5 out of 5 eggsWorks great!

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WN722N Wireless N150 High Gain USB Adapter, 150Mbps, w/4 dBi High Gain Detachable Antenna, IEEE 802.11b/g/n, WEP, WPA/WPA2

Pros: Well it does exactly what it needs to. It has great range for such a cheap device. I have never run into a compatibility issue with any wireless router. (I have changed routers so much) The SOFTAP is a great feature I have used it several times for my cell phone to get wifi without having to deal with me losing connection from the actual router due to distance. It is also great for file transferring from PC to PC. (Turn the mode to LAN mode and connect the PC to the SOFTAP and you have a small file transfer connection.). Other than that its a great device.

Cons: Well the stand would be the only thing. For some reason this device has a problem being hooked up to multiple usb connections so I ditched it all together and now it just sits directly in my computer. Didn't feel this actually mattered so no knocks off the rating.

Other Thoughts: I have had this for over 2 years and I am greatly satisfied. I have been through 3 keyboards and 3 mice 1 case and a power supply. One item that hasnt changed is this device so its pretty good.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat product

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WN722N Wireless N150 High Gain USB Adapter, 150Mbps, w/4 dBi High Gain Detachable Antenna, IEEE 802.11b/g/n, WEP, WPA/WPA2

Pros: Setup easy as pie, Quick and reliable connectivity with the high gain, CHEAP!, USB extension cable is good for tight places where the adapter is too wide.

Cons: Large size as far as width, difficult to fit in tight spaces with other USB ports close by; Problem solved with USB extension.

Other Thoughts: Overall a good product that is fantastic bang for your buck. Good for anything from solving connectivity problems with a laptop to replacing a cable on a desktop(a trade-off for a bit more latency).

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Signal Reception

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WN722N Wireless N150 High Gain USB Adapter, 150Mbps, w/4 dBi High Gain Detachable Antenna, IEEE 802.11b/g/n, WEP, WPA/WPA2

Pros: This adapter does what it is supposed to do. It never drops my connection and can pick up my router pretty much anywhere in the house. I had a cisco adapter that could be right next to my router and still show a low signal. I don't have anything bad to say about tp-link. Great budget friendly wireless equipment.

Cons: No cons frojavascript:Biz.Feedback.RateProduct.Form.submit('display')m perspective

5 out of 5 eggsstill running since 2011

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WN722N Wireless N150 High Gain USB Adapter, 150Mbps, w/4 dBi High Gain Detachable Antenna, IEEE 802.11b/g/n, WEP, WPA/WPA2

Pros: cheap and it's still running! but i only started using it continuously maybe 2 years ago since i got my desktop and the wireless card/antenna that came with the pc sucks. I bought it at even cheaper since i think this brand only started on new egg or something.

Cons: sometimes it bugs and drops connection... donno why, but i just deplug and replug it. no big deal, i don't think it ever dropped connection while downloading.

Other Thoughts: the only thing that annoys me is that it's a bit big and you will not be able to plug anything on the usb just beside it. But it can't be helped i suppose. and it's not compatible with the old WDTV that doesn't have wireless (i originally bought it thinking maybe it would work...)

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WN722N Wireless N150 High Gain USB Adapter, 150Mbps, w/4 dBi High Gain Detachable Antenna, IEEE 802.11b/g/n, WEP, WPA/WPA2

Pros: -Great Price
-Good Range

Cons: -Failed after two years, not highly dependable but it will do the job
-Software UI isn't perfect, some quirks

Other Thoughts: This will fit into any budget, especially when your wallet is bleeding from your expensive builds!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for wifi analysis

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WN722N Wireless N150 High Gain USB Adapter, 150Mbps, w/4 dBi High Gain Detachable Antenna, IEEE 802.11b/g/n, WEP, WPA/WPA2

Pros: Super cheap
Atheros AR9271 chip, perfect for monitor mode + packet injection
Native support on Linux
Decent range although I haven't tried it from a far away distance

Cons: Non so far, I will update when I use it more.

Other Thoughts: This is a good tool if you're planning on doing some wifi analysis using something like Backtrack or Kali, supports monitor mode and can inject packets, those are the two main points. Is a cheap way to do a network audit, there are better options like the Alfa cards which support a longer range but for the money ($9 on sale) this card is perfect.

5 out of 5 eggsDoes what it's supposed to!

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WN722N Wireless N150 High Gain USB Adapter, 150Mbps, w/4 dBi High Gain Detachable Antenna, IEEE 802.11b/g/n, WEP, WPA/WPA2

Pros: This is my second one. Both worked right out of the box with N speeds on my Windows 7x64 and Arch Linux bootable drives with no trouble at all.

The bundled cable/dock piece also helped.

Cons: None that I could see.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic for the Price

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WN722N Wireless N150 High Gain USB Adapter, 150Mbps, w/4 dBi High Gain Detachable Antenna, IEEE 802.11b/g/n, WEP, WPA/WPA2

Pros: -Good Range
-Solid speed (same as 300 Mbps dual band adapters)
-Price is a huge plus as this performed better than some other network adapters between $30-$40.

Cons: Without the antenna which one of my cats chewed through once, this network adapter performs very poorly which is to be expected.

Other Thoughts: I bought a second one of these for my mother who loves it, she says that now she never has connection problems with her internet anymore. As for me I bought another one when my cat chewed through the first, definitely a worthwhile investment.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat for what it does.

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WN722N Wireless N150 High Gain USB Adapter, 150Mbps, w/4 dBi High Gain Detachable Antenna, IEEE 802.11b/g/n, WEP, WPA/WPA2

Pros: +Increased signal range
+Increased signal strength
+Does what it is supposed to well

Cons: -Size (bad for laptops)
-Disconnects

If you are going to use this with a laptop, its too big and the antenna gets in the way.
My experiences using this on a desktop, whenever I lock the computer and log back in, sometimes it disconnects the device, but this is easily fixed by unplugging and re-plugging it.

Other Thoughts: If you are buying this for a desktop, it is a MUST buy!

if its for a laptop, reconsider buying a smaller form factor.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat product

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WN722N Wireless N150 High Gain USB Adapter, 150Mbps, w/4 dBi High Gain Detachable Antenna, IEEE 802.11b/g/n, WEP, WPA/WPA2

Pros: Good build quality, antenna is not flimsy. Have used as a hardwire substitute for my home desktop, as room does not allow ethernet connection. Rock steady connection, speed is as fast as Time Warner arbitrarily allows.

Cons: Had minor difficulties with driver installation in 64 bit Windows 7, simple web search for updated drivers fixed it.
