4 out of 5 eggsMake sure you update the drivers

Pros: Fast, reliable, competitively priced.

Cons: Install the newest drivers from their website, otherwise you may get the BSOD. Not cool. After that, works great.

Other Thoughts: Win7 Pro X64

5 out of 5 eggsGreat card for the price

Pros: Fast and reliable

Cons: Not really a con for me since I am a computer technician but for some users it could be harder to install since you have to go to device manager and then install it manually by telling it to look on the cd for the driver. If you do it by only clicking on install when you put in the cd it will install some useless software with the drivers.

Other Thoughts: So far, so good, it works. TP-Link is a pretty good brand, I would never have thought so but after selling their products for over 2 years I can definitely say they are reliable.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks great, fast.

Pros: Form factor, lots of antennas, good range, meets my bandwith limitation.

Cons: Software to get the driver installed properly wasn't what I hoped for, took me a few tries at first but then I saw you had to install a program to install the driver which seemed like a hassle to me, but I guess read the manual first.

4 out of 5 eggsTricky for windows 8

Pros: It is a great adapter and has high wireless range and speed.
Easy HARDWARE Install.

Cons: This con is for windows 8 to my knowledge. NOT PLUG AND PLAY!!!! You need to go to their website find this product and get the driver for it then you have to run in win 7 compatability mode and install otherwise it will drop connection and terrorize your speeds.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Perfect !

Pros: Easy to install. Works with windows 7 x86/64 bit.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Was up and running in mins with no issues on windows 7 32bit/64bit Professional. Installed it into an old HP computer. Runs great ! Excellent signal in this townhouse with a cisco router, there is about 30 feet of distance between the router and this wifi adapter. I didnt even have to install any drivers. (Strange but true) All i did was shut down the computer, unplugged all wires ect, ground myself on the case, then open case, then install the adapter into an empty PCI Slot, close the computer case backup and proceeded to boot into windows and voila it was picking up wifi connections in my neighborhood. Thanks again newegg !

1 out of 5 eggsAvoid this one

Pros: easy to install on windows 7. Had it up and running in minutes.

Cons: Constantly drops the connection. I've purchased this several months ago but have only been using for 5-6 weeks. It dropped the connectin twice while writing this review. I gave up an dplugged into a wire.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear customer,

We are sorry to hear that your TL-WN951N is constantly dropping connections. This is not the normal expected performance from this device, and we do hope we can help you resolve this.

In the cases where wireless connections are dropped a multitude of times during usage, there are some troubleshooting steps to try such as checking to the antennas and making sure they are connected securely, or re-positioning the computer to a better receptive location, or even going as far as re-installing the device drivers.

If none of these troubleshooting steps help resolve the issue, please feel free to contact our support team and we will gladly assist you with any other troubleshooting options, otherwise, if the device is simply not able function on an optimal level, we will set up an RMA for you and replace the device with a new one.

We hope this helps. Let us know if you have any more questions or concerns!
Thank you for supporting TP-LINK

4 out of 5 eggsSo far it works

Pros: Low profile

Cons: Do not use the provided wireless manager, it drops the connection and you have to reenter the network key again and again using xp pro.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great with Ubutntu

Pros: I bought this card because I was tired of playing games getting wireless to work under Ubuntu. It is based on the Atheros 9170 chips set if I understand correctly.

This card plugged in and worked with Ubuntu 12.04 LTS straight out of the box. No fussing with NDISWRAPPWER or trying to get the wireless applet to show. It just worked. I get 130Mb/s which is probably limited by my router. The performance seems snappy.

No problems with signal strength like others have reported -- I am 25 feet away from router and up one floor.

I would buy again.

Cons: None at this time.

Other Thoughts: Using the stock supplied 3 antennas.
