5 out of 5 eggsAmazing. how can they do this for under $30?

Pros: I purchased this or use with a home video security system and can honestly say I am blown away at how good this $29 wireless access point is.

Zero usage issues, speeds always at the top of the range. Easy to set up. Just plain fantastic.

TP-Link makes great stuff. They're very underrated and for $29 you can't go wrong with this unit.

Cons: None to report.

Other Thoughts: TP-Link offers some great products at prices that can't be beat. Glad I found them.

5 out of 5 eggsTP-LINK TL-WA801ND Wireless N300 Access Point

Pros: Has been working flawlessly for about 5 months with not a single reset needed due to slow access or lockup.

Cons: A bit tricky to set up to configure a new base IP and setting the mode to access point, but that's probably due to my inexperience with AP's in general.

Resets for saving config changes take 80+ seconds to complete.

Other Thoughts: For newbies: To access this router's web GUI, be sure to disable WiFi and disconnect any LAN cable goingr from your PC to a regular router.

PC-to-PC large file transfer rate with a PC-AP-PC LAN connection is right around 200 GBytes/sec. When one of the PCs is WiFi-connected to my internet router and the other by LAN to the AP, large file transfer rate averages around 1.8MBytes/sec. "Your mileage *will* vary" due to your router's distance, obstructions, PC wireless adapter, etc.

4 out of 5 eggsWorking well as expected

Pros: These thngs were a breeze to configure. They worked flawlessly on POE, even though you must use the passive adapters, it is still great way to place remote AP's. There were put into a small Drs office environment and they love them. The VLAN aspect is great and it is fast. Perfect.

Cons: Passive POE, but not a deal breaker

4 out of 5 eggsGood value

Pros: Easy to setup. Dual antennas.

Cons: Power seems a bit weak. Having trouble with smartphones getting access to internet with it. They can connect to the ap but not the internet always.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome

Pros: Flawless linux support without having to build a kernel module. Very fast compared to the smaller usb wireless adapters (naturally).

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I'm buying another one. With the Edimax "world's smallest" usb wireless adapter I was getting multi-second stalls regularily and pitiful average transfer speed, so this is vastly superior in comparison since it actually -works-.

5 out of 5 eggsSo far so good

Pros: Sets up easy, used as access point and repeater in a daisy chain setup. Seems to be stable, no failures to date. Despite some reviews on troubled setups, I have not had those issues. The IP address is easily changed to match existing IP. As far as wireless power goes, it saturates the area pretty good. I setup as repeaters for a customer, no access in second building cinder block walls throughout, now whole area is flooded with signal.

Cons: The 5 eggs are not for newegg's prices, just for the device itself. I bought my most recent ones from a competitor, for $12 a piece less....shame on your newegg, where is the willingness to be competitive?

Other Thoughts: Don't let the fact this is a lesser known company(TP-Link) here, I've very impressed with the value/performance and feature rich products. Now that said, I use them for repeaters and access points, not for main routers(my fav is netgear)

1 out of 5 eggsMultiple SSID useless: no isolation

Pros: Inexpensive and easy to configure

Cons: I setup a vlan for a guest network and connected my laptop to it. In sniffing the network, I find that I see traffic for both the vlan *and* the base lan the the vlan is running on. Not even considering the security implications, this causes the laptop to pick up the wrong ipv6 network when autoconfiguring.

1 out of 5 eggsCaps out at 2 connected devices

Pros: Flashy lights. Seems to work. Acceptable interface.

Cons: When I first purchased this Access Point it worked reasonably well - slow, but multiple devices could connect to it. Now it has decided to cap out at a maximum of two connected devices at once, and the only way to get a 3rd connected is to power cycle the Access Point - but then of course one of the first two devices won't be able to connect now that the 3rd one is connected.

I've looked in the settings but I have 20 different ports opened up for wireless connections, but it seems to only use two of them. I've also had two friends who are more educated on networking stuff than I am mess with the interface and AP and they've had no better luck. It just seems that this device is now limited to a maximum of two connected devices.

Other Thoughts: I purchased this AP primarily to grant wireless access when having people over - all my other devices are hard wired into my network. But once two devices are connected, nothing else will connect. Totally unacceptable behavior from an Access Point.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Well

Pros: Nice 2.4 GHz WAP with Power Over Ethernet, which is really convenient. Has an easy config page and was pretty easy to set up.

Cons: Odd setup IP of 192.168.0.254, I had to change my IP to access it since my network is 192.168.1.x
