5 out of 5 eggsWorks great!

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-SF1005D 10/100Mbps 5-Port Unmanaged Desktop Switch, Power-Saving

Pros: Adds 4 more ports. I put this at the end of a powerline kit to connect all my devices. It is very small.
If you are looking to add extra ports to your network, then this will be the best $10 you ever spent.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsGood Ethernet Switch

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-SF1005D 10/100Mbps 5-Port Unmanaged Desktop Switch, Power-Saving

Pros: This ethernet switch works good. There is no setup necessary, just plug it into one of the ports on your router and that's it. This switch also has indicator lights to show the status of connected devices.

Cons: None.

5 out of 5 eggsIt works

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-SF1005D 10/100Mbps 5-Port Unmanaged Desktop Switch, Power-Saving

Pros: This item works. For those persnickety individuals that need multiple devices on a hard coded wall plate, this is the answer. We plugged it in & every thing connected without an issue. No set up required. We're running 2 laptops & a WAP off of this switch without an issue. Buying a 2nd one tonight for another wall plate.

Cons: No ethernet cable

Other Thoughts: Depending on what you have connected to the wall outlet you may want to have a power strip with you. Plug the ethernet cable from the wall plate to port 5 of the switch & then plug everything else into 1-4.

5 out of 5 eggsNice, good form factor, and works.

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-SF1005D 10/100Mbps 5-Port Unmanaged Desktop Switch, Power-Saving

Pros: Works.. I have a couple Netgear ones a few times, and wanted to try the given the price. Seems to work fine - I did some load testing, but will do more later. Like the form factor (just a little smaller than the Netgear - and nice white finish.

Cons: None known so far.

5 out of 5 eggsWhy would you pay more?

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-SF1005D 10/100Mbps 5-Port Unmanaged Desktop Switch, Power-Saving

Pros: -Cheapest switch on Newegg
-Looks great. The design is reminiscent of an Apple product.
-100% Plug and Play. No setup required.
-Feels very solid
-Wall mountable
-It works exactly as advertised.
-2 year warranty

Cons: -Does not come with any network cables.
-Socket for power adapter is on the side instead of the back.
-In some situations, the power adapter will create a very high pitched noise that synchronizes perfectly with the LED indicators on the switch itself. If this happens, try moving the power adapter to a different socket, the one closest to the power strip's cord if you're using one.

Other Thoughts: Between the price, aesthetics, and warranty, there is no reason not to buy this!

5 out of 5 eggsPlug and play, reliable, happy customer!

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-SF1005D 10/100Mbps 5-Port Unmanaged Desktop Switch, Power-Saving

Pros: Truly plug and play
100% reliable so far
Small and dimunitive
Low power
Perfect for low(er) bandwidth ethernet devices

Cons: Maximum thoroughput is 200mbps, not recommended for any device (or combination of devices) that may exceed that limit.

Other Thoughts: I purchased two of these to to get a handful of low bandwidth devices off my wireless network (primarily AppleTV's, Xbox, smart TV, etc). So far it's been 100% reliable. I also have one of these connected to a TP Link powerline ethernet adapter, works great.
