4 out of 5 eggsDecent

Pros: Cheap.
Works with Windows 10.
Plug-n-Play with Windows 10.
Decent signal strength at a distance. (I'm getting around 120 Mbps)

Cons: Well , for what I am using for (as a back up connection) none really.
Wish I could get full bars , but it is about 60ft away from the router with walls so....

Other Thoughts: I got this from another seller new for $6.00 , sorry NewEgg.
I'm using this as a backup connection , because sometimes my cabled connection gets a little quirky.
I've tested it for media playback such as Music and Movies from my server and Netflix. Works fine even though I'm not getting full bars , so it is a success.

2 out of 5 eggsA little feeble

Pros: Inexpensive. Compact size.Linux compatible. Easy to use.

Cons: Poor connection at a distance from WAP.

Other Thoughts: I've bought several wireless clients from TP-LINK and was impressed by their quality. After I crushed a nano-USB Wifi adapter, I decided to try this because it looked sturdier. It seems to be built OK. However, I don't get very good reception with it. In the room where the WAP is reception is fine, but not strong. I was kind of expecting that due to the form factor. Where I was hoping to use it (20-30 ft away through a wall), the reception is poor to non-functional. This was the same application that I had for the broken nano-USB.

2 out of 5 eggsI liked it when it worked.

Pros: Small
Pretty stable connection when I first got it.

Cons: After a year of using it, its starting to wear out.
Keeps on disconnecting and reconnecting.

Other Thoughts: I just built a new computer using Windows 8.1 Pro. When plugged in the TP-Link some times it works and some times it doesn't. Keeps on disconnecting and reconnecting. When its disconnected the green lights turn off. I tried re-installing the latest driver, but the issue still persist. Even when the router is right next to it, the issue is still there. My other devices doesn't have this problem and we stream netflix and other streaming content all the time.

5 out of 5 eggsWee Yes

Pros: Works just fine. My PC is near the router, so I haven't tested range. It connects and never once has dropped. Ubuntu 13.1 works with it, as does Win 7/8.1. Easy to move from one test machine to another. Small enough it doesn't get accidentally bumped. Nice cool green light.

Cons: Wish they could make it not show in the "Safely Remove" list.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent product

Pros: Super quick and easy install.
Fast connection speeds

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: I bought this for use at my office to connect to our network as my tower doesn't have a wireless card built in. Bought 2 more as a backup. A+

4 out of 5 eggsDoes the job everytime

Pros: Very small and compact design. Plug-and-play for WinXP & Win7. Does not get hot. Green LED indicator light lets you know that it's connected. The device does what it's supposed to do without any problems.

Cons: For some reason Windows 7 does not recognize this device, so I keep the Win7 x32/x64 drivers on my thumb drive.

Other Thoughts: I have two of these units and both work great. I was using one for several months on my vehicle's mobile data terminal (MDT) to connect to Optimum's free WiFi service and it worked great. Now I use both on PC's that have problems with their on-board NIC's.

3 out of 5 eggsGood overall, but not when computer is restarted.

Pros: - it works
- compact size

Cons: - This unit will not work if I restart the computer, so I have to unplug it and plug it again to make it works.

Other Thoughts: I've tried to use it on another computer problem still persist, unplugging is the only way to go.

it doesn't really matter for me, but when my family messing up with my computer and accidentally restarting it.
I just have to wait couple minutes before the person who messing up start grumbling the internet isn't connected.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello Customer,

Thank you for checking out our Adapter. We really appreciate your time sending us a review.

The issue that you may be seeing could very likely be due to the Windows OS. It may have a problem trying to load multiple USB devices during boot up.

A good test would be to only allow the Wireless device in with all the other USB devices unplugged. After rebooting the computer you may find that the Wireless Adapter will come on automatically.

You may also see that trying different USB slots will help.

Upgrading or reinstalling the driver for this Adapter can possibly fix your issue too. You can find the driver from our website at:

If you have any issues or concerns then feel free to contact me directly at

Best Regards!

1 out of 5 eggsDidn't work for me

Pros: Easy to install, was ready in just a couple of minutes. Cute little thing with its bright green lights, wish it had worked out.
