5 out of 5 eggsNice router

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WR841N Wireless N300 Home Router, 300Mbps, IP QoS, WPS Button

Pros: Right Price < $20.-
Free Shipping.
Only feature I missed was a Guest SSID.
Always liked the plethora of settings available in TP Link firmware.

Cons: Would not connect to my Chromecast until I changed the wireless bandwidth to 20 MHz, instead of Auto (which made it run @ 40 MHz according to inSSIDer Home).

Other Thoughts: For the price, this seems to be a solid router for my needs (one user at a time, mostly). I've had good luck with other TP Link products, so I gave this a chance.

I cannot figure out a reason to buy a similar, but much expensive product.

5 out of 5 eggsEasy and Reliable

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WR841N Wireless N300 Home Router, 300Mbps, IP QoS, WPS Button

Pros: Supereasy to setup, took literally 30 seconds. If your computer doesn't come with a CD drive, you can find the download for the setup program on the manufacturer's website. Just google the router model.

Cons: Didn't market itself to me, otherwise I would have bought it heck of a lot sooner.

I guess not aesthetically amazing, but function above aesthetics right?

Other Thoughts: If you live in an apartment and not a mansion, if you want easy of setup and reliability, the buy-and-forget its there kind, look no further.

I live in a NYC apartment with some of the fastest internet money can buy 100mbps on speedtest.net, and this router carries my speed reliably from my ISP. Only degrades to 88mbps down from 98 to all my devices.

1 out of 5 eggsYa its a Great Deal but

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WR841N Wireless N300 Home Router, 300Mbps, IP QoS, WPS Button

Pros: Cheap
Came Quick

Cons: It didnt work at all

Other Thoughts: This Router kept resetting itself randomly the first day I received it out of the box. That is unacceptable.

I have an older Asus Router that wasnt as quick as this one but it works perfect.

I dont need headaches like this router presented. I returned it and going to buy another known brand.

5 out of 5 eggsInexpensive reliable solution

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WR841N Wireless N300 Home Router, 300Mbps, IP QoS, WPS Button

Pros: TP-Link extraordinary security updates (hello other makers I pay attention). Low cost! Works. Simple. I did manual setup so I cannot speak to their automated setup app or WPS (which I disabled). Decent documentation. Not much I can say, up and running in less than 5minutes. Tweaked the way I like within another 10 minutes. Been working ever since.

Cons: Only a 0.6A AC/DC transformer. I prefer a generous 2A to drive the transmitter. Runs cool (efficient) however with decent range through multiple walls, so I cannot dock for that.

No guest account setup possible (multiple SSIDs). That unit costs more than twice as much.

Other Thoughts: Owned now for 2 1/2 months. Installed to give my laptop speedy Internet access at my father's place while he recovered from surgery.

5 out of 5 eggsVery good

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WR841N Wireless N300 Home Router, 300Mbps, IP QoS, WPS Button

Pros: Excellent range, speed, and up time. I see five bar signal strength and 45 mps data rate in a room four walls and 40 feet away from the router. It delivers 10 mbs greater speed than my ASUS RT-N16.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I tried this router because I got excellent performance from TP-Link's wireless adapters (the TL-WN822N model is especially good) and I saw great reviews for it from customers for several online stores.

4 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WR841N Wireless N300 Home Router, 300Mbps, IP QoS, WPS Button

Pros: Great wireless router for the buck. Much faster and more stable than other routers that I have used, costing 4 times the price. Go with it, you can"t lose.

Cons: none
