2 out of 5 eggsDid its job

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WN722N Wireless N150 High Gain USB Adapter, 150Mbps, w/4 dBi High Gain Detachable Antenna, IEEE 802.11b/g/n, WEP, WPA/WPA2

Pros: Did what it was supposed to do.

Cons: Recently died on me only after having it for 2 years

Manufacturer Response:

Hello Customer,

Thank you for checking out our Adapter.

We are sorry to see this device die on you.

If you haven't done so already I would suggest trying to plug this device into different USB Ports/Computers to see if it is in fact dead or possibly the USB port going bad.

Unfortunately our Manufacture warranty is only for two years, but we can definitely help trouble-shoot the device and attempt to get it up and running again.

Please feel free to contact our 24 hour technical support for further assistance.

Best Regards!

4 out of 5 eggsWorks well!

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WN722N Wireless N150 High Gain USB Adapter, 150Mbps, w/4 dBi High Gain Detachable Antenna, IEEE 802.11b/g/n, WEP, WPA/WPA2

Pros: I really do think this is just what I need considering I don't have that big of a house. I had a PCIe wireless receiver before, but it limited my crossfire, so I stopped using it and got this USB receiver instead, works great!

Cons: *Not really any for my needs that I noticed.

Other Thoughts: I hope this lasts me awhile, because after all it gives me my Internet!

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WN722N Wireless N150 High Gain USB Adapter, 150Mbps, w/4 dBi High Gain Detachable Antenna, IEEE 802.11b/g/n, WEP, WPA/WPA2

Pros: This has the Atheros AR9002U which is a great chipset and works beautifully on Linux.

Cons: Antenna takes up space, you can detach it if you want.

1 out of 5 eggsStops working every other day

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WN722N Wireless N150 High Gain USB Adapter, 150Mbps, w/4 dBi High Gain Detachable Antenna, IEEE 802.11b/g/n, WEP, WPA/WPA2

Pros: not sure. it kind of works?

Cons: I may have just got a bunk one but after about 30 hours of use on any (windows 7) PC the connection is lost and can only be regained by disabling and enabling the adapter. Tried most if not all the drivers available and problem persists. Even tried a fresh install of the OS.

Other Thoughts: I have only kept it because it came with a cool cradle and I was able to use the antenna on my Rosewill adapter which had signal issues . I currently use this adapter for temporary use like fixing peoples computers.

3 out of 5 eggsIt works... kinda

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WN722N Wireless N150 High Gain USB Adapter, 150Mbps, w/4 dBi High Gain Detachable Antenna, IEEE 802.11b/g/n, WEP, WPA/WPA2

Pros: - works most of the time

- gets you to the internet

Cons: - Intermittent

- shuts off seemingly, when computer is put to sleep.. doesn't *wake back up* when computer does..

- USB dock lasted a few months

- Not much support / updates for the software.

Other Thoughts: Basically from day one this thing has been intermittent.. some days it would work fine other days it just wouldn't..

The little dock I got with it stopped working a few months after purchase. so now I plug it straight into the USB port..

Every now and again when I try to load a web page, or something else that depends on internet.. it will stop working, and I will have to remove it from the port and plug it back in.. sometimes multiple times until it reconnects.. ( when I lose connection I always pull out my phone or my iPad and check their Wi-Fi connection and when they can connect fine it can only be one thing... the adapter.)

another thing, when I put my computer to sleep and wake it up the USB Adapter just doesn't seem to exist.. until I unplug it and plug it back in...

over all this thing is just a little wonky.. sometimes it works just fine, but other times it just intermittently disconnects, and wont work until you unplug and plug it back in...

annoying.

So now I am buying something else...

2 out of 5 eggsIf you like BSODs you will love this

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WN722N Wireless N150 High Gain USB Adapter, 150Mbps, w/4 dBi High Gain Detachable Antenna, IEEE 802.11b/g/n, WEP, WPA/WPA2

Pros: Its sleek and the cord is long enough. Signal strength was fairly good

Cons: I was trying my best to find the 'disk' that came with this product when I was moving this from one computer to another and also to another room in the house. Could not find disc, was informed that you can just 'download the drivers' I did so. This has been a night mare. It seems to work for a few hours, but surely enough I start getting BSODS. Once they start they come fast and furious. Meaning I can work without it plugged in, but if I wanted to see that lovely color, I would just plug it in and walla, bsod in about 15 seconds. I uninstalled the driver completely, rebooted, installed another driver that was from 2012. Once again worked fine for about an hour then bsod yet again. I read that its because your not telling Windows to 'sign it' first, meaning tell windows to use the driver even if it thinks its non compatible. I never get this screen. Instead it sees the driver I download. Works for a bit with 4 bars instead of 5 which is fine considering I am 90 feet from the router. But these BSODS are killing me. Going with another product.

Other Thoughts: If you like the color blue, even though this is white, then the product is for you.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Deal

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WN722N Wireless N150 High Gain USB Adapter, 150Mbps, w/4 dBi High Gain Detachable Antenna, IEEE 802.11b/g/n, WEP, WPA/WPA2

Pros: I have used 3 of these adapters on 3 pc's in my house for about 21/2 years in conjunction with a Linksys WRT54GL router and they have worked great

Cons: None at all

Other Thoughts: Works great. Website easy to upgrade firmware.

3 out of 5 eggsYou get what you pay for

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WN722N Wireless N150 High Gain USB Adapter, 150Mbps, w/4 dBi High Gain Detachable Antenna, IEEE 802.11b/g/n, WEP, WPA/WPA2

Pros: 1) This is a cheap WiFi solution for most users.
2) It is "generally" reliable. See other thoughts.

Cons: 1) This is a cheap WiFi solution.
2) The driver support is almost non-existent. You download an package for Win 7/8 and it installs. There is no control over the installation location or user input.
3) There is nothing to modify in the Device Manager or the "driver suite". So, if this goes bad, sorry about your luck.

Other Thoughts: This is a generally decent product. It works. It's a bit fiddly but it still works and I've had only one (1) network failure. The problem was resolved by the disable/enable technique in the networking window.

Other than my one problem, this device is trouble free; so why only 3 eggs? Well, it's a PITA to install because the MAC is not on the device and you have to use netstat.exe to find it for those of us who use MAC filtering on our WAP's (-1 egg), and there's no real way to troubleshoot it if it fails (-1 egg). Other than those two things, I have two of them (one for me, one for my son) and they work fine.

Manufacturer Response:

5 out of 5 eggsGreat choice if you have to go wifi

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WN722N Wireless N150 High Gain USB Adapter, 150Mbps, w/4 dBi High Gain Detachable Antenna, IEEE 802.11b/g/n, WEP, WPA/WPA2

Pros: Works perfectly for gaming, streaming and casual use (in my experience). I thought my modem had an issue, but upgrading to this adapter resolved all of my connectivity problems. Full signal through 1 floor and 1 room (~6m).

Cons: Pretty big, there wasn't room to put it directly in the USB slots on the back of my tower, so I used a USB extension to plug it in.
