New Egg! Thank you!
