4 out of 5 eggsStill Works After 3 Years

Pros: The pros of this device are that out of the box I didn't have to make too many configuration changes, other than changing the default passwords and personalizing the basic wireless settings. It connected to my DSL provided by my ISP without any issues. It has functioned well for the small amount of traffic on my home network. Even allowing me to telework from home with very little problems.

Cons: I don't really have any cons but please see my other thoughts

Other Thoughts: I do not have central air in my house and during the summer the temperatures do cause the router to over heat. When this occurs all devices on the network do loose connection. I do not feel this is an issue of the manufacturer but more on my part not to provide adequate cooling for the device. During the winter months the device functions as expected. When the loss of connection does occur normally just powering the device off and back on, while allowing it adequate time to fully reboots restores service. For the last 3 years this device has performed great considering the environment factors.

1 out of 5 eggsTerrible

Pros: none

Cons: if you have more than 1 wireless device in your house, connected to this piece of junk, then forget about it. Since we purchased this piece of junk, it kicks my wife's laptop off the net 4 times a day, while she's trying to work. At night when we are all online, forget about it, the lag is unbearable. We used to have the D-Link that is similar to this, and wow, what a difference. Dlink never had an issue with bandwidth when everything was running at the same time. Don't buy this, unless you want a constant headache, when we purchase and receive our new one, I will be taking this one outside, and will show it what the 2nd amendment is all about!!!!!!

Other Thoughts: Shoot it, shoot it

Manufacturer Response:

Hello TMcR,

We appologize for any inconvenience that his device may have caused you. There are several places that your device may be loosing connectivity. One could be on the DSL line, you may find that the phone jack is loose or the cable coming from the phone jack has some faults. Another issue could be the Ethernet port on the Modem, you may see that the Ethernet cable is loose or not securely in the port. Wireless connection is a common one, and you may find that you need to tweak some of the Wireless settings. Setting the Wireless channel to a static channel can help, as well as upgrading the firmware of the device.

Unfortunatley we can't tell where your issue may be from this post, but we do encourage you to contact our Technical support for further assistance. I feel confident that we can get this device up and running as it should. You may contact me personally at or find our Technical support hotline at:
We really appreciate you checking out our product and hope you will be able to check out our newer devices in the future.

Best Regards!

5 out of 5 eggsWorks PERFECT with CenturyLink

Pros: Setup CD makes things a breeze. All you need to have ahead of time is your username/password from your ISP. Setup CD has multiple providers options available as presets. This thing feels 100% faster than the junk CenturyLink provides and doesn't drop connections. I was CONSTANTLY rebooting the old router/modem. Took a chance on this and I am thrilled so far. We'll see how it holds up.

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: If you are a CenturyLink customer... BUY THIS!! :-)
