3 out of 5 eggsworks great with XP

Pros: works as advertised. I have used it on several different old tower computers to download long updates to the hard drive.

Cons: I have not been able to set up auto connect for WEP.
I have to enter the key every time the computer reboots.

Other Thoughts: I have not read ALL of the manufacturer's read me file yet.
The first time i installed using the wrong model number.
just removed that program and started over.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello Guz,

We appreciate you trying out our product. The setup is realivtely simple and seems like you didn't have an issue configuring he device.

The problem with your device automatically connecting to your Router is going to be set up in Windows itself. For Windows XP you may try the following steps:

Step 1: With the left mouse button, click on the 'Start' button.
Step 2: With the left mouse button, click on 'Control Panel'.
Step 3: With the left mouse button, click on 'Network and Internet Connections' (Network Connections, if in Classic View).
Step 4: With the left mouse button, click on 'Network Connections'.
Step 5: With the right mouse button, click on the 'Wireless Network Connection'.
Step 6: With the left mouse button, click on 'Properties' button.
Step 7: With the left mouse button, click on the 'Wireless Networks' tab.
Step 8: With the left mouse button, click on the name of the wireless network, under 'Preferred networks', that you want to automatically connect to.
Step 9: With the left mouse button, click on the 'Properties' button.
Step 10: With the left mouse button, click on the 'Connection' tab.
Step 11: Ensure there is a checkmark in the checkbox, next to'Connect when this network is in range'.
Step 12: With the left mouse button, click on the 'OK' button.
Step 13: With the left mouse button, click on the 'Advanced' button.
Step 14: With the left mouse button, click to select 'Access point (infrastructure) networks only ' (This will help prevent your connection from bouncing around from one network to another).
Step 15: With the left mouse button, click on the 'Close' button.
Step 16: With the left mouse button, click on the 'OK' button.

We appreciate you trying our adapter and hope you will be able to check out our newer products in the future.

Best Regards!

5 out of 5 eggsGood enough for me

Pros: Easy to install. Work well off the box.

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: I wasn't sure about the product because some people left negative feedback. I was pleasantly surprised to find it quite good. Well built and works great off the box. I installed just driver only, not the software that came with it. My desktop is only about 7-8 ft away from the router and it's getting full signal strength.

5 out of 5 eggsVery good unit

Pros: So far. . . I have just plugged it to my TV Box to stream Live shows and movies from the internet. and it worked flowlessly with the box. It has been recognized by the box instantly. In 5 hours continues use no drop or halt in the signal

Cons: none so far

5 out of 5 eggsNo Complaints So Far

Pros: Easy setup, Good signal, comes with a USB cable.
Drivers are stored logically on the setup disk. There is a folder at Root level labeled "Drivers", with sub-folders by OS clearly labeled (wish other brands could figure this out), and there was no software required to install them...

Cons: None Really.
This stick is rather long, but the included usb cable resolves that issue.

Other Thoughts: I purchased this on sale at a local retailer for $9, and figured what do i have to lose? I was prepared to hate it, but was pleasantly surprised. It's far better than any usb adapter i have ever used from Netgear, Dlink, or Linksys...

I am a Cisco certified engineer, so i live and breathe networking...
I would totally reccomend this to anyone

5 out of 5 eggsGreat product

Pros: I got a great deal on this for $9.99. I needed a wireless adapter for my media pc and this dongle works great. It is still streaming without a problem. The network software included is also nice, allowing you to view all of the wireless networks in the area and allows you to choose which channel to connect to based off of signal quality.

Cons: Driver does not install automatically. Must use disk.

Other Thoughts: I have adopted TP-Link products. I took a chance on a 300Mbps router and have been buying their products ever since.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks with Linux

Pros: Works with Ubuntu Linux. It needs a small change to get it working - edit /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf and add a line - blacklist rt2800usb

Cons: Under Linux I only get 54 MBPS although I get 130MBPS on a different laptop with the same wireless router. Perhaps Linux support for the higher speed is not there

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: $20 set up easy and it works. See other thoughts.

Cons: No impovement over my 12 year old LINKSYS WRT54G. after great and valued service my linksys began dropping signal.

Other Thoughts: This router paired with wireless adapter TP-LINK model TL-WN727N R 2nd floor new build with this adapter gets good to fair signal strength. not sure if it is router or adapter. no drop signals yet. 2 months running.

5 out of 5 eggsawesome

Pros: Works great! also comes with a long extension card if you need to put it up higher because your tower is up against a wall. I was using a linksys wireless card and because it was under a solid wood desk and in the opposite corner of the house I couldn't get a decent signal at all.... With this, I got fast speeds like i was directly connected to the router. sometimes it will show a weak signal but the connection is strong. I still have torrents flying in at 1.8mbps when it shows a low signal... great product for a great price

Cons: can't think of any
