5 out of 5 eggsFantastic for the Price

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WN722N Wireless N150 High Gain USB Adapter, 150Mbps, w/4 dBi High Gain Detachable Antenna, IEEE 802.11b/g/n, WEP, WPA/WPA2

Pros: -Good Range
-Solid speed (same as 300 Mbps dual band adapters)
-Price is a huge plus as this performed better than some other network adapters between $30-$40.

Cons: Without the antenna which one of my cats chewed through once, this network adapter performs very poorly which is to be expected.

Other Thoughts: I bought a second one of these for my mother who loves it, she says that now she never has connection problems with her internet anymore. As for me I bought another one when my cat chewed through the first, definitely a worthwhile investment.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat for what it does.

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WN722N Wireless N150 High Gain USB Adapter, 150Mbps, w/4 dBi High Gain Detachable Antenna, IEEE 802.11b/g/n, WEP, WPA/WPA2

Pros: +Increased signal range
+Increased signal strength
+Does what it is supposed to well

Cons: -Size (bad for laptops)
-Disconnects

If you are going to use this with a laptop, its too big and the antenna gets in the way.
My experiences using this on a desktop, whenever I lock the computer and log back in, sometimes it disconnects the device, but this is easily fixed by unplugging and re-plugging it.

Other Thoughts: If you are buying this for a desktop, it is a MUST buy!

if its for a laptop, reconsider buying a smaller form factor.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat product

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WN722N Wireless N150 High Gain USB Adapter, 150Mbps, w/4 dBi High Gain Detachable Antenna, IEEE 802.11b/g/n, WEP, WPA/WPA2

Pros: Good build quality, antenna is not flimsy. Have used as a hardwire substitute for my home desktop, as room does not allow ethernet connection. Rock steady connection, speed is as fast as Time Warner arbitrarily allows.

Cons: Had minor difficulties with driver installation in 64 bit Windows 7, simple web search for updated drivers fixed it.

3 out of 5 eggsMeh

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WN722N Wireless N150 High Gain USB Adapter, 150Mbps, w/4 dBi High Gain Detachable Antenna, IEEE 802.11b/g/n, WEP, WPA/WPA2

Pros: I just plugged it into a USB port and it started working right away. There was no installation process. It came with a CD but I never used it. I have Windows 8 btw. I'm guessing it works with some standard driver that's included in the OS.

It's pretty fast. I've always used my PC hardwired via Ethernet and I don't notice any speed difference through this device.

Cons: Sometimes when I turn my PC on the adapter doesn't work. I pull it out of the USB slot and put it back in a time or two and then it starts working again. No idea why.

Other Thoughts: It was cheap. If I really cared to get something better I could. I don't because this is fine.

5 out of 5 eggsExceptional reception and speed

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WN722N Wireless N150 High Gain USB Adapter, 150Mbps, w/4 dBi High Gain Detachable Antenna, IEEE 802.11b/g/n, WEP, WPA/WPA2

Pros: Excellent speed at 50 feet, always at 100% signal strength, great price, very convenient in USB form factor

Cons: Slightly large form factor. CD didn't install correctly (not needed)

Other Thoughts: I initially purchased a EDIMAX EW-7811Un and it delivered terrible performance. At 50 feet, it failed to deliver 2 Mbps while this adapter delivered a consistent 150 Mbps. If you're deciding which one to get, buy this. You won't be disappointed.

1 out of 5 eggsAbsolute garbage

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WN722N Wireless N150 High Gain USB Adapter, 150Mbps, w/4 dBi High Gain Detachable Antenna, IEEE 802.11b/g/n, WEP, WPA/WPA2

Pros: None

Cons: Too big to fit side by side with other USBs.

Can barely hold a connection.

Outperformed by my laptop from 2010, and my Galaxy S4.

Constantly drops the connection.

Other Thoughts: Pay the extra money and get something worthwhile.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks with Raspberry Pi

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WN722N Wireless N150 High Gain USB Adapter, 150Mbps, w/4 dBi High Gain Detachable Antenna, IEEE 802.11b/g/n, WEP, WPA/WPA2

Pros: Tested with a B+ model Raspberry pi. Works without issue in Raspbian, and other Linuxes as well.

Cons: n/a

Other Thoughts: This even supports the mode required to build your own Wifi access point / router if you want to (I wouldn't suggest doing that on a Raspberry Pi, obviously)
