5 out of 5 eggsDoes the job

Pros: Recently used this tiny router in Europe for two weeks. Excellent size for travel warriors. TP-Link provides excellent support for 3G/4G modems. Just look-up the country you are visiting and their website shows you the service provider and USB modem model supported. Bought a 3G USB modem in Moscow for 35 dollars plus a month of Internet access. The device works as advertised. The web interface is easy to use. Works with 110 and 220 power. Just make sure you get the right adapter for your destination.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent & Tiny

Pros: Runs OpenWrt Attitude Adjustment TRUNK, see openwrt.org for details.

Atheros radio well supported, using ath9k driver.

Large amount of RAM.

Low power requirements.

Reasonably priced.

Cons: Probably has fairly low range due to internal antenna.

4M flash is just sufficient.

Other Thoughts: I did not buy this for its intended use as a 3G hotspot generator. Instead, I got this as a base to run OpenWrt and Squeezeslave as a tiny battery powered music streamer. I'm happy to say that it works great, and was my easiest OpenWrt project out of 4 routers now.

Since it is so tiny, I plan to stuff it in an old boombox shell powered by a 12VDC lighter cord.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing for PirateBox!

Pros: This thing has amazing capability with OpenWRT. I installed the PirateBox server for file sharing capabilities. The range is actually pretty far

Cons: None its perfect

Other Thoughts: I will probably buy a few more for some other projects.

4 out of 5 eggsLove this Tp link.

Pros: I bought this little thing because of the PB article on it, but then when I got it my wireless adapter kicked so I just plugged this one in and put it on client and it works like a charm. It's pretty amazing how versatile this little thing is, it has so many uses and the interface is really simple. Plus, I think it looks kinda cool and it's really cheap.

Cons: the usb cable could be a little bit longer.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Inexpensive, tiny, and supports OpenWRT. Has a USB slot so can support flash drive, 3G, etc. USB powered is an excellent idea; all peripherals should standardize on USB power. This even allows it to be battery powered

Cons: Only 1 button, processor is not very powerful (but it's a router, not a PC!), and no external antenna.

Other Thoughts: Excellent value for the money. It is among the smallest, least expensive, OpenWRT routers available. Does not disappoint.

5 out of 5 eggsNice little device

Pros: Got this to load Piratebox firmware on for use in Afghanistan, turns out it's a surprisingly neat little router/AP as it is. Decent range in a heavily flooded WiFi area, using it as an AP to do voip calls on my cell phone 50-75 feet away. Plenty of features in the admin interface. It's small and easy to hide away or put in your pocket, and it's powered by a common mini-USB plug. So happy I'm keeping this as an AP and ordering another one for my original intent.

Cons: none

5 out of 5 eggsworks just as expected

Pros: Very very small and light weight. Setup was easy and hassle free

Cons: None right now although we will see how long it lasts. Some of the other reviews are a little disheartening.

Other Thoughts: Flashed the router with openwrt to use as a piratebox. It was a huge learning experience and fun

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great out of the box

Pros: Ease of installation and configuration, works as advertised, nice design, small size, multiple operation modes, powerful configuration software.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: I am using this portable router with a Novatel MC760 USB 3G dongle and Virgin Mobile service. The router took just seconds to discover and properly configure my 3G dongle. I did not have to modify any of the default settings. After that, it connected automatically to the Virgin network and I was in business.

I also tested it in my car, with the power cord plugged into a "cigarette lighter plug to USB" adapter, and it worked perfectly as well.

This is the second TP-Link router I bought (after a TL-WR1043ND home router), and so far I am impressed by how well thought out and executed their products are. This little unit can double as an access point (both WAN and Wi-Fi), a USB wireless network adapter, a range extender for your home router, or a Wi-Fi network bridge!
