1 out of 5 eggsIncompatible with windows 8

Pros: Cheap

Cons: Incompatible with windows 8. Showing healthy in device manager, and 412.3 Gbps on network status, but can't connect to any network.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat, when paired with TL-ANT2405C

Pros: First, never expect that a tiny antenna on the back of your PC will be sufficient; they never are. You must pair this device with TL-ANT2405C if you expect to get anything over 20 mbps (with this antenna, I have nearly 70 mbps [150 mbps stated]). At about $20 for the pair, the combination is pretty tough to beat.

Cons: None, assuming you don't expect the silly included antenna to do anything.

Other Thoughts: I originally went with the '300 mbps' model (with two antenna outputs); the two silly antennae on the back got me about 30 mbps. In order to have improved that situation, I would have to attach not one, but two large, cabled antennae, which would have looked plain ridiculous and added little value to that presented by this combo. The 150 mbps card with 5 dbi antenna is the pair to buy.

5 out of 5 eggsgood card for $$

Pros: came with low profile bracket . no issues with performance through 1 interior wall and 40ft (full bars) with a 54mbs router. good price

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: much better than my gigabyte card (2/5 bars) for same router.

5 out of 5 eggsIt still works

Pros: After a year or more it still works and has never seemed to be anything less than fully functional.

WPA2 etc.

Cons: It doesn't have any big capacitors, but apparently it doesn't need them either.

Other Thoughts: Wireless devices that work reliably for a long time are much better than those that do not, in my humble opinion.

3 out of 5 eggsIt works, but others are probably better

Pros: Easy installation, works.

Cons: No Windows 8 drivers. Had to go back and run the Windows 7 drivers in compatibility mode for it to work.

Signal is kinda weak. I have my router in the same room and don't always get a full connection. I have a higher ping in online games than I would expect.

The antenna is really feeble. It can't hold itself up well and falls down unless held upright by something else.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello Customer,

We appreciate your review and thank you for checking out our Adapter.

Unfortunately you are correct as this device isn't supported by Windows 8 at this time.

We do have antenna upgrade for this device as well to help improve the signal strength by increasing the gain.

5 out of 5 eggsNot too shabby

Pros: It works well, drivers working and everything.

Cons: Signal is good but not great. Signal is from 4 to 5 bars from the second story(my router is downstairs). You could probably get better signal with an upgraded antenna.

Other Thoughts: I needed a wifi card that was in PCI interface because I have a cheap older mobo. This fit the bill and works well for me.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Works great most of the time.

Cons: Where I am in the house (somewhat close to the router without interferences), I only get 50% of the signal. It sometimes gets a bit up to shortly get back to 50%. It happened once that it went even more down. Even though the signal gets low, the internet connection stays on, it doesn't pause it.

Other Thoughts: Before I used this PCI adapter, I used a USB WiFi adapter. I thought that by actually buying a PCI adapter, my signal would be better so I could get rid of the USB adapter. What happens is, well, the USB adapter was faster and had a better signal (again, where I'm in the house) than the PCI card. I'm a bit disappointed, but it's still awesome.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello Customer,

We appreciate your review.

It is good to see that this device is working for you and we are sorry to see that your previous device worked better.

One thing to keep in mind is that if the back of the computer is too close to the Wall, then you can see some performance loss as the walls will obstruct the signal.

You may also want to try and upgrade the drivers on the computer to help with stability and performance.

You can find the drivers on our website at: http://www.tp-link.us/products/details/?categoryid=&model=TL-WN751ND#down

If you have any issues or concerns then you can feel free to contact me directly at howard.he@tp-link.com.

1 out of 5 eggsWasted Money

Pros: None.

Cons: Unsigned driver. Incompatible with Windows 7 Ultimate. I had a hard time installing the driver because windows detected it as unsigned. Had to make some tweaks to have it installed. Initially it works, but only for few minutes because my system started to crash, crash and crash again. The worse, my HD 6850 GPU suddenly became undetected after too many crashes until finally I uninstalled the driver and remove it totally from my PC. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to save my GPU and now I need to buy a new one and throw the TP-Link wireless NIC directly to the trash can.

Other Thoughts: Will never buy any TP-Link product again.
