5 out of 5 eggsWorks with Raspberry Pi

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WN722N Wireless N150 High Gain USB Adapter, 150Mbps, w/4 dBi High Gain Detachable Antenna, IEEE 802.11b/g/n, WEP, WPA/WPA2

Pros: Tested with a B+ model Raspberry pi. Works without issue in Raspbian, and other Linuxes as well.

Cons: n/a

Other Thoughts: This even supports the mode required to build your own Wifi access point / router if you want to (I wouldn't suggest doing that on a Raspberry Pi, obviously)

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing Signal Strength

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WN722N Wireless N150 High Gain USB Adapter, 150Mbps, w/4 dBi High Gain Detachable Antenna, IEEE 802.11b/g/n, WEP, WPA/WPA2

Pros: It has an extremely solid signal strength. Much better than a PCI card and another wireless USB adapter that I have used. Drivers work without any tweaking and there's no software it installs.

Cons: It's fairly large, and it only comes in white, which is not a color that matches most computer cases.

Other Thoughts: At just over $13 it goes to prove that researching you're buy is more important that just buying an expensive part expecting it to perform.

4 out of 5 eggsBetter than my last adapter

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WN722N Wireless N150 High Gain USB Adapter, 150Mbps, w/4 dBi High Gain Detachable Antenna, IEEE 802.11b/g/n, WEP, WPA/WPA2

Pros: I'm using this on a desktop and it's working great, far better than a mini adapter I used to use. May not be the best for a laptop but for my desktop it works great!

Cons: Didn't install smoothly at first and I had lots of issues getting the drivers right. Turns out most of my problem was that I had it plugged into a USB 3.0 port. Once I moved it to a 2.0 it worked fine.

Other Thoughts: I don't get why it won't work in whatever USB port I try. I'm a little disappointed that I can't just plug it in and have it work but overall, now that it is working, it's still much better than what I've used in the past.

3 out of 5 eggsNot the best adapter ...

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WN722N Wireless N150 High Gain USB Adapter, 150Mbps, w/4 dBi High Gain Detachable Antenna, IEEE 802.11b/g/n, WEP, WPA/WPA2

Pros: Works well and the free usb cradle makes for a more convenient placement of the adapter for best reception .

Cons: The adapter would not come back on when the pc came out of sleep. Even after disabling all sleep and hibernation modes on the pc, the adapter would not function after long periods of inactivity. Once removed and reinstalled into the usb cradle, or if the pc is rebooted, the adapter would work fine and for as long as you used it. It's just faulty when not used, and is left to sit idle for an extended period of time.

5 out of 5 eggsReliable, great cradle with promo

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WN722N Wireless N150 High Gain USB Adapter, 150Mbps, w/4 dBi High Gain Detachable Antenna, IEEE 802.11b/g/n, WEP, WPA/WPA2

Pros: The design is cool. Not in the description, but there is an activity light on the front that's hidden that blinks. Cool design. Never had a signal drops, and the computer is upstairs. If you get it with the cradle you can get much better signal. Great little adapter for the money.

Cons: None that I can think of

3 out of 5 eggs3 year owner

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WN722N Wireless N150 High Gain USB Adapter, 150Mbps, w/4 dBi High Gain Detachable Antenna, IEEE 802.11b/g/n, WEP, WPA/WPA2

Pros: I have owned this thing for 3 years and it still works quite well. If you're looking for just a basic wireless usb receiver and you are not trying to spend a whole lot then this one is a winner. This card is both reliable and performs great for the price.

Cons: This product is basically useless. It's big and it juts out quite a bit and there is no real place for it. If you have a laptop, this is way too big. If you have a desktop then its either going to crowd up the back of it or stick out the front. The only way you can get it be comfortable somewhere is with a USB extension cable. If you need a wireless receiver for your desktop, you'd be way better off buying an internal one that plugs right in to your motherboard.

Other Thoughts: Don't get me wrong, this is a good product. However, its always out of place wherever it is and its just a much smarter move to get an internal receiver.

3 out of 5 eggsDoes a great job for two years, no more.

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WN722N Wireless N150 High Gain USB Adapter, 150Mbps, w/4 dBi High Gain Detachable Antenna, IEEE 802.11b/g/n, WEP, WPA/WPA2

Pros: Really, it's all in the title. It does a great job...for about two years.

Cons: Died absolutely without warning a little less than two years after I began using it. Yes, I've plugged it into other slots, even a different computer: The only result is that my laptop tried to use it instead of its internal card and lost internet altogether.

Other Thoughts: Buy two, and keep one as a spare. For $13, you really can't expect much more from it.

2 out of 5 eggsDid its job

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WN722N Wireless N150 High Gain USB Adapter, 150Mbps, w/4 dBi High Gain Detachable Antenna, IEEE 802.11b/g/n, WEP, WPA/WPA2

Pros: Did what it was supposed to do.

Cons: Recently died on me only after having it for 2 years

Manufacturer Response:

Hello Customer,

Thank you for checking out our Adapter.

We are sorry to see this device die on you.

If you haven't done so already I would suggest trying to plug this device into different USB Ports/Computers to see if it is in fact dead or possibly the USB port going bad.

Unfortunately our Manufacture warranty is only for two years, but we can definitely help trouble-shoot the device and attempt to get it up and running again.

Please feel free to contact our 24 hour technical support for further assistance.

Best Regards!
