5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: *Still works great and i ordered this back in 2012.
*plug and play

Cons: Green Led could be slightly annoying if your a gamer. But this is just splitting hairs I guess.

Other Thoughts: I bought this as well with an asus one... Im surprised this one is far better than an asus brand name.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Cost-Efficient Product

Pros: Cheap.
Efficient.
Plug and play.
Didn't need to use the software that came with it.
Best bang for your buck and works as advertised.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I haven't tried the WPS feature but I haven't needed to. Best cost-efficient device of its class when I bought it for $11.99.

5 out of 5 eggsbest wireless for linux and win8

Pros: Drivers detected and installed automatically in windows. Most linux distributions that support "non-free" firmware such as Ubuntu and its derivatives will install automatically too.

Fastest and most reliable wireless usb dongles I've ever owned, I will continue to buy TP-Link dongles, since they are better quality than ASUS and cost less. I don't care about 300Mbps when almost nobody's internet can go faster than 30Mbps anyway, I think hardware has achieved superiority over software and the internet a while ago.

Cons: Doesn't make me sammiches and waffles in the morning, doesn't unzip my pants.

4 out of 5 eggsDidn't bother to try another product

Pros: Simply works
- Stable connection
- Less heat
- Comes with extension cable & Mini-CD Drive
- Easily max out 150mbps

Cons: Some people might want smaller/compact size but for me it's a pro since it's affecting signal quality
- Cap, it's easy to lost it after you plug this to your workstation.
Because of the cap, probably this product is not perfect choice for mobile user.

Other Thoughts: I'm using 6 unit WN727N + 1 WN725N + 1 WN723N paired with MR 3420, before that I'm using Old WRT54GL, I know I have to replace it sooner or later.
My first purchase for this unit was on june 2012, 2nd on feb 2013, and last is Sep 2013.

I'm happy with this product, yes since it's older, but it simply works, unlike the new type this old version this one is better (simply preference)

if people ask my advice for recommendation
I'll refer this product if the user is Desktop user
I'll refer WN725N (Nano Size) if the user is Mobile user.

I'll write review for WN723N later.

Thanks TP-Link for making good product with affordable price.

3 out of 5 eggsNeeds More

Pros: -Fast
-Lightweight
-Fits on my keychain

Cons: -Comes with an installation CD.

Really? I bought this for work as a PC Technician. I knew there was a CD that would come with it but the entire install process and driver's should be on the device itself. It's an extra hassle to jump through to let each customer who has internet problems know that I have to install software from a disc from a company they probably haven't heard of before. Suspicious is on the rise. I'm going back to using my NETGEAR wireless USB card. It's plug-n-play and has a huge advantage over this.

-The cap is way to loose. I ended up having to tape it on because just walking up stairs is enough for it to fly off.

Other Thoughts: I wouldn't recommend it for any type of mobile use. If you have a computer at home that you don't plan to game on or anything, it's fine. But for mobile use it's really a hassle.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi Austin,
We're sorry the adapter does not meet your requirements.
The Installation CD contains the driver for the adapter in case the Windows doesn't come with the driver.
And usually the drivers from manufacturers are optimized and would work better than the Windows built-in driver.

I do hope you can try more and more TP-LINK products in the future.

Best Regards!

3 out of 5 eggsworks great with XP

Pros: works as advertised. I have used it on several different old tower computers to download long updates to the hard drive.

Cons: I have not been able to set up auto connect for WEP.
I have to enter the key every time the computer reboots.

Other Thoughts: I have not read ALL of the manufacturer's read me file yet.
The first time i installed using the wrong model number.
just removed that program and started over.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello Guz,

We appreciate you trying out our product. The setup is realivtely simple and seems like you didn't have an issue configuring he device.

The problem with your device automatically connecting to your Router is going to be set up in Windows itself. For Windows XP you may try the following steps:

Step 1: With the left mouse button, click on the 'Start' button.
Step 2: With the left mouse button, click on 'Control Panel'.
Step 3: With the left mouse button, click on 'Network and Internet Connections' (Network Connections, if in Classic View).
Step 4: With the left mouse button, click on 'Network Connections'.
Step 5: With the right mouse button, click on the 'Wireless Network Connection'.
Step 6: With the left mouse button, click on 'Properties' button.
Step 7: With the left mouse button, click on the 'Wireless Networks' tab.
Step 8: With the left mouse button, click on the name of the wireless network, under 'Preferred networks', that you want to automatically connect to.
Step 9: With the left mouse button, click on the 'Properties' button.
Step 10: With the left mouse button, click on the 'Connection' tab.
Step 11: Ensure there is a checkmark in the checkbox, next to'Connect when this network is in range'.
Step 12: With the left mouse button, click on the 'OK' button.
Step 13: With the left mouse button, click on the 'Advanced' button.
Step 14: With the left mouse button, click to select 'Access point (infrastructure) networks only ' (This will help prevent your connection from bouncing around from one network to another).
Step 15: With the left mouse button, click on the 'Close' button.
Step 16: With the left mouse button, click on the 'OK' button.

We appreciate you trying our adapter and hope you will be able to check out our newer products in the future.

Best Regards!

5 out of 5 eggsGood enough for me

Pros: Easy to install. Work well off the box.

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: I wasn't sure about the product because some people left negative feedback. I was pleasantly surprised to find it quite good. Well built and works great off the box. I installed just driver only, not the software that came with it. My desktop is only about 7-8 ft away from the router and it's getting full signal strength.

5 out of 5 eggsVery good unit

Pros: So far. . . I have just plugged it to my TV Box to stream Live shows and movies from the internet. and it worked flowlessly with the box. It has been recognized by the box instantly. In 5 hours continues use no drop or halt in the signal

Cons: none so far

5 out of 5 eggsNo Complaints So Far

Pros: Easy setup, Good signal, comes with a USB cable.
Drivers are stored logically on the setup disk. There is a folder at Root level labeled "Drivers", with sub-folders by OS clearly labeled (wish other brands could figure this out), and there was no software required to install them...

Cons: None Really.
This stick is rather long, but the included usb cable resolves that issue.

Other Thoughts: I purchased this on sale at a local retailer for $9, and figured what do i have to lose? I was prepared to hate it, but was pleasantly surprised. It's far better than any usb adapter i have ever used from Netgear, Dlink, or Linksys...

I am a Cisco certified engineer, so i live and breathe networking...
I would totally reccomend this to anyone
