5 out of 5 eggsVery fast

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-PA2010KIT AV 200Mbps Nano Powerline Adapter Starter Kit

Pros: Easy setup (just plug and go). Very fast

Cons: Had one unit fail after about a year, but replacements are pretty cheap

Other Thoughts: This works quite well. I have my office downstairs from my cable modem and router. I'm able to get 22 Mbps down and 5 Mbps up (which is what my ISP speed is). I've never tested internal max speed, but I'm guessing they would go even higher. My place is new construction, so the electrical infrastructure is solid.

2 out of 5 eggsGreat for a month or two...

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-PA2010KIT AV 200Mbps Nano Powerline Adapter Starter Kit

Pros: Essentially has a mindless setup incredibly easy. Works Great when it's actually working...

Cons: This product didn't seem to last as long as i wish it would have. I'm just now getting around to writing a review of it because it's finally annoyed me enough. The adapter worked well for about 2 months then because "cutting out" and would reconnect after about a minute or so if not longer. I could speed of the process by unplugging and replugging the adapter in. I gave this product two stars because at least it lasted 2 months but for how much i spent on it it should have lasted longer than two months.

4 out of 5 eggsDoes exactly what it's designed to do

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-PA2010KIT AV 200Mbps Nano Powerline Adapter Starter Kit

Pros: Simple setup
Works over long distances
Small form factor
Power saving mode

Cons: Pairing not completely fool-proof
Dropped connection a few times initially

Other Thoughts: Device is very easy to use. However, the initial setup wasn't as fool-proof as I thought. I tried pairing the devices with one being connected to my router and the other plugged into an outlet downstairs. Tried several times to pair and it wouldn't take. Brought the adapter upstairs into the same room as the router. Still didn't work. Once I plugged both adapters into the SAME outlet THEN they saw each other. After that, I could move one of them anywhere in the house and it picked up fine. It dropped the connection once or twice on the first day but un-plugging it and plugging it back in fixed that. Haven't had that issue since then. Connection feels just as fast as a wired ethernet connection. I was able to stream Borderlands 2 via Steam from my gaming computer upstairs to an old laptop downstairs @ 60 frames/second. Definitely a powerful pair of adapters. I bought a third for the Roku and intend to make my house fully wired with these little guys!

3 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-PA2010KIT AV 200Mbps Nano Powerline Adapter Starter Kit

Pros: Low cost and gets the job done.

Cons: It can be a bit of a pain to get them to sink.

1 out of 5 eggsConstantly disconnects

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-PA2010KIT AV 200Mbps Nano Powerline Adapter Starter Kit

Pros: Good idea.

Cons: Constantly disconnect, it has gotten worse the longer I've owned them. Sometimes the only way to get your internet back is to unplug and replug them in.

Lately they just drop internet, and you can wait for a minutes or so and it will reconnect, it just gets really old, sometimes a couple times an hour.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello Customer,

We are sorry to see that you are experiencing this issue.

One thing that can cause the drop in connection is an interference from other electrical devices.

If you have other electronics that may be taking up a lot of power like Washing Machines, TV's, Toasters, etc, then you may see some drops in connection due to interference.

You may also want to try and reflash the firmware of the device to see if it may fix any stability issues.

You can find the firmware on our site at: http://www.tp-link.com/lk/support/download/?model=TL-PA2010&version=V1#tbl_j

If you find that these devices may be defective then you can contact our 24 hour technical support and we may try to replace these with our manufacture warranty.

Best Regards!

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect Solution to Not Cut Walls

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-PA2010KIT AV 200Mbps Nano Powerline Adapter Starter Kit

Pros: This is a great product. Very easy to use. Needed to add a hardwire cat5 connection in another room at an apartment we are living in temporarily and this did the trick. No long wires strung across the place or holes to cut in the wall. Simple and easy. Have recommended to others.

Cons: Only Con would be needing to plug directly into an outlet, aka no power strips, but this is understandable as its related to signal clarity I would think.

4 out of 5 eggsEasy setup networking kit

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-PA2010KIT AV 200Mbps Nano Powerline Adapter Starter Kit

Pros: The TP-LINK AV200 Nano package contains two really small adapters, a quick installation guide and a small cdrom, offering speeds up to 200 Mbps. There are three indicator lights to indicate connections.

The installation was really simple, the guide instructions were thorough.

Cons: The only real con I have is the Ethernet Port speed is just 10/100 Mbps, it really should be faster. The included cables are short, and should be replaced by longer Cat5E cables.
The LED lights are rather bright, which may be bothersome in a bedroom.

Other Thoughts: It comes with 28-bit AES encryption and is used by pressing the button on each of the adapters. It was nice the adapters are easy to install and were working in a short time.
