5 out of 5 eggsThis is the one

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WR1043ND Ultimate Wireless N300 Router, Gigabit, 300Mbps, USB port, 3 Detachable Antennas / IP QoS/ QSS Button

Pros: Speed, features, cost, range, ease of setup, GB router, N router, did I say cost?
I had the worst router ever in the D-Link 605. It did gigabyte and I loved that but the wifi was so unstable it couldn't stay connected to anything. I had to turn all the wifi adapters in the house to g to maintain a connection. I took that to work and replaced it with a Linksys WRG 64T. That was a little more stable, a little but had no range, no N and no gigabyte.

I plugged this router in, flashed the bios, set it up and now I get 3 bars on wifi 100 feet outside the house which is important since my T-Mobile phone needs wifi to get a signal at my house. I'm getting full bars in corners of my house that I wouldn't get signal before.

Cons: I didn't buy this sooner. I wasted $25 on a range extender that is unnecessary at my house now. That's half the cost of this router.

Other Thoughts: The local super store doesn't carry this $50 router because it wouldn't sell the $100+ varieties. Otherwise this would be the #1 seller.

5 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WR1043ND Ultimate Wireless N300 Router, Gigabit, 300Mbps, USB port, 3 Detachable Antennas / IP QoS/ QSS Button

Pros: This wireless N router setup it very easy -just insert cd and follow instructions....only thing I did different was the last step of verification which failed was reboot the Modem and everything worked. Very good range where I had two or three bars I now show five bars. No dropouts thus far.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: For the money, a great buy........Hope it provides years of service..

3 out of 5 eggsTP-LINK TL-WR1043ND -DOA

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WR1043ND Ultimate Wireless N300 Router, Gigabit, 300Mbps, USB port, 3 Detachable Antennas / IP QoS/ QSS Button

Pros: It has been Rated highly, but I can't say yet.

Cons: A little bit of discomfort but it's only costing me time to correct this Defective unit with a NEW one.

Other Thoughts: Newegg is Handling this return issue totally at no charge (2 day air) & replacement (1 day air) delivery upon receiving the RMA. Newegg is being fair. Will update will I get the new one.

5 out of 5 eggsWOW.. price and performance !

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WR1043ND Ultimate Wireless N300 Router, Gigabit, 300Mbps, USB port, 3 Detachable Antennas / IP QoS/ QSS Button

Pros: Gigabit wired ports, great options in firmware, smokin fast.. have fiber at home.. 100mb up and down.. have tried several brands of routers.. none of them under 65 bucks could keep up with the hammering of 4-6 devices mixed wired and wireless between streaming video, gaming and large file downloads all at once.. had to constantly reset the others due to the traffic.. this one dosnt even bat an eye at it .. and my download speeds increased with this router .. now to upgrade to 1GB fiber to see how it handles it

Cons: Should have tried TP Link long before

5 out of 5 eggsWhoa....

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WR1043ND Ultimate Wireless N300 Router, Gigabit, 300Mbps, USB port, 3 Detachable Antennas / IP QoS/ QSS Button

Pros: Fast, cool, easy setup, strong signal... is there anything else you want in a $40 router?

Cons: None yet, other than confusing instructions on setting up WDS, but only owned it a week...

Other Thoughts: Lightning took out my old WDS system of Rosewill equipment so I thought I'd give TP-Link a try after reading reviews and web links. Bought this router as my main switch connected to my internet provider. Also purchased two TL-WR841N routers to use as satellite WDS access point, and a TL-WN822N for my daughter's computer. The system spans the main house and the pool house with my office. The speeds from my office to the main router show no decrease from the main server connected directly the cable modem and receive the full 40 Mbps of my service. My daughter's computer being relayed through the WDS router in the main house shows 35 Mbps on a speed test. The best I could get out of the old system was 10 Mbps in her room. Now if I don't have hardware failures like a lot of the reviews on here, I'll be one satisfied customer.

1 out of 5 eggsWorked great - for the first few months...

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WR1043ND Ultimate Wireless N300 Router, Gigabit, 300Mbps, USB port, 3 Detachable Antennas / IP QoS/ QSS Button

Pros: Affordable, easy to setup

Cons: Unreliable. After five months of light use, this router is failing. My modem is receiving 1 Gbps, yet this router is only sending out between 100 - 260 Mbps. The speed jumps around from second to second making it impossible to stream Netflix or run multiple devices on the internet. 108 to 260 to 140 to 216 etc. etc.
The box claims that this is a very high speed router, and "BEST" for streaming. Then once daily it just quits working all together, and I have to manually reboot it.

Other Thoughts: My one hour 20 minute phone call with TP Link was the most frustrating hour of my life. They claim that running 100-200 Gbps is normal, and since it was "working" at the moment there was nothing they could do. I held in there until I spoke to a "supervisor" who finally succumbed to providing me an RMA. I was told the U.S. RMA dept would contact me, however nothing in a weeks time. Fortunately the "supervisor" did follow-up and sent me a direct email address for U.S. RMA and I finally am hopefully on my way to a replacement. But reviews of the new version aren't giving me high expectations.

5 out of 5 eggsPleasently surprised

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WR1043ND Ultimate Wireless N300 Router, Gigabit, 300Mbps, USB port, 3 Detachable Antennas / IP QoS/ QSS Button

Pros: I received version 2 of TL-WR1043ND

Excellent price/value

Great range - full signal throughout all three levels of my home

Great speeds - I get 110Mbps routinely on speedtest.net over Wi-Fi!! Roughly 175Mbps via ethernet - I am on Cox Cable's 150Mbps tier, its over-provisioned to roughly 175Mbps.

Very stable. I've not had to power cycle it in the three months I've had it.

Lots of configuration features for such an inexpensive router.

Cons: I can't think of any

Other Thoughts: I'm really surprised how much router I got for relatively little money!

4 out of 5 eggsTP-LINK TL-WR1043ND

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WR1043ND Ultimate Wireless N300 Router, Gigabit, 300Mbps, USB port, 3 Detachable Antennas / IP QoS/ QSS Button

Pros: Easy to setup networking great range for upstairs downstairs and easy to update firmware out of the box. The "Gigabit Ethernet Switch" was a big + for transferring files from wireless to Ethernet. I also purchased TP-LINK TL-WN822N with great range, speed and through walls with no problem. The security is great on the wireless A++ Not on ftp..! I would recommend these product for price and features for anyone experienced or not.

Cons: The ftp/usb firmware longin is glitched either buy ftp or run command. You try to long in one way it works the other it will not and does it back in forth with any of my PCs. The admin, quest accounts names can't be changed so you have to block from ftp and create another account or the work is half done for hackers. They don't have DD-WRT done for this version 3 yet but are working on it, can't wait but must.

Other Thoughts: I have my wife's PC hooked to the Gigabit Ethernet Switch and to test the speed of the router I transferred from my wireless TP-LINK TL-WN822N 96gigs of video and it didn't take long..under an hour respectfully HDD to HDD. I would advise to upgrade to newer firmware before you even use it. The ftp is glitched but I have used DD-WRT from it's first and I believe this router will do great will see!

5 out of 5 eggsUpdate to review written 7/16/13

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WR1043ND Ultimate Wireless N300 Router, Gigabit, 300Mbps, USB port, 3 Detachable Antennas / IP QoS/ QSS Button

Pros: No way to update reviews, so this is a new one. In my prior review I said the con was that I had to reboot the router every 7-10 days. But now, as of today I haven't had to reboot it for at least 4 months. I did get a new modem from the cable company about 3 months ago that is more up-to-date and faster. This seems to have made quite a difference in stability.

Cons: None.
