5 out of 5 eggsperfect solution

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WN722N Wireless N150 High Gain USB Adapter, 150Mbps, w/4 dBi High Gain Detachable Antenna, IEEE 802.11b/g/n, WEP, WPA/WPA2

Pros: My built in wireless adapter that came with my laptop was actually experiencing wear and tear, which is bizarre. You'd figure it would just suddenly stop working, rather than fade away like a dying man. I was forced to either hard link to a router or be in very close range. I live in the loft of a house. The router is below me, although only by about 50 feet, yet i was having trouble getting a stable connection and decent speeds. This behavior was consistent across multiple routers and setups, like trying to connect to starbucks' hotspot.

So I bought this thing. Amazing price for what you get. Easy installation. Took almost no time. Immediately connected to my wifi and had speeds up to 50 mbps, which is pretty good, and just short of the actual top connection speed you would get if you plugged directly into the modem.

Cons: I dunno. It's kinda big I guess. Sticks out 3 inches, and while the free usb stand is cool, I use my laptop in a very mobile on-the-go way, so I'm probably never going to use that.

Also, it'd be cool if it had an FAQ. I have a few questions that I'll have to do my own research on.

2 out of 5 eggsNice if it works properly

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WN722N Wireless N150 High Gain USB Adapter, 150Mbps, w/4 dBi High Gain Detachable Antenna, IEEE 802.11b/g/n, WEP, WPA/WPA2

Pros: It is fast (advertised speeds) when it works.

Cons: The unit disconnects and hangs my PC often enough to cause it to be not reliable enough to use. I have tried it on 3 different PC running Win 8 and 7 and all have the same issue.

Other Thoughts: When it works the speeds are slightly faster than my other 2 adapters, but they are 99% reliable, this one is not.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WN722N Wireless N150 High Gain USB Adapter, 150Mbps, w/4 dBi High Gain Detachable Antenna, IEEE 802.11b/g/n, WEP, WPA/WPA2

Pros: This has excellent signal strength near a router.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I have used this far away(100 feet maybe) from the router and had medium internet speeds while gaming. I bought another one because the first one worked.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks For What I need

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WN722N Wireless N150 High Gain USB Adapter, 150Mbps, w/4 dBi High Gain Detachable Antenna, IEEE 802.11b/g/n, WEP, WPA/WPA2

Pros: Sleek look

Cons: Does disconnect from time to time but isn't frequent.

Other Thoughts: I use this to give my PC capabilities to run as a router and usually only have my phone connected to it.

5 out of 5 eggsCheap (in a good way) and reliable.

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WN722N Wireless N150 High Gain USB Adapter, 150Mbps, w/4 dBi High Gain Detachable Antenna, IEEE 802.11b/g/n, WEP, WPA/WPA2

Pros: Easy setup right out of the box, reliable and cheap. I have two at home, and sent two to my mother when her laptop stopped connecting to her router (the 2nd one is a spare, she thinks she's too clumsy to have just one!).

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsDoes what it should!

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WN722N Wireless N150 High Gain USB Adapter, 150Mbps, w/4 dBi High Gain Detachable Antenna, IEEE 802.11b/g/n, WEP, WPA/WPA2

Pros: Easy setup. After loading the driver it found my network and has worked flawlessly, nonstop since the install.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Works great, but it is a little large. That wasn't a problem for me, but if you have a tight space to work with it could be an isue.

1 out of 5 eggsMove on, lil' doggy

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WN722N Wireless N150 High Gain USB Adapter, 150Mbps, w/4 dBi High Gain Detachable Antenna, IEEE 802.11b/g/n, WEP, WPA/WPA2

Pros: It was cheap when I bought it, maybe even free with MIR

Cons: It works but intermittently causes computer to hang

Other Thoughts: The inconvenience of having this adapter disrupt my workflow is not worth the savings I got, in fact if someone were to give me this for free, after using it and having my computer crash, I wouldn't trust them again. It is for that reason that as soon as a replacement is secured I will be field destroying it, or leaving it in a person's house whom I dislike.
