5 out of 5 eggsCheapest customizable router with USB

Pros: Not the best network performance by any means, but makes a great device for hobby projects. I have OpenWRT installed on it with a USB hub and several devices attached. If you setup a few hard links, you can get storage on an external device and run full-blown linux software. I've had this thing running reliably on the ceiling of my garage for a few months now and I haven't been the least bit disappointed. Extends my wireless network and brings a few microcontrollers onto the net.

Cons: Slow network performance, but what did you expect?

Other Thoughts: Wish it had a bit more internal storage.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great...

Pros: It does what it is supposed to do, was looking to use it as a 3G/3.75G Wireless Router while travelling rather than paying hotel access fees. This works great with Sierra USBConnect 308. Setup was a breeze if you use the quick setup wizard since it needs to use the right mobile carrier information.

Cons: I was not able to connect initially without updating the firmware but then on the guide it does call out that update the firmware so not really a con.

Other Thoughts: For the money that I spent on this router and the Sierra USBConnect 308, I can probably get my money worth within a couple of hotel stays where they rip you off on the Internet access.

1 out of 5 eggsPiece of junk in my opinion

Pros: None that I know of. I gave one star just in case this modem works on something else that I do not own.

Cons: Modem says right on the box "Verizon 3G" compatible. My USB 3G modem is a Novatel U760. It IS on the TP-Links compatibility list. I bought two new routers because of the good reviews I read. Now own two paperweights and it will cost me over $20 to return to New Egg. I spent two days off and on with TP-Link tech support in China and just went in circles. They keep insisting that I must get the PIN number from the SIM card on my Verizon Millenicom U760 modem. Problem IS, there IS no SIM card. The 760 uses a CDMA system. No PIN and no SIM card. If TP-Link doesn't even know that . . . how the heck are these modems supposed to work? After installing two different versions of firmware they offerred, and nothing working, I've given up. I wasted days on this and am also out the money.

Also note that I tried two new modems and not just one. Besides not working, they get REAL hot. I find it hard to believe they can be left on for long periods of time.

Other Thoughts: Buy a Cradlepoint!

4 out of 5 eggsExcellent Product

Pros: I had a Netgear 3G router and for the past few months all it's ever done is lose my 3G internet connection constantly. Finally got fed up, found this one on here. Saw it had a good rating, and for the price ($34.99) I said what the heck. Works amazing! Hasn't dropped the connection yet and the speed is as fast as if it was hooked into my laptop directly. Setup of was easy, pretty much plug in and go if you dont want to change any security settings.

Cons: It takes a hair over 3 minutes (my netgear took about 50 seconds) for the router to identify my 3G modem and connect online if rebooted or unplugged but I'll take that wait for a rock solid product!

Other Thoughts: Highly recommended for anyone with a 3G access card who wants to network it with ease.

5 out of 5 eggshey it just works

Pros: TP-Link Wireless N Router (TL-MR3220)
i have been limited to using my Cellular USB modem (Sierra Wireless Compass 888) as my primary source of internet for almost a year and it was ok but it only worked with one computer at a time

so i was looking for a 3G Router and was shopping by price i looked at brand names (when they want on sale) but in the end i decided to try the TP Link because my modem is on their compatible list and WOW!!! the best $35 i spent

i just had to plug in my modem and wait for it (like 1 min) then it worked and can use my PAP2 again and several computers both wires and wireless

i am so glad i bought it

this product has no downside that i know of BUT NOTE; that when i used the modem plugged into my computer i was able to send /receive text massages which was a nice feature of the SW connection software but when used in the router the is NO WAY TO ACCESS THE MESSAGES on the Sim but this is the same for ALL 3G Modems even Craidlepoint

Cons: non IMO

2 out of 5 eggsRUNS HOT

Pros: Unit is inexpensive, light weight, and fast. Easy to set up. Included antenna is better than average.

Cons: Not intended for continuous use. Unit overheats when powered on for extended periods. Symptoms are subtle. Internet service appears slow, when in fact it is the router.

Other Thoughts: Good for travel with a laptop, when on the road or in hotels where internet service may be less than secure.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat N Router

Pros: Easy to set up, you can use a quick setup wizard or adjust the settings manually like I did. I put my Siemens GIGAset DSL 4 port wireless G modem/Router in BRIDGED MODE and then used this TP-LINK to do the network addressing/routing and it works great. No dropout or disconnects just pure fun!!!!

Cons: Wireless N range of this router is less than that of my old WRT54G... but not really by much, but the transfer speeds of this N really kick the stuff out of my old WRT54G.

This router seems to work fine and I would recommend this to anyone needing a basic N router. It also can support OPEN-WRT firmware, and am deciding weather to change the firmware as stock firmware works very well but does not seem to have QOS to individual PCs/MAC addresss/IP Address rather the stock firmware has a basic single upload/download limit to set for traffic control. Great router and super fast shipping on NEWEGG and UPS... GREAT JOB!!!

4 out of 5 eggsLong awaited solution

Pros: Easy setup.

Good configuration screens.

Cons: I had to update the routers firmware to get it to recognize my Novatel 760 3g modem. The V760 _is_ on the TP-Links list of supported hardware, so a firmware update should not have been necessary.

The process of updating the firmware wasn't difficult, but the TP-Link website was painful to use and finding the proper download was more difficult than it should have been.

5 out of 5 eggsTP-LINK TL-MR3220

Pros: Cheap 3G wireless router, works great with strong signal. three times bigger than wal marts 80 plus tax, tiny zoom 3g router.

Cons: Would have been better if already updated.

Other Thoughts: I use the Virgin USB broadband to go device. says on the box and website it works with it.. Well after to much time fooling with it,I connected it back without router went to their website downloaded the latest update and waw la! it's working now... it would be wise to update it before you have the headache i did.

4 out of 5 eggsNice product

Pros: Very nice product that works well (so far).

Cons: TP-Link support stinks or I would give this 5 eggs. I called in because of compatability issues with my modem. (I didn't look at the compatible modems list before I ordered) I was told my modem would not work with this router. (see other thoughts)

Other Thoughts: Despite what the compatability list says (and TP-Link support) it does support the Pantech UMW190VW 3G modem from Verizon with the latest firmware update which is available on their website.
