4 out of 5 eggsTP-LINK SafeStream TL-ER6020

Pros: Price, features. Ease of IPSEC setup

Cons: VPN client access by computer name. One egg knocked off, netbios name resolution would be nice. The router should be able to help the VPN client locate a computer "in the office" by name and not only by IP address.

Other Thoughts: Bought this router to setup for a small business as the default gateway and IPSEC VPN endpoint for client access. TP-Link VPN documentation for the initial setup definitely works, but I recommend some minor tweaks to improve security. Once a VPN client is connected, it will be unable to locate say a Windows server or host by computer name. Setup in a very small environment so I was able to edit the hosts file of each client. Not sure I'd use this router in a large scale deployment, but so far it has worked well. As with other TP-Link routers I have used, reboots are rare and internet bandwidth utilization is good. Using Shrew soft VPN client. Known issue with some Widows 8 clients where Microsoft Virtual adapter has to be disabled. Apparently newest Shrew Soft client has addressed this, have not tested yet

4 out of 5 eggsWorks fine

Pros: Decent price and feature set

Cons: I had some initial problems with the web interface being really slow, but that cleared up on its own, so the problem may hav ebeen something else.

5 out of 5 eggsOne of the best routers for the money

Pros: I have setup several of these for my customers, I typically configure there networks to perform a remote desktop connection and use this router to do so, I also love the fallback port and the router can sense when to use it if the internet goes down on one wan port it will roll over to another

Cons: Not really a con, but they should have made the router default over to fallback instead of some useless timed port change on the WAN ports. Just beware to change this setting, if not you will have a potentially angry customer (I speak from experience).

5 out of 5 eggsI like this router

Pros: Works..
At one site I was having a problem with internet service. I had tried a couple of SOHO routers. The Linksys (cisco) would maintain connectivity but browsing results were much slower that what we were suppose to get.
A dlink router - would give us speeding internet browsing but would consistently drop the connection and was unstable. Once we installed this router we got both speed and stability.

Cons: None that I am aware, yet

5 out of 5 eggsGreat VPN router

Pros: Small, lightweight, enterprise level. IPsec VPN, PPTP for remote access, reliable operation. I got this device to maintain an unattended IPsec VPN for remote data collection. It has maintained the tunnel with no issues for about 6 weeks now.

Cons: No 'cons' for me, it works!

Other Thoughts: We will be purchasing more of these units for reliable IPsecVPN tunnels.

5 out of 5 eggsMuch more capable than price would suggest

Pros: Solidly built, great for remote office installs, more than enough horsepower to be an effective VPN host, especially as a back-to-back VPN connection. GB interfaces are a big plus. Not at all a UTM, but basic app blocking works reasonably well (Facebook, YouTube, Torrent etc). The price made me fear monthly reboots - I tried one, I liked it, I've bought more over the last 6 months.

Cons: CLI is only there to setup the LAN IP. At least the Web GUI is responsive and fast. VLAN support is physical port based, not 802.1q, so not cool for bigger networks. No IPv6 support YET.

Other Thoughts: For what it is, this is a fine small office/remote office router. It's at least 30% less expensive than the next closest competitive product, the gap might be more than that.
