5 out of 5 eggsGreat Product

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WN822N Wireless N300 High Gain USB Adapter, 300 Mbps, Dual 3dBi External Antennas, w/ WPS Button, IEEE 802.1b/g/n, WEP / WPA / WPA2, Plug & Play in Windows 10 (32 bit & 64 bit)

Pros: -Amazing range
-Solid connections
-Creates more of a WiFi "bubble" compared to a beacon shape like a lighthouse light (as larger antennas do)
-Fast connection @ 270 Mbps internally (on a constant basis - used driver only not entire suite)
-Connects through old walls that other adapters typically do not - And is STILL much faster than others

Cons: -ONLY 2.4 GHz band
-I prefer black, but the color of the green light bothers me more (green and white don't match any of my other pieces - but this was the only option)
-I wish that I was able to secure an original v1 or older version that supports packet injection - as this would be an amazing adapter for pentesting *(the v1 can, although v2 and v3 do not - Not 100% sure.. v2 might support, but I have received the version that does not)

Other Thoughts: I like that this can be positioned in many different manners w/o affecting the signal much. As I mentioned, it is more of a bubble of broadcast, rather than a beacon from a lighthouse. So those who have the injection-capable version are lucky... it is a great adapter, but I purchased this over a year ago and received the non-injection model. So I doubt that the injection-capable version will be available on many sites that do not list it specifically.

Overall, an amazing adapter for wireless N... I would definitely suggest others purchase this adapter if they are in the market for a strong, fast 2.4 GHz connection via WiFi. And just to mention, the version I received was capable of usage in Linux with a simple update command. In case anyone intends to use for Linux (Kali, Ubuntu, etc.)

5 out of 5 eggsYes, HIGH GAIN

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WN822N Wireless N300 High Gain USB Adapter, 300 Mbps, Dual 3dBi External Antennas, w/ WPS Button, IEEE 802.1b/g/n, WEP / WPA / WPA2, Plug & Play in Windows 10 (32 bit & 64 bit)

Pros: easy installation
works extremely well
significantly better internet connection

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I connect to my landlord's Comcast wireless internet in the adjoining apartment. I was using a Belkin adapter and decided to change to this TP Link adapter to try and get a better connection. With the Belkin I was getting just under 14 MBPS. By just plugging this adapter in and connecting gave me more than a 3 times better connection at 50 MBPS. I then moved the adapter closer to the wall closest to the adjoining apartment, and the connection increased to 77 - 80 MBPS. I am very happy with the performance of this TP Link wireless adapter and would definitely recommend it to anyone who needs to make a stronger wireless connection to a distant modem.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Product! Easy to setup and use...after Windows 10 is activated.

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WN822N Wireless N300 High Gain USB Adapter, 300 Mbps, Dual 3dBi External Antennas, w/ WPS Button, IEEE 802.1b/g/n, WEP / WPA / WPA2, Plug & Play in Windows 10 (32 bit & 64 bit)

Pros: Device / speed worked as advertised.
If your computer is Microsoft Activated, then the TP-LINK should be recognized by Windows 10/8 without the use of the included drivers.

Cons: Not a con for the TP-LINK TL-WN822N Wireless N300 High Gain USB Adapter, but the problems are with Windows 10

This was a clean install of Windows 10 Pro x64 OEM version, where windows will not permit updates or new hardware until it is Activated! Of course activation requires internet access, so until Activation is accomplished it will NOT recognize the device. (Do not bother installing drivers as this will not help). Had to first connect my computer via wired connection to complete activation. Once Activated, then connecting the TP-LINK to a USB port was instantly recognized by Windows 10, without installing the provided drivers on the mini-CD. Disconnected the wired Ethernet connection, rebooted and the wireless worked perfectly at rated speed.

Other Thoughts: I would highly recommend this product if you need a good USB connected Wi-Fi adapter for your computer. This is actually way cheaper than purchasing a Motherboard with Wi-Fi included which usually comes at a $100 premium price.

4 out of 5 eggsAwesome Product! Simple Install

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WN822N Wireless N300 High Gain USB Adapter, 300 Mbps, Dual 3dBi External Antennas, w/ WPS Button, IEEE 802.1b/g/n, WEP / WPA / WPA2, Plug & Play in Windows 10 (32 bit & 64 bit)

Pros: cheap
powered by usb
small footprint
150 - 300 Mbs (depends on band)
Works flawlessly!

Cons: Only N band
Needs an open USB
When installing drivers I had to unplug it and re-plug it in to get it to search for networks

Other Thoughts: I would definitely recommend this product. Be sure your router is capable of the N band. Have an open USB (2.0 - 3.0 best)

1 out of 5 eggsAbsolute junk

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WN822N Wireless N300 High Gain USB Adapter, 300 Mbps, Dual 3dBi External Antennas, w/ WPS Button, IEEE 802.1b/g/n, WEP / WPA / WPA2, Plug & Play in Windows 10 (32 bit & 64 bit)

Pros: nice package ??

Cons: Lack range. Only half the strength of my old buffalo wireless adapters, both on windows and opensuse. Either don't connect or drop connections. Would cost me more in postage and aggravation to return, so I'll just eat the $20.00 and put TP-Link products on my so not buy list.

Other Thoughts: They should be paying us to get rid of this junk.

5 out of 5 eggsBang for the buck

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WN822N Wireless N300 High Gain USB Adapter, 300 Mbps, Dual 3dBi External Antennas, w/ WPS Button, IEEE 802.1b/g/n, WEP / WPA / WPA2, Plug & Play in Windows 10 (32 bit & 64 bit)

Pros: Excellent sensitivity

Cons: None noted yet

Other Thoughts: I'm separated from my wifi signal by an old-fashioned tin roof in the living room below. A consistent strong signal has always been problematic; I've tried internal and external adapters costing more than double what this little gem did.

My signal problems are over, this is the most sensitive Wifi adapter I've ever owned and it's $20 well spent.

5 out of 5 eggsVery reliable, great range

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-WN822N Wireless N300 High Gain USB Adapter, 300 Mbps, Dual 3dBi External Antennas, w/ WPS Button, IEEE 802.1b/g/n, WEP / WPA / WPA2, Plug & Play in Windows 10 (32 bit & 64 bit)

Pros: I have dealt with so many terrible wireless adapters, most are unreliable and are pieces of junk. This TP-Link adapter is by far the best one I have ever used. Where other wireless adapters have failed to maintain a stable connection this one never drops the signal. Not even once. The range on it beats out every other adapter I have used previously. I bought 3 of these and frankly I'm amazed how dirt cheap it is. It's perfect if you have a lot of walls and a big house.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Windows 7 requires installing the driver. Windows 8 recognized it so it has a built in driver already. Just FYI.
