4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: -Easy fit into a PCIe slot

-Antenna is both rmovable for easy mounting, and adjustable so you can angle it to the wireless router.

-Good price

-Set up is easy, drivers are included in a mini disc

Cons: No cons as far as I have seen

Other Thoughts: The signal dropped down a couple times while downloading a game, but I do not know whether it was a problem with my internet, or with the wi-fi adapter.

5 out of 5 eggsMy 3rd and final review

Pros: First off - TP Link I apologize about my last review

My last review I was complaining about the device not picking up my Motorola Modem by ATT UVERSE. I have recently built a brand new i5 machine with an ASRock z77 Extreme3 board. I have not had one issue what-so-ever with my device since installing it in my new build. This device is working perfect... 5 stars now.

Cons: None now, in a new build and working great.

Other Thoughts: I had this installed in an AMD setup with a MSI 970A-G46 motherboard. I am not sure which piece of hardware was causing the malfunction. But the device would NOT connect to my wifi with the antenna connected. As SOON as I take off the antenna it connects, and I have to manually screw back on the antenna to get my full connection.

2 out of 5 eggsNot so good anymore

Pros: Good connection (when it gets connected)
Good speeds
I like how short the adapter is internally. It can fit easily between cards and doesn't take up a lot of room.

Cons: The antenna... this adapter will not connect to my ATT U-verse Motorola router with the antenna attached.
I discovered it would connect on accident without it attached. Once the connection is established I can then screw on the antenna and I get my full range/speed. I transfer my pc tower from my office to home at least 2 -3 times a week and is very annoying and I cannot find any help on this. So it loses 3 eggs from my last review 11/13/2013

Other Thoughts: Probably going with another brand next time...also, this is my first negative review in ALL my purchases in the last 3 years and I have built various machines with various options.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello Customer,

Thank you for checking out our Adapter.

Your antenna issue is very odd and this is not something that we really encounter.

It could be that the antenna is bad and may need a replacement.

You can also contact our 24 hour technical support team and we can replace the device under our 2 year manufacture warranty.

2 out of 5 eggsMeh

Pros: Works %95 of the time.

Cons: Unfortunately it does't mean anything when every hour or so it will just stop for up to 5 min at a time. Extremely frustrating when trying to game, browse, or just using IM. you'll be forced to sight doing nothing unconnected to the internet while this adapter just idles.

Other Thoughts: Dissatisfied with this adapter, works well usually but when it drops the connection every ~hour it just becomes garbage.

ALSO..... this thing it took me three times to even submit this review and log into Newegg, adapter is very buggy tonight.

1 out of 5 eggsDon't be fooled...

Pros: Well, it was cheap...

Cons: This thing is a piece of junk. I got suckered in by the number of positive reviews on this site. It's not even 40 feet from my router, separated by two rooms with open doorways, and it can't maintain a connection. It says it's consistently connected with 4 bars of signal, but it takes 5 minutes to load a webpage and gets me a download speed of 0 kb/s. I tried to update to the newest driver off the manufacturer's website, and my antivirus software, Avast!, blocked it as an infected file. After that, I couldn't even connect to that site properly.

Other Thoughts: I bought this thing to go with my new desktop, and because of its complete lack of functionality, I haven't even been able to use my new computer for the last month and a half. I bought this card because I'm on a tight budget, and I expected it to work. Caveat emptor, I suppose. I'll be replacing this garbage as soon as I can.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello Customer,

We are sorry that you were not satisfied with this device.

The drivers for this product can be found on our site at: http://www.tp-link.us/products/details/?categoryid=&model=TL-WN781ND

This is the our official site and should be trusted over any third-party site.

Antivirus programs and Wireless adapters have been known to not get along with one another, and you will most likely find that disabling the Antivirus program will allow your adapter to function normally with great connectivity.

If you are still having issues and would like some local suppor then you can feel free to contact me directly at howard.he@tp-link.com.

We also have a 24 hour technical support team that can assist you any time.
