Wireless is great but sometimes hard wired is required.

4 out of 5 eggsTP link 5 port gigabit

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-SG1005D 10/100/1000Mbps Unmanaged 5-Port Gigabit Desktop Switch, Power-Saving

Pros: Basic functionality is fine for splitting a single ethernet to multiple workstations under desk etc. The price is excellent and the quality of the unit look is great - much better than the old metal netgear 4-5 port hubs.

Cons: One weakness is no leds to indicate giga vs fast ether speeds. It would be nice to have the amber/green light to reflect speed of what is connected.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-SG1005D 10/100/1000Mbps Unmanaged 5-Port Gigabit Desktop Switch, Power-Saving

Pros: perfect switching at one gigabit +/-, no hiccups, power brick stable, absolutely zero (-247 Kelvin) complaints.

Cons: Does not include zero point (self-) powered resource. Will not keep coffe warm.

Other Thoughts: replaced an old router that was limited to 100bps.
Set it and forget it. I love it.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat low cost switch

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-SG1005D 10/100/1000Mbps Unmanaged 5-Port Gigabit Desktop Switch, Power-Saving

Pros: Preforms great for a low cost Gb switch.

Cons: Shorter power cord then usual. Doesn't really discredit the switch though.

5 out of 5 eggsGigabit Switch

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-SG1005D 10/100/1000Mbps Unmanaged 5-Port Gigabit Desktop Switch, Power-Saving

Pros: - Gigabit Ports
- 5-Port Switch
- It Works

Cons: - Could be smaller

Other Thoughts: It's a 5-port Gigabit Ethernet switch that works. Not much else to say. I do wish manufacturers would start making these things smaller like they can, but until then, I'll just have to deal with massive boxes on my walls. This TP-Link switch doesn't feel to bad, it has a solid weight to it.

It is an Ethernet switch, it works, I have had no issues with it, and I foresee no issues with it in the future.

5 out of 5 eggslow profile plenty of ports

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-SG1005D 10/100/1000Mbps Unmanaged 5-Port Gigabit Desktop Switch, Power-Saving

Pros: bought two for two different home theater setups, they are small enough to hide inside the racks.

Cons: the wall warts are annoying but easily forgettable.

Other Thoughts: never had a problem!

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome little switch

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-SG1005D 10/100/1000Mbps Unmanaged 5-Port Gigabit Desktop Switch, Power-Saving

Pros: For what I needed it for (1 cable split to 3 machines) it works great and no slow downs. The backplane is 10Gbps so each port gets full speed!

Power saving options also to power down ports are great

Cons: No cons so far, pretty satisfied with it.
