4 out of 5 eggsPretty Decent

Pros: Worked great, good play bf4 64 player, never dropped connection, great range, better than you might think. through two walls and a ceiling i get 2-3 bars. works instantly work windows 8 and 8.1.

Cons: died after 2 years of hard use. about a week ago it started dropping connections like crazy, then i started only getting about 1 mbps down and like 0.1 mbps up, and the next day it died.

Other Thoughts: great for the price

3 out of 5 eggsTP-LINK TL-WN781ND Wireless N150

Pros: Good price, good range.

Cons: Drops out from time to time. Ping is always soaring for no reason, and the software that comes in the disc is not available on the site.

1 out of 5 eggsLast and final review

Pros: Worked great WHEN it worked, I'm just sick of messing with it...Where do I even begin. If you go back a couple of pages, you will see where I left reviews for this thing months ago. This thing is just plain flunky for me, it's no good. It will not break 179kb/s no matter what I do now...

Cons: I went from an AMD setup with the infamous MSI 970A-G46 AM3+ (which has worked GREAT for me, strong steady for 2 years, but irrelevant), and it would barely work. I went between drivers so much I finally just gave up on it, it would not give me my speeds. So I built a new Intel build with a ASRock Z77 Extreme3 LGA 1155 and it worked PERFECTLY...for about.....6 months... I am over it, this thing won't work for me.

Other Thoughts: If I don't figure out how to get this driver fixed soon (like this weekend), and I have to keep running a 12 ft cable, to an old dumb stupid linksys hub, and then a 6ft cable to my PC, this thing is going in the garbage.

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Price

Cons: - Worse link stability than 5 year old my laptop, at the exact same location. Loses connection easily when you do not have constant data stream flowing.
- Very little control over driver, like transmit power and stuff.

Other Thoughts: I would expect much better in a standalone card with antenna than the little stuff in my middle-end old laptop.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello Customer,

Thank you for your review and we are sorry to see that this device gave you some issues.

If you haven't done so already then you can update the Driver to the latest version from our website at: http://www.tp-link.us/products/details/?categoryid=&model=TL-WN781ND#down

I would also suggest trying a different PCIe port if available to see if you get the same results.

We do have a 2 year manufacture RMA policy to replace this device if you are having issues.

You can always feel free to contact me directly for any questions or concerns at howard.he@tp-link.com.

Best Regards!

1 out of 5 eggsPoor signal strength, poor build quality

Pros: Low price
Small form factor, so doesn't impede air flow too much

Cons: Bracket holes do not line up with my case
Very bad reception strength

Other Thoughts: I bought this card after hearing good things about TP-Link. However, after mounting the card, I realized that the holes on the bracket would not line up with the holes in my case. Meanwhile, my GPU has no problems at all lining up with my case. I also double checked that the standoffs for my mobo were installed correctly. This product has POOR quality control.

On top of that, I am literally sitting 15 feet away from my router with NO WALLS in between and I am only getting 3-4 bars. Meanwhile my 2010 HP laptop is getting 5 bars at the same location. I have to say I am extremely disappointed in this product.

1 out of 5 eggsThis thing is terrible

Pros: cheap

Cons: constantly drops signal
when it does have signal, it's very low
80% of the time i am getting dial-up speeds!

Other Thoughts: This is the worst wireless adapter I've ever seen in my life! even for the cheap price tag i'm still p'd off. my router is not even 30 feet away from my computer yet this thing rarely gets a good signal. most the time its 1 bar, sometimes 2. highest i ever saw it go was 3 bars. all my other devices get almost full bars from the exact same room. the thing is constantly disconnecting. and when it isn't disconnecting all the time it very rarely performs as it should. 80% of the time i am getting insanely slow speeds.. i'm talking like dial up speeds. i know it is not software related as i've tried all the latest drivers from the manufacturers website and i even tested it doing a fresh windows install so i have ruled out software. it's 100% a piece of garbage hardware problem. i can't be bothered to send in back for an exchange as shipping would probaby cost more than i paid for the darn thing. anyways biggest piece of junk wireless card i've ever owned. my 10 year old d-link wireless G card is faster than this so called wireless N card.. don't waste your time or money

2 out of 5 eggsprice reflects quality

Pros: $14.99 price tag
Works when the router or mobile hotspot is close enough.
802.11n

Cons: The distance needed to obtain a decent signal is not great. Not good for multi level homes or thrrough certain walls.

Other Thoughts: When i use my mobile hotspot on my android device, and put it very close to, or on top of my cpu, or next to it.... I can get a good signal and transfer speeds will be great. If any distance is between your ap and this nic then you should spend a few more $ but it works and was cheap and is supposedly a well supported chipset for us linux/windoze folk.
