5 out of 5 eggsAwesome so far

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-PA2010KIT AV 200Mbps Nano Powerline Adapter Starter Kit

Pros: Works exactly as advertised, plugged in one in the basement and the other on the third floor, my PC had a connection within a few seconds and speed test showed I was getting the maximum download / upload speed I'm paying for. Can't ask for it work any better than that.

Cons: None really, adapter is maybe a little bit big but that's a pretty minor complaint.

5 out of 5 eggsUnexpectedly Fast - Great product that works really well!!

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-PA2010KIT AV 200Mbps Nano Powerline Adapter Starter Kit

Pros: So, I'm paying Verizon FIOS for 60/60 mbps internet speeds (or something in that range). However, the only computer in the home that actually gets that speed is the office computer which is hard-wired directly into an ActionTec router/modem.

For quite some time now I have struggled with the reliability and speed of the WiFi network to which my home's computers are connected. My son's computer, which is located just across the hall from the main modem/router, barely gets 18 mbps download and 10 mbps upload. I spent a lot of time researching how I can use an improved router instead of the one provided by Verizon FIOS in order to improve WiFi reliability and speed throughout the home. However, changing routers would result in the sacrifice of many of the cable features for watching TV.

Only until recently did I stumble across this "power-line networking" thing. After watching a few videos, I was surprised to see that these adapters dramatically improve the speed of the network for connected computers.

I bought this set and it arrived last week. Let me just say, I was amazed by the results. My office computer (which is hard-wired via Ethernet into the router/modem) gets around 58.3 mbps download and 63 mbps upload.

After setting up the power-line adapters, my son's laptop now gets 58.1 mbps download and 62.8 mbps upload!! I didn't really believe it at first, because I didn't know these could work just as well as a hard-wired connection. I kid you not, these things work really well. I don't know if my power-lines are an exception or not, but I am extremely happy with this product.

HOWEVER, before I get future buyers' hopes up, I do have one qualm with these adapters. After running a speed test on a computer located at the other side of the house, the speed via the power-line adapters dropped to 17 mbps download and 17 mbps upload! Of course, the connection will be much more reliable using these adapters, but I am almost certain I could get better speeds using my Amped-Wireless repeater (a wifi connection).

Overall, the product works just as I expected. I am a little disappointed that the speed did not hold up so well across a long distance, but I am sure results will vary depending on the home's power-line layout.

Cons: Cannot be connected to a receiver, speed dropped significantly across a long distance

4 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-PA2010KIT AV 200Mbps Nano Powerline Adapter Starter Kit

Pros: Reasonable performance and range -- over what I believe to be a fairly long amount of wiring, on different circuits and in the far end of the building away from the circuit breaker -- the adapters maintain a link rate of over 100+ Mbps, and it's generally rock-solid. I haven't measured real-world performance, though.

Cons: Every few days, the adapters stop communicating for no apparent reason, and one of them needs to be power cycled for them to continue working.

Other Thoughts: TP-Link seems to be blatantly deceiving people. They offer 200, 500 and 600Mbps models. However, the 200 and 500Mbps models both only have a 100Mbps ethernet port, so there will not be any tangible improvement between those two models. The 600Mbps model does have a gigabit port, however.

1 out of 5 eggsLook elsewhere

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-PA2010KIT AV 200Mbps Nano Powerline Adapter Starter Kit

Pros: It is great when it works!

Cons: I had these for around 6 months now. The data drops constantly and I have to restart both at least once everyday. Now it is not too bad if you have both of these somewhere nearby, but when it is on another floor it is annoying. Try other brand.

5 out of 5 eggsTP-LINK TL-PA2010KIT AV 200Mbps Nano Powerline Adapter Starter Kit

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-PA2010KIT AV 200Mbps Nano Powerline Adapter Starter Kit

Pros: Extremely easy set up, seriously plug and play. Work well for my intended use (connecting my PS3 to my router). At the time I purchased these from Newegg the price was impossible to beat.

Cons: None noted as of yet.

Other Thoughts: I purchased this power line adapter starter kit in order to connect my PS3 to my DLNA enabled router. I have been creating Blue-ray rips, and the high bit rate lagged on the wifi connection of the PS3. By wiring the PS3 in with these I am able to stream high quality 1080p, 5.1 audio rips with zero lag.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great for xbox360

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-PA2010KIT AV 200Mbps Nano Powerline Adapter Starter Kit

Pros: Had no problems setting up just push the buttons and its connected. No dropped signal or disconnects from xbox live. No pause or buffering on video streaming. Great price for what you get.

Cons: None other than they should have a option to buy a kit of 4 for cheaper.

Other Thoughts: Just buy it

5 out of 5 eggsBetter than expected

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-PA2010KIT AV 200Mbps Nano Powerline Adapter Starter Kit

Pros: - Very nice packaging. This may not be something very "important", but I was very impressed by the quality of the packaging. It was simple and nice. Plus, they included 2 Ethernet cables, which is a bonus, you never have enough of those laying around :)

- Speed is very nice, and accurate. Had no issues with this.

- Very plug and play. It was easy to setup, and had no issues.

- Mini sized and nice overall looks.

Cons: - None observed yet.

5 out of 5 eggsSo cheap, so easy, so good.

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-PA2010KIT AV 200Mbps Nano Powerline Adapter Starter Kit

Pros: Low price, great solution for problematic wireless, works better than wireless, comes with everything you need, very easy and fast to set up.

Cons: The Ethernet cables it comes with are only 10Mbit, but I think we're lucky to even get cables. Also, streaming HD video doesn't require more than 10Mbit so eh, not taking off an egg.

Other Thoughts: Pretty mad I slacked on getting this for months because I wasn't sure how well it would work. Buy this now if you're hatin on your wifi signal across the house.

4 out of 5 eggsWay better then wireless

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-PA2010KIT AV 200Mbps Nano Powerline Adapter Starter Kit

Pros: Way more reliable as far as signal then my wireless. Price is good for connectivity.

Cons: Only running at 100 Mb/s not the 200 its rated at, took an egg off for this. Still its much better then my spotty 600 Mb/s wireless that at most runs at 200 or so and drops signal often.

5 out of 5 eggsLove these Nano adapters

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-PA2010KIT AV 200Mbps Nano Powerline Adapter Starter Kit

Pros: - faster than wireless for gaming and high data transfer
-less data packet loss
110% more reliable and secure than wireless (in my personal opinion)
EASY PLUG & PLAY SETUP
-Price $24.99 at time i bought
-lightning fast transfers

Cons: -unusable with power strips (BOTH ADAPTERS HAVE TO BE PLUGGED INTO WALL DIRECTLY, NO POWER STRIP)
-uses up a 2 prong connector, not a biggie
no 2-3 way prungnsetup

Other Thoughts: I recommend these for HTPC, XBOX, PS4/3 verses thier integrated wireless and can provide better latency and average 25MBps (not Mbps) and to be truthful most cable and DSL don't exceed 20MBps for residential home use and
